Triple D needs to stop running the episode with this place immediately! The Pie Dump no longer exists & what's left in its rotting corpse bares zero resemblance to it. If the new owners want to do their own thing, which is definitely their prerogative, separate and clearly differentiate yourself from it as thoroughly as possible. Everything on their Yelp page carried over from the original restaurant and not a single bit of it is still accurate. Making matters worse, they seemed visibly annoyed when we asked them about items from the original menu. It was weird and very off-putting. Additionally, make your phone number very easy to find. My family drove a couple of hours to get to this place and we had concerns, as there was mixed info as to whether this was still the same thing it was when Triple D filmed there. Everyone in my family looked for a number and tried to call them and none of us were able to reach them. We mentioned this and I don't feel that they were honest with us when they insisted that their number was readily available on the internet. It most definitely was not. It very much seemed to us like they are trying to take advantage of all the great publicity and buzz the original place received from Triple D and Yelp and they are hoping to trick people into coming and trying them and being wowed by the new product so much the old won't matter. So how'd they do with that? I was with my wife, two of my daughters, one of their husbands and my two grandkids. We all agreed that we felt like we were somehow in an episode of Seinfeld. As mentioned, we drove a long distance and waited to eat so we could try this and everyone was too hungry to push on to Ogden and try to find something else. Perhaps this is part of the plan for them as well. Hostage eating. There really aren't any other options around there. We finally hit a point where we were all so annoyed, we agreed that we were just going to go where the experience took us and then share it online. The menu is mostly breakfast food, which no one really wanted at 2PM. My wife ordered a club sandwich, which she said wasn't terrible but was clearly made with packaged deli meat like you'd buy at a supermarket. Nothing special at all. The two high points were the Utah scones and the pork chops that my daughters ordered. They were very fatty and low-grade but one of my daughters lived in the Philippines for a while and low grade pork is a staple food there so it brought her happy memories. The other daughter is just delighted to eat anything served with easy-over eggs and runny yolks so that made it all edible for her. My SiL was pretty unimpressed with his food but will be writing his own review. My grandkids are too young to care but growing up in this family, I'm fairly certain the'd have pretty specific feelings about it if they were a little older. I ended up ordering a breakfast burrito because literally nothing else on the menu looked vaguely appetizing after I hyped myself up for the menu I saw on Triple D. They charged me an extra $4 to include bacon, ham and sausage and adamantly refused to swap out green peppers for jalapenos. I agreed to pay extra for the jalapenos but there was not a single jalapeno in the entire burrito once it arrived. I opted to not bother mentioning it to our server since she'd been standoffish about every single thing we'd asked her about to that point so I just figured I'd let her know in this review that she pretty much bought with their weak hospitality. There was also a random bone shard in the burrito. How cheap does the sausage you use in your restaurant have to be to have bone shards in it?!!. If you look at the pic of it I posted, it looks like something purchased in the frozen section at Winco with some rubbery cheese melted on it in the microwave. One of the worst breakfast burritos I've ever eaten. I also paid nearly $6 for some appetizer pot stickers that were very overcooked and clearly straight out of a bag of frozen potstickers purchased from a food supplier. For contrast, we went to our favorite UT pho spot in Orem for dinner where they give you a dozen or more potstickers for less than $6 and if they're not making them themselves, they at least know how long to fry them so the won't chip a tooth. I realize that potstickers and breakfast burritos are a weird combo but the menu didn't give me much to work with. After many years of cooking for my family, I've developed a style I call "hybrid cooking" where I combine 100% homemade components with some pre-made items to create a meal that tastes completely homemade in much less time. If I owned a restaurant, I would try to do as much fully homemade as possible because that's your whole deal. Otherwise you're just low-grade fast food. The majority of bad restaurants I try overestimate their quality and abilities and it works for them because many people have simple palates and aren't as put off as I am. We are from out of town so we looked on line for a place to eat and Bears cafe came up so we decided to try Bears cafe . We had 4; adults in our group. We all ordered lunch the burgers came with cheese no onion , lettuce or tomato . Fries were extra and over cooked to extra crispy. While paying at the register we could see into the kitchen and it was very dirty , didn't look like they cleaned often due to the dead flies on the window cell. Bun was totally raw. Thankfully the waitress caught that we ordered fries that weren't on the plate before it came out. Just poor communication in the kitchen. Fresh baked goods and a limited menu. I was told to try the roll w/gravy, glazed doughnut , chocolate nut roll, and cinnamon roll ( as big as my head!) I have to say that the roll w/gravy was my favorite. I personally would have liked a little more gravy, but the fresh butter rolls were delicious. I did not enjoy the doughnuts. They were very dense, and the glaze or chocolate was dry on top. The roll themselves were very bland. I reheated the cinnamon roll the following day, and it was good but so big I could have had three meals from it. The flavor was just above bland. If rolls are that big, then the filling or flavoring should be more prominent as well. I would definitely recommend and return here. read more

