Horrible experience. The table was extremely dirty and looked like it had not been properly cleaned before we were seated. A restaurant's cleanliness should be a top priority, especially in the dining area. The food may have potential, but the condition of the table made the whole experience disappointing. Please do better with keeping the dining area clean and making sure customers feel comfortable when they come in. If things continue like this, I will not be returning. I hope management takes this seriously and improves the cleanliness because customers deserve a better experience. read more

Had the best fajitas for 2 for a late lunch yesterday!! The salsa is spot on. Tortilla chips have a hint of lime which is always so good. Great service too. We travel cross country and always stop here when we come through. If you find yourself wanting Mexican on the west side of the Houston area, Ernesto's in Brookshire is amazing. read more

Great place in Seally. The menu is expensive but I have yet to find anything on this menu that I didn't like. The food is absolutely delicious. We have never gotten to desserts because we're too full when we finish eating the very generous portions! The bar is offset from the restaurant by wooden pillars and floor, which gives the restaurant a very family friendly vibe while not making the bar seem separate. It's a beautiful concept. The service is quick and friendly. They all seem eager to help and even stay polite and engaging through my slow and terrible Spanish. Lol. It's a great place we stop by when we are in the area and it never disappoints. read more

Nice authentic Mexican food. For starters the bowl of beans were really tasty! I ate them all! The "fajita plate" was incredible, the meats grilled and seasoned just right and really nice rice. I love this place, it's small so they don't always have tables, but they have the best chicken in a cream sauce. My kid loves the enchiladas and so if we are in Katy she wants to go all the way to brookshire to eat. The salsa is hot, so be careful how much you use. They always serve a bowl of beans with every meal like cups, salsa and you get a bowl of beans. read more

The firiendly waitress had to confirm if I really wanted 2 orders just for myself. Little did I know that food.was served supersized! I ordered menudo. Their smallest size was huge. It came with the usual veggies, lime, etc on the side plus tortilla. Menudo was a masterpiece. Free appetizer included bean soup and torrilla chips with 2 types of dips. Unfortunately I feel the ratings are misleadingly good for this restaurant. The green and red salsa were meh and we never got beans some of the Reviewers raves about. I ordered Caldo de Res which came out cold and the meat tasted old. My husband's beef fajitas were low quality, and my daughters tacos al carbon although meat laden tasted like beef jerky. The decor was very interesting, a throw back of the 2 color sponge texture painting popular in the 90s. We were also graced with a couple who didn't understand that they were in a public place. The parking is absolutely atrocious. Walking in you can observe the entire restaurant at a fleeting glance, a definite hole in the wall with multiple "Best in waller county" certificates on the walls. The food is VERY cheesy, like an 80s cover band with a keytar, which is exactly how it's supposed to be. The pepper in all the dishes is poured with a heavy hand, but that's not too bad either. Ernesto's merits more than one trip, it's small, independent, and full of regulars. You're getting the same 2-3 waiters and the same cooks. The food is very reliable. The prices are medium the portions are huge, I have never left Ernesto's hungry. However the shrimp are frozen and small. read more

Enjoyed the stuffed avocado plate. It was a generous portion, and I couldn't finish even after sharing. Recommend this for hungry travelers.

The worst. We picked up a To go for our office. They used a styrofoam container and poured beans and rice without a divider. The beans were runny and poured out all over the bag. The sour cream and cheese was done the same way. I have never had anyone do something like this. So unprofessional!! NEVER buy from there again. read more

Stopped here en route to SA, driving back from humid Houston. The place was packed on a Sunday afternoon, lots of locals. Staff are very nice and fast. Salsas are awesome. Charro beans come early and are delicious. Aguas frescas de Jamaica (hibiscus tea) is refreshing. Wifey's green chicken enchiladas and my tacos al pastor were to die for. No nasty Tex-Mex here. We're locals and eat here often. We've been dining here since they opened. Other than the menu holders, not much has changed since then. And we wouldn't have it any other way. Their building is old. Like, really old. It's not easy on the eyes, but don't let that discourage you from coming in and trying the best Mexican food in town. The staff is consistently friendly. And while the lunch hour gets a little crowded and crazy, I can assure you it's worth the wait. I've tried and enjoyed so many different menu items it's hard to nail down a favorite. The complimentary charro beans are perfect. The cheese enchiladas are super cheesy and rich and wonderful. The spicy fajita steak and spicy pechuga are usually my go-to. Their caldo is hot and made with fresh veggies. Queso is awesome, though I rarely order it; there's not much need to since the chips and salsa remain stocked on the table. Enchiladas Mexicanas are legit. My sister always gets the stuffed avocado and enjoys it every time. Chuy's Dinner is also a great one. Stopped for gasoline on our way to the Houston West RV Park and found this little gem next door. It doesn't look that great from the outside and the parking lot needs help but everything was hot and delicious!! We had taco salad, chile rellenos, chicken enchilada, and sopapillas. Wow! That's about the best word for this place. It is literally off the beaten path and it's worth the find. It's a small town find and the food is fabulous! The prices are low and you get enough food to promise you won't leave hungry. The tortillas are hot and fresh and you can taste the butter in them. The burrito is full, full, full of fajita meat. Stopped here on a whim on the way home from Galveston. We were bummed we forgot to stop in Katy and figured we had passed all of the good restaurants already. Nope!! This place reminded us of all of the authentic Mexican restaurants that tourists normally drive by but locals love. Food was great, service was friendly and bathrooms were clean which was appreciated after being on the road. Will definitely return next time we're headed to Houston! read more

Right off the highway, the facility looks broken down and questionable, although the locals seem to love it and it has a really cozy atmosphere. The service is impeccable, but the food was so-so. The flour tortillas seem to be made by hand, which is usually a huge plus, but these were very oily. My friend's corn tortillas looked (and reportedly tasted) fine. I ordered a shrimp fajita and the meal came with six, medium sized shrimp. The Refried beans were fantastic, but the shrimp was chewy and there were too many peppers and onions compared to shrimp. The oily tortillas gave me some digestive issues later. The chips and salsa were okay. read more
