Stopped in first time for lunch. They only have soda so don't expect to get a margarita or a beer (and the soda is can/bottle so you're paying for each one) Foodwise: this salsa has pretty good flavor The food was good: taco, tostada, and enchilada. I didn't care for the refried beans, but the rice was good. Overall, it's decent Mexican food at decent prices. Service was good. We asked for the green taco sauce and it was a good flavor, but not spicy which for some people the table that was perfect cause they can't handle spice. It's kind of one of those blink and you might miss it places just off the side of 36 next to it looks like an auto shop kind of thing in the parking is just up against the building lining 36. It's not a huge place inside so I don't know what it's like when it gets busy. But I would go back. read more

A new restaurant for us and I wasn't disappointed. Our regular one was closed on Sunday so my family and myself decided to check out El Comal Mexican Restaurant. Was hiking this am at Stephen Austin State park. My hijo was getting hungry, largely because he was too "Stoopid" and did not eat enough for breakfast. Anyway we're getting read to leave and I turn on the google machine looking for restaurants near me. This place comes up along with a Whata Burger and a subway. No brainer right??? In the parking lot and thinking this a real, bonafide, hole in the wall. OMG! This was seriously good stuff! Throw the fact that it's priced relatively low...and then BAM! You get five stars and a high five from me. They actually have Cactus Tacos Yo! I don't get to Sealy much but this was good enough that I'd make a trip every now and then! read more

I love good authentic Mexican food, and the 1 thing Sealy has been lacking is Mexican breakfast!!! Grateful and thankful to have found this gem!!! First visit was great. I will be back for more! I had juevos rancheros over medium. Comes with beans, potatoes, 2 (small) pieces of bacon and 3 tortillas. This hit the spot for me!! This is a new little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in Sealy, TX. The food is not your typical Tex Mex food, it's more of an authentic Mexican cuisine. They make homemade corn tortillas. We came with a party of 22 and they were very attentive and fast despite our large party. Probably one of the few Mexican places in Sealy that is really good. And it's inexpensive! Definitely will come back again

We were leaving Sealy at the end of a difficult trip and saw El Comal on the road out of town. Hungry and dispirited, we walked into the restaurant and were surprised by the cozy interior, as the exterior may look forbidding due to its proximity to the road. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. We had the daily special of poblano mole con pollo, which came with beans and rice and was priced extremely well at $7.99. We also had the Hibiscus tea, which was just as excellent as our lunch. The next time we come back to Sealy, we look forward to eating here again and also trying the Horchata. After our wonderful lunch, we got back on the road with lifted spirits and very happy stomachs. Don't judge a book by its cover, eating at El Comal is a WIN. read more
