I didn't think I would like the green one but it was my favorite. Chips were warm and just the right amount of salt. I always over order so I can have leftovers for lunch. I had a 3 item combo with a cheese enchilada no onion, ground beef taco, and a relleno. I always have to try a chile relleno when I go to a new state. I had to ask how they made it cause some places make it different than what I am used to. There was an option in the menu that read $2.99 for an authentic relleno. I had to ask. The server explained that what comes with the plate is like an omelette style with the chile cut up (that's what I understood). I was thinking, "Really! I have to pay $3 extra to get a traditional style item. That should be offered automatically if you are serving traditional food." I paid the extra cause I wasn't going to have the 'omelette' style. The taco was ok. The ground beef wasn't hitting me right but I ate it. The rice was good. The beans started out ok but then started to taste funny. I stopped eating them. The relleno started out really good. Nice flavor, easy to cut, lots of cheese. About a 1/3 way through I couldn't cut the chile with my fork and the flavor started to change. I couldn't eat anymore. I took the enchilada and rice with me and left the rest.

They are trying to figure out how to run something other than their home kitchen. The chips were made in house but stale. They need to be made daily. Drink selection is lacking. Only 4 options plus some Mexico niche sugar waters. Not a diet option other than water. They use a small cubboard ice maker behind the counter. Place is empty. No one was there. My daughter happened on it by accident. It's hidden. Not sure it's a gem. It's in the back. If you think you're going back to the loading dock, you are not...but it would be a great location for one. So nope, the location is not optimal. English is not well spoken so expect delays or to use your best hand gestures. And for those of you that think that speaking slowly and loudly truly bridges the language barrier...yeah do that. The food was different. We'll see how it progresses through our systems. We've cleared our afternoon schedule. Not my favorite place. Maybe not a repeat. But it was made to order. That is why it took so freaking forever. The people are very very very nice. It really isn't Mexican food. They are from El Salvador so it's a bit of a mix. BUT.....if you are looking for Menudo, a traditional Mexican soup made from tripe (cow stomach) this IS the place. Come to find out, we were only the second table in the place. We were told to seat ourselves so we chose a booth near the windows to the patio. Unfortunately, there was another table nearby with some staff members that were talking loudly that was a bit off-putting. The staff who helped us were friendly and attentive. They even gave me an in-restaurant refill on my soda as well as one to take with me when we left. The menu had many items that looked good, and I had a hard time choosing what to get. It was between the shrimp tacos and the mushroom Swiss burger. I chose the 7 oz burger with tots. While we waited for our food, they brought out a sauce caddy with several different ones to try. My husband ordered the appetizer trio with the BBQ chicken wings, the BBQ ribs and the mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce. He said the chicken wings were the best of the three. The consensus on our food was there wasn't much flavor. My husband said it best, "The cook needs to pick up a salt shaker." If it wasn't for the sauces, we would not have been able to enjoy our meal. On a positive note, my tots were tasty and crispy. They didn't taste like old grease like tots can tend to do. Unfortunately, my burger tasted like an premade dense puck-like patty with an "old" flavor to it. I tried adding a few of the sauces since the mushrooms and Swiss cheese could not overcome the "old" flavor. We probably will look for some place else to eat next time we are in town.
