First, sorry for not remembering to take pix of the food! This place is packed every time we drive by. So we decided to try it. I enjoyed the chips and salsa. Only ordered one marg cuz it just wasn't anything special but I've also gotten a lil boujee with drinks. The food was alright. I got some combo with a tamale, cheese enchilada, crispy taco, and rice/beans. You really cant mess up refried beans, but the rice could use some work. It is however reasonably priced! My combo was like $12.99 I think. Whole table of 5 ate for under $100 The service was great! They had free ice cream which the kids loved. Plenty of parking. Its right iff the hwy (36 in Bellville) so easy to get in and out off. I've seen trailers parked out there. read more

My husband and I frequent Galileo's once a week. We take the 30 min drive out to Bellville to enjoy some delicious Mexican food. The staff is super friendly and we have not found one thing that we do not like. Best part is we can both eat a full meal and get out of there for under $25 for the food (does not include tip). I haven't been a fan of GALILEO'S MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN BELLVILLE, TX, but my nephew likes the chimichangas so I go there for him. This evening I took my brother and his family there after church for dinner, arriving a little after 6:00 p.m. About 10 minutes later somebody finally took our order.  Later, we saw one family that arrived the same time as us and four families that arrived after us leave, and we still hadn't received our food.  We asked about our food and were told it would be right out.  We waited and it never came.   We got up to leave and after we were out the door, one of the owners came running out to us.  Instead of being apologetic, she tried to get us to wait for the food and offered to pack it to go for us.  She seemed more concerned about making the sale than she was about apologizing for the lousy service.  She didn't seem to care that we had already waited 45 minutes since placing our order, and that it was already 7:00. Earlier, while we were waiting for our food, one of the waiters dumped a tub of silverware wrapped in napkins on the floor.  Instead of taking that silverware back to the dish room for washing and replacing of the napkins, he put it back in the tub for customers to use.  Disgusting!  Maybe they need a health department inspection. The only way I will ever go back into Galileo's again is if they change owners and attitudes. read more

I ordered the cheese enchiladas and the cheese inside was a liquid, not melted... liquid cheese. Like from a can. They were gross. I sent them back and ordered the spinach enchiladas on corn tortilla. The woman brought it on flour tortilla. I told them I didn't want it, as I have a gluten allergy. She was rude and still charged me for the cheese enchiladas I returned. When I asked to speak to the owner he told me I cost him a bunch of money and I wasn't welcomed back. Because I have a food allergy I was treated horribly. They were rude, the food was horrible and the place is dirty and unorganized. If I could give it zero stars I would. read more

Decided to make a pit stop here because of the reviews and we were hungry. Really glad we decided to give them a try. The sauces and chips were average with the green sauce being the better of the two. The chips are thick and crunchy, no broken chips in the queso with these beaties. The queso was average but good. Now the meals themselves were on a whole other level, my son as always ordered the Cheese Enchilade dinner. Served with refried beans and rice which are better than most. The enchiladas were on the xtra large size and were about as perfect as a cheese enchilada could ever hope to be. I had the Fajitas Al A Mexicana combo for one. Served with rice, refried beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and home made flour tortillas. It was a solid half pound of fajitas if not more. The chicken was good but the beef was awesome, super tender with a Pastor influenced marinade accompanied with sizzling onions, poblano peppers, and tomatoes. The home made flour tortillas were good and larger than most places, about 7". Customer service was spot on, prices were about average. No complaints at all, give them a try. read more

If you're from Austin County then you know what Galileos is. There is a constant battle between Galileos vs. Casadorez in the next town which is (Sealy, TX). I'm going to do this review in the pros v cons style. Pros: Great drink specials, fijitas are delicious, chips and salsa are pretty decent, and last but not least their queso is pretty good. Cons: The establishment is very small, when I went there it was hot inside the restaurant almost to where it was uncomfortable. Our service absolutely sucked, i had to almost yell across the room for a drink refill. The beans and rice that came with my fijita for one plate was disgusting. read more

We stopped in for dinner while on a weekend getaway in Bellville. Read the reviews and decided to pop in and give it a try. Staff was very attentive and friendly from beginning to end. Chips and salsa were brought out immediately. The chips were thicker than I like but didn't stop me from eating them Salsa and green sauce were good. I ordered the beef fajita nachos which were good though a little shy of the meat and a little excess on the cheese. My husband had the chicken fajita salad and he loved it. Said it was one of the best he's had. We both had a frozen margarita with Don Julio and the bill was half of what we normally pay at our usual go to Tex-Mex restaurant back home. I ordered fajitas for $14. I requested just the beef and onion on the platter and everything else on a separate plate, but when we got the food, we had the tomatoes and poblano peppers mixed in. This seems to be a common event at every Mexican restaurant I go to. I was going to just sit there and pick out the meat, but fortunately my mother ordered something else which had just onions and beef (which is what I wanted!) So we traded plates. The meat was pretty plain for my taste, but my mother said it was good. We walked in when nobody was present to greet us, so there wasn't anyone to seat us and we sat awkwardly for a bit without menus. Had to ask for it and one of our waiters (we had like 5) got it for us. Bathrooms are a bit crotchety but it seems to be kept clean to the best of their ability. One of our waiters kept coming around and asking us if everything was good, which was nice. Total was $66-ish for four. They seemed nice. It's decent for a small town restaurant. read more

The food was good but the overall experience was not. It was hard to get service because every server was on their phones. Mexican hairless? I don't theenk so! Son and I had lunch. About half way through meal he discovered a 6 inch long human hair had been served as an garnish. Even though we were only half finished our waiter had presented the bill and disappeared. I went to counter and suggested returning hair to rightful owner. I live in Brenham and used to drive to Bellville often to eat at Galileo's. It was my favorite place to eat Mexican food. The food was great. The service was great. The portions are very generous. I finally quit going there because they serve Pepsi products, and not Coke. I know Pepsi gives special pricing to places that serve only Pepsi products, and not Coke products. Galileo's probably thinks they make more money not selling Coke, but I can assure you that they do not. I realize that choice of soft drinks is not important to most people, and for that reason I am giving Galileo's a five star rating. read more

I've been eating there since the day they opened! There isn't anything on the menu I don't like. Yes, I'm very partial to them because I have been working there part-time for 19 years. They are my extended family. I know people have commented about every aspect of the restaurant: service, food, prices, cleanliness. Think about it. Would I eat there ALL the time if I didn't think the place was clean? NO! I watch them clean at night after we close. I see when the carpet cleaners come in after hours. Speaking of prices...Please do NOT complain about the prices!!! As far as I can remember, the prices have only been changed twice in the 19 years they've been open. Compare prices AND QUALITY to the other restaurants, and you'll see there is no comparison.
