Mama Coco - walk down the memory lane
    Mukta D.

I was here a week after my previous visit. Boy, it was disappointing.. Service: 1/5 the young lady at the counter projected a really weird vibe, as if she was there to walk around in a beauty pageant, not to help customers with their orders. She barely responded to questions as if words cost money. Anyways, when I placed my order, instead of trying to understand what I asked for, she charged me for a Jalapeños salsa on the side. I'm someone who can't eat or tolerate very spicy food. So it felt absurd to get charged for a jalapeño salsa that I wouldn't eat. I told them that I was here couple days ago and the guy who was here gave me two salsas on the side(like every other Spanish restaurant), I just want those. And she and another lady told me, anything besides burrito is just us being generous, in a tone, that sounded like we are doing you a favor. I just paid for a burrito, so it felt bizarre. Food: 2/5 the burrito was cooked and the guy in the kitchen kept it at the counter. The way the chef kept it on the internal order counter was also weird, it rolled from one side of the counter to the other. And then it just stayed there for 3-4 mins, even though both ladies were free, they were not attending to other customers. As she was packing, that's when I realized that they were not going to add any salsa but a lot of chips. How was I going to eat those dry chips without any salsa. So absurd. So, I reminded them to give me the same two salsa like a few days ago. This is when they told me about them being generous. And I was taken aback and a bit annoyed by it. They gave me box and when I opened it at home, I realized they had taken out all the complimentary chips that they give out of generosity and gave me one cup of green salsa but no red salsa.. Ambiance: 3/4 it was fine but I am never going back again

Superb customer service from Nico here, really friendly people, warm and inviting with a colorful festive interior, and stunning wall murals done by a local artist. They have a patio in the back, beautifully decorated and partially covered, the perfect spot for a meal. We got a veggie burrito to go, I specified spinach tortilla with pinto beans and cheese. Not only did it have all of that plus rice and pico de gallo, it also comes stuffed with fresh sautéed vegetable like green zucchini. Super fresh and yummy, with a reasonable price for a hefty burrito.

The food is delicious and authentic. The service is attentive and friendly. The red has murals on the walls that are very well done. We have been here a few times and have never been disappointed in the food or drinks.

$13 for this small container of chicken tortilla soup :/

Ordered DoorDash from here today. Tortilla Soup bowl was ok, bit on the salty side and the portion was small. The Pastel Azteca was stale and hard, inedible. I would rather them have told me they didn't have it than send me something I couldn't even eat. First time getting food from here and highly disappointed! Won't be back.

Met up family here for lunch and it was perfect because my 2 kids were entertained the whole time by the play kitchen they had and also baby toys! Very cool that they have the space to do this in the back patio. The food was good and the service was good. The only odd thing was the michelada came in a glass that wasn't big enough for the whole beer so the mixture isn't right when you add more beer to it after? Not a big thing. Just grateful for a space that's great for toddlers! It's also close to Saint franks coffee and the Caltrain station. Everything was walkable!

Favorite Mexican restaurant in Menlo Park!! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with so much love. The service is welcoming and makes you feel like family every time you walk in. From the burritos to the plates, everything is delicious and beautifully prepared. Must try food and experience!

Delicious food not too salty, and lots of good flavors. Suizas de Mariscos and fish tacos are my favorite items here. :)

I got 2 quesobirria tacos and 2 tacos al pastor, and visually everything looked on point -- the plating was clean, tacos looked well-stuffed, and the birria tortillas had that nice golden crisp. But once we started eating, we all felt the same thing: the salsas were lacking flavor. And with tacos like these, good salsa takes everything to the next level. Here, it kind of held them back. They only gave me two tiny lime pieces, and I couldn't even get enough juice out of them to brighten up the tacos. Something so simple, but it makes a huge difference. We also asked for chips and salsa (they're not free), and they never came. Honest mistake -- they were cool about it and took it off the bill -- but still, it added to the overall experience. Another thing: the nopales weren't well cooked or prepped. They had that slightly tough, raw texture instead of the tender, seasoned bite they should have. Flavor-wise, the pastor and birria were decent, but with weak salsa and barely any lime, it felt incomplete. All four of us agreed on the same thing: This place could be great if they tighten up their salsas and the little details. I'd give them another shot someday because the base is there -- they just need that extra punch of flavor to really elevate their tacos.

