    Papusas
    Nith V.

I had veg papusas and burrito delivered from this place and the food was so fresh and good. Really liked it and this was my first time eating papusas which I would compare with Indian parantha but with a twist. Would definitely make an effort to go to this place and try sometime

The food here is good and I appreciate the lengths they go to to accommodate vegans. I enjoyed my pupusa with refried beans, it was hot and fresh and not greasy. It came with a sweet watery mildly spicy sauce as well as a lovely little slaw. I also had the taco combo with their signature vegan street tacos. The marinated vegan meat was savory and chewy, but the rice and beans were honestly the best part. The worst part? Paying $5 for a tiny cup of tasteless puréed guacamole.

Solid pupusas! Came by on a Friday for a light late lunch. Pupusas made to order and I like that they have vegan options. Tried the vegan cheese and beans, and then the carne asada for both ends of the spectrum. Both were excellent. Pupusas always take a while so keep that in mind, but that's the trade off for freshly handmade food! Note that they are a bit on the pricey end: two pupusas plus 18% tip was $13, but 3-4 would've made a more substantial lunch. My two were more of a snack. For the cost, I wish there was just a bit more curtido and sauce (or offered the option of a spicy sauce). Still, I enjoyed the pupusas and would definitely come back for more next time I'm in the area, especially with the vegan options!

Solid burrito They make a solid burrito here. Went for the al pastor. Meat was flavorful tho the burrito itself was a little small. Nothing special but gets the job done

Super vegan friendly and delicious Latin American food! I have never had pupusas before, so I was so excited to see vegan pupusas on the menu. I ordered from DoorDash and the pupusas were delicious, filled with vegan cheese, vegan meat, and beans. They also came with curtidos which were a nice accompaniment . Highly recommend!

The food is delicious. I have a Carnitas burrito bowl with everything. And a Horchata for a drink. Highly recommend this little place.

This is my first meal of today and I'm glad I came here first. Been a really rough day and I know I needed to have a good homestyle cooked meal. There are a few meals that come close to anything Mexican and in Menlo Park, this is my go to spot. Coming in on a rainy day there weren't too many people so it was easy to order without the extra noise in the background. The restaurant is full of natural light painted with bright colors and a welcoming atmosphere whether you are ordering to take out or eating in. The service was quick and easy And I had my meal in less than 20 minutes. I ordered the taco plate switching out regular tacos for vegan tacos and with a drink and tip it came to just about $20. Definitely a great bargain for your dollar especially with the economy the way it is today.I'm glad to be a faithful customer to this restaurant and I look forward to the next meal.

Ordered the Super Burrito with asada . I was pretty disappointed. There's no reason why the asada should be so Damm greasy ! ):

Super Burrito. Pretty upset , there's no reason for the asada burrito to be so dang greasy.

Tacos were small but they did taste delicious. They were kind pricey, around $4 per taco. Also ordered the horchata and it tasted a bit off.

    The Super Burrito

The food was absolutely delicious, I got the super burrito for me and a papusa for my wife and we absolutely loved it! The burrito is nicely packed and the meat and rice were made with love. It is now our favorite food spot!!

Pupusas, curtido (I wanted extra curtido), and our drinks. Ate the tacos before we could get pictures!

Delicious! It was like getting a hug from the inside. The ingredients were obviously fresh, and high quality. They made the food as it is ordered. Service was great--everyone was very nice. We had the jamaica juice and horchata. Loved the jamaica, but horchata not quite to our tastes. We had delicious churros, tacos, and the pupusas. The revuelta was our favorite. We will definitely be looking for an opportunity to come back here! It was nice inside the restaurant. Small, but clean. Looked like it was remodeled relatively recently.

Does anyone know if the pupusas are 100% gluten-free (no cross contamination)?

I have celiac. I ate two veggie papusas (no cheese) and had no issues.