What a huge disappointment. We drove out of our way to visit based on Guy Fieri raves of this place. On our way out of town, my husband and I commented we could have had a more satisfying meal at just about any fast food restaurant (which we only usually visit in desperation, so that's the bar that was set). The donuts / bakery offerings are probably worthy, however, they were all out of donuts, so we had to settle for a brownie. French Dip (a/k/a bread sandwich) - there was barely any meat (literally a single layer of very thin meat). The cheese wasn't melted. The bread was dry - and because of the thin layer of meat, the bread was the overbearing part of the sandwich. There was zero flavor to the au Jus. Corn dog - frozen inside. We had to ask them to reheat. Brownie - good, but way too much frosting smothered over the top. read more

Stopped first thing when they opened was seated right away obviously. I ordered the chicken fried steak platter which was huge. My server was nice and attentive to my drink order and refills. Food was 7 out of 10 perhaps my fault for mixing everything together but rest assured it all got eaten. I think for me the onions were not really cooked down enough or maybe alittle too big. The view outside at the Wasatch mountains is amazing. Price was very reasonable. Highly recommend if you're driving thru or near Garland Ut. read more

There are a number of UPS delivery notices and one notice from the county stating that water and sewer are shut off. Wanted some donuts and this was the closest place to Tremonton. Parking was weird but it's right by a high school and we went during a busy time. We were in and out pretty quickly and grabbed a dozen of the biggest donuts I've ever seen. They were fluffy yet still dense, smothered in frosting, and really delicious. A blast loaded with mashed potatoes, a grilled Hamburger patty, smothered in Gravy and served with a buttered roll. That's pretty much the description of Comfort food. Speaking of comfort food, you have to try their donuts..... oh boy... these are the kind you'll never forget. They are thicker and as I wold describe them, they are a mix between a donut and a Utah scone. Best part of all, the owners are Incredible. They type of people who run a business, but turn it into a community gathering place, raising the youth with pocket money and a work ethic that will benefit them their whole life. They give back to the community by taking a can of food as payment for a donut. This food is then given to those in need. They attend the football games to support their "kids". They provide food for church events, you activities, you name it. They are truly the kind of people that you meet and you simply will not and cannot live your life the same, you will always leave them a batter person. Food If you are looking for some quality cooking, this is your place. Now, I say cooking, not baking... I have had their baked goods on multiple occasions and can say the donuts are dry and flaky (not in a good way). The turnovers are acceptable. Cinnamon rolls are decent but much better when turned into french toast. Their bacon is cooked to perfection. Price Now hear this. Their prices are so low, you can eat there using your kids piggy bank. Service I receive the most welcoming greeting when I walk in. However, your service stops after your food is brought to your table. There is a large sign by the door as you exit that requests you clean your own tables. However, this does help keep the cost of food down. Overall, I only give three stars because I cannot get those donuts out of my mind and the service has room for improvement. Diner food that gives a poor reputation to diners. A neighbor learned that I was working a gig in Tremonton and told me that there was a pie shop that was out of this world. So, last week, a colleague and I dropped in shortly before closing time for lunch. The place isn't in Tremonton. Rather, it is in neighboring Garland -- across the street from the Bear River High School. The location should have been a clue that we ought not expect fine dining. House specialty seemed to be the "spud burger," a mystery-meat patty plated with mashed potatoes and covered with gravy. Hello, school cafeteria food. Patty was tough, but edible. Spuds were, well, spuds. Gravy covered everything and added nothing to the experience. But, I thought, what about a slice of delicious pie for dessert? Surely that will bring the experience up to par. Whoops. No more pies by the slice. Too much wastage from unsold slices, apparently. Yes, one can buy a pie. A whole pie. If one orders a day in advance. Wonderful for local patrons, but not for travelers such as myself. No pie. Instead, I requested a great looking cinnamon roll. Arrived not looking like the cinnamon rolls, but rather covered with gooey sugar sauce. Too thin to be an icing, but serving the same purpose as the gravy described above: camouflage. Couldn't be eaten in hand, like civilized people eat. No, this required a fork in order to keep the sugar goo off of one's hand. And that first bite -- incredible! And almost inedible. I asked the counter person when it was baked. She replied that she made it that morning. Sorry. Something out of whack: its texture was 3 days stale. Dry. Hard. My colleague took a bite. Agreed. I informed the counter lady, who averred that, perhaps, they were over baked. Didn't seemed overbaked -- seemed just old. She could've expressed some contrition that her effort wasn't up to my, admittedly out of town, standard. Or offered some substitute pastry. (Closing time: she was, hopefully, going to discard them anyway.) But no. No further comment. No taking it off of the bill. Nada. If you want high school cafeteria food, try the high school cafeteria across the street. read more