Sweet :) Wanted something relatively fast and somewhat healthy and hearty, so we decided to go in. I ordered three shrimp tacos which I believe came with corn tortillas, grilled shrimp, green bell peppers, white onions, and some kind of salsa (green salsa & pico de callo). Delicious! There was a pretty good amount of shrimp in each taco, which I was super stoked on. Total for the three shrimp tacos came out to $19.74 (3x shrimp tacos = $5.99). Everything came out perfect and consistent. There is seating outside and plenty of seating inside. When you first walk in, you will notice the bar to the left side of the restaurant. It was clean, bright, and welcoming. The woman at the counter was straight-forward, nothing too crazy to note on. They have a $10 minimum when paying with a credit card, so just be prepared for that :) The best part is... they have self-serve tortilla chips AND self-serve salsa bar! Their salsas were the right amount of spicy (just the way I like it)... Their bathroom is also very clean, which is always a plus. I told my friend that I will make note of this restaurant, because it's so good and delicious... (will definitely come back again for their salsa bar :)

My original dish of choice was the Red Snapper Al Mojo de Ajo. But many years ago I made the switch to Enchiladas de Mariscos. I have tried the Mole Poblano and fajitas. I have been known to get a burrito for lunch. There are other things on the menu I'm sure I'd be happy with. But, when it's Cafe del Sol night, I crave the adobo marinated seafood and chipotle tequila cream sauce of the seafood enchiladas. They are served with yummy cilantro rice, diced mango, salsa fresca, and a small salad. The rotating dishes of my party include Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, the Red Snapper, Fish Tacos, and El Combo. We always get Quesadilla de Camaron as a starter. The quesadilla comes with a side of guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca, and diced mango for your dipping pleasure. A side order of chips comes with an addictive salsa verde. The restaurant is not without its challenges. It is a small space and often only has one server. The two servers, Tammy and Sonia, have been there forever and are very loyal to their customers. If you are looking for a place with constant stimulation, the latest and greatest in restaurant decor, this isn't the place for you. I come back over and over for the flavors I can't resist.

Taking way one star just because the inside is pretty awkward to navigate (you have to squeeze between tables), and I do wish they offered margaritas haha. I also feel like it's always super quiet in there when dining in. I feel like if they had fun music playing or offered weekend brunch or something, it might get more customers in there.

Otherwise the food and service are basically the same meaning terrific. I also never write reviews based on DoorDash orders but Celia's is definitely one of my go-to's on the app because of the $0 delivery fee. Definitely a fancy Mexican restaurant, though not overly upscale. You'll want to dress up a bit, as it's not the kind of place where casual wear is the norm. While looking at the menu, we learned an interesting piece of history: Celia's has been around since the 1960s, but it didn't start as a Mexican restaurant! It originally served American food, but the Mexican dishes became so popular that they eventually transitioned to an exclusively Mexican menu. I found that really fascinating. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated at a table for two. Without even asking, a server brought over a generous basket of chips and salsa, along with water. It was a nice touch, and we appreciated the prompt service. My partner ordered the green enchiladas, and I opted for the taco salad bowl. Oh my goodness, both dishes were absolutely delicious! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and my taco salad was so refreshing. The service throughout our meal was incredible. The prices were a bit on the higher side; for our two main dishes and two margaritas (which were reasonably priced at about $12 each), the total bill came to $72 before tip. While it's not a budget-friendly option, I'd say it's worth it for the overall experience and the quality of the food. I would definitely come back again!