I got 2 quesobirria tacos and 2 tacos al pastor, and visually everything looked on point -- the plating was clean, tacos looked well-stuffed, and the birria tortillas had that nice golden crisp. But once we started eating, we all felt the same thing: the salsas were lacking flavor. And with tacos like these, good salsa takes everything to the next level. Here, it kind of held them back. They only gave me two tiny lime pieces, and I couldn't even get enough juice out of them to brighten up the tacos. Something so simple, but it makes a huge difference. We also asked for chips and salsa (they're not free), and they never came. Honest mistake -- they were cool about it and took it off the bill -- but still, it added to the overall experience. Another thing: the nopales weren't well cooked or prepped. They had that slightly tough, raw texture instead of the tender, seasoned bite they should have. Flavor-wise, the pastor and birria were decent, but with weak salsa and barely any lime, it felt incomplete. All four of us agreed on the same thing: This place could be great if they tighten up their salsas and the little details. I'd give them another shot someday because the base is there -- they just need that extra punch of flavor to really elevate their tacos.

Sweet :) Wanted something relatively fast and somewhat healthy and hearty, so we decided to go in. I ordered three shrimp tacos which I believe came with corn tortillas, grilled shrimp, green bell peppers, white onions, and some kind of salsa (green salsa & pico de callo). Delicious! There was a pretty good amount of shrimp in each taco, which I was super stoked on. Total for the three shrimp tacos came out to $19.74 (3x shrimp tacos = $5.99). Everything came out perfect and consistent. There is seating outside and plenty of seating inside. When you first walk in, you will notice the bar to the left side of the restaurant. It was clean, bright, and welcoming. The woman at the counter was straight-forward, nothing too crazy to note on. They have a $10 minimum when paying with a credit card, so just be prepared for that :) The best part is... they have self-serve tortilla chips AND self-serve salsa bar! Their salsas were the right amount of spicy (just the way I like it)... Their bathroom is also very clean, which is always a plus. I told my friend that I will make note of this restaurant, because it's so good and delicious... (will definitely come back again for their salsa bar :)

My original dish of choice was the Red Snapper Al Mojo de Ajo. But many years ago I made the switch to Enchiladas de Mariscos. I have tried the Mole Poblano and fajitas. I have been known to get a burrito for lunch. There are other things on the menu I'm sure I'd be happy with. But, when it's Cafe del Sol night, I crave the adobo marinated seafood and chipotle tequila cream sauce of the seafood enchiladas. They are served with yummy cilantro rice, diced mango, salsa fresca, and a small salad. The rotating dishes of my party include Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, the Red Snapper, Fish Tacos, and El Combo. We always get Quesadilla de Camaron as a starter. The quesadilla comes with a side of guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca, and diced mango for your dipping pleasure. A side order of chips comes with an addictive salsa verde. The restaurant is not without its challenges. It is a small space and often only has one server. The two servers, Tammy and Sonia, have been there forever and are very loyal to their customers. If you are looking for a place with constant stimulation, the latest and greatest in restaurant decor, this isn't the place for you. I come back over and over for the flavors I can't resist.

Taking way one star just because the inside is pretty awkward to navigate (you have to squeeze between tables), and I do wish they offered margaritas haha. Definitely a fancy Mexican restaurant, though not overly upscale. You'll want to dress up a bit, as it's not the kind of place where casual wear is the norm. While looking at the menu, we learned an interesting piece of history: Celia's has been around since the 1960s, but it didn't start as a Mexican restaurant! It originally served American food, but the Mexican dishes became so popular that they eventually transitioned to an exclusively Mexican menu. I found that really fascinating. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated at a table for two. Without even asking, a server brought over a generous basket of chips and salsa, along with water. It was a nice touch, and we appreciated the prompt service. My partner ordered the green enchiladas, and I opted for the taco salad bowl. Oh my goodness, both dishes were absolutely delicious! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and my taco salad was so refreshing. The service throughout our meal was incredible. The prices were a bit on the higher side; for our two main dishes and two margaritas (which were reasonably priced at about $12 each), the total bill came to $72 before tip. While it's not a budget-friendly option, I'd say it's worth it for the overall experience and the quality of the food. I would definitely come back again!