We ordered a variety of items off the menu: Breakfast burrito with ham - my wife and I loved it. The ham had a really good flavor, the items were layered perfectly and each bite had bits of goodness; eggs, cheese, ham, and potatoes and gravy. Yes the potatoes and gravy were talky good in the burrito. I'd order this again. Biscuits and gravy - I went with the sausage gravy and the biscuits were very good. They were homemade and nice and soft. I thought the gravy lacked salt and pepper so I added some. Maple bar - it was an ok donut but would not order it again. Wasn't as light and fluffy as their holed donuts. Glazed donut - I loved these a lot. I definitely order a dozen of these. Light, fluffy, and the prefect amount of glaze. Cinnamon roll - these are huge. Lots of cinnamon and covered in frosting. Took up an entire Styrofoam container. Great tasting cinnamon rolls. Cherry turnover - I'm not a turnover fan but this one was pretty good. Could have had more cherry filling to enhance it. Potatoes and gravy - this was one of the best items. Brown gravy was really good, nice and rich and full of flavor. The potatoes were mashed and had the skins still on. This also came with their famous hot roll and that was also really good, especially dipped in the gravy. Apple fritter- this was another good pastry. Lots of flavor and good texture. Switched management and it's not good. We used to come every Saturday morning with our kids. Today we stood in line for 10 minutes while someone kept walking to the front and saw us all in line, but didn't take our order and just went back to the kitchen with the one other person cooking. Then we ordered donuts and hot rolls both of which were supposedly done and ready but we still sat and waited for another 10+ minutes to get them. And not only that, there was only one clean table. Every other table had dirty plates and cups on it but no one sitting in them. Staff wasn't very friendly and just kind of dropped food in front of people. Just yikes. There were also about 5+ other people who all came in after us for hot rolls, but they were out and everyone just kept leaving. So if you like most of the valley come for the hot rolls, expect them to be gone. read more

I brought my out of state family to have a wonderful cinnamon roll. We drove 23 miles to enjoy this treat. To our disappointment it was awful. Very hard, could not even cut it with a knife. Drowned in frosting to cover up the stale roll. I was so embarrassed to have bragged about how it was a never to be forgotten treat. So bad we had to throw it away. Driving from SLC area to north to Idaho, we took a short detour to visit this place based on reviews. We found the service to be friendly and good. We didn't order from the kitchen as we got a chocolate donut and a cinnamon roll plus an Apple fritter because another reviewer said they were good, and we weren't disappointed. Because we have a lot of homemade cinnamon rolls, we often order them when we see some that look good to compare. The cinnamon roll was a lovely yeast bread, but they are not glazed until served, and there was a lot of glaze, and we like glaze, but it was so much it made it extremely sweet. Otherwise we were very happy we stopped. We drive that road a fair amount and will stop again, but next time will either ask for no glaze or light glaze if we order the cinnamon roll. read more

I wanted to try this place based on DDD. My son and I were in the area and stopped by. As a newbie, they gave us a free roll and gravy to try. The roll was good, but would have been great with some homemade strawberry jam, honey or honey butter. We had the breakfast burrito which was small (tiny) and generally underwhelming. We thought some donuts to go would salvage the experience. The family unanimously rejected the donuts as gritty and off-tasting. Keep driving... I ordered a burger based on the recommendation of the girl who took our order, and my friends ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and the french dip. All were sub par. The burger was overcooked and dry, probably from a frozen patty and everyone else in the group was unimpressed. My friend's comment was that his tater tots tasted like cigarettes, but that may have just been the ambiance. The water was also pretty sketchy, leaking from a dirty sink beside the soda machine, and the restaurant was dirty despite being slow. For service, they mixed up our tots and onion rings (though the onion rings were better), and forgot my hot roll entirely. I went back to get it because I saw a couple reviews rave about them, but I didn't even finish it. It tasted like a dry rhode's whole wheat roll with brown gravy from a packet. I think this may be the worst I've been burned from follow Yelp reviews. I will not go back. read more

This is by far and away my favorite steak in Utah. This ranks in my top 10 greatest steaks of all time. The boneless t-bone is amazing. The owners are 2 of the best people you will ever meet. The service is friendly and genuine. The home made rolls are outstanding (I think the secret ingredient is heroin because I have a jones for them now). The deserts are top notch but go for the apple pie you won't be disappointed. The fried green beans are the stuff of legend around there. 2 people can get full service and still come out UNDER a hundred bucks. The one and only drawback I have to this place is they do not serve alcohol. Nope none not a drop. If they served wine or beer this would be my home away from home. They are only open on Thurs, Fri, and Sat night for steaks. The rest of the time it is the Pie Dump. That is how we found them. We were on a quest to find the best slice of pie in the world. read more
