Wait till today and let them know that they made a mistake. They want the burrito back. Whatever I still have it, right, however, some of us also have to work too (except I actually can do my job right, and can't just up and leave my job because YOU can't do your job correctly the first time) Was told by the employees and manager, you're pretty much SOL if you can't return it now. So I have to LEAVE work, drive all the way home to Horizon, THEN drive all the way back... because YOU don't know how to do your job? I even asked if I can take it in the morning and was denied. Since you don't want to correct YOUR OWN mistake, I will be leaving bad reviews everywhere and just wait for social media. The total for two burritos came out to $30. So I literally spent $15 for an incorrect, basic burrito, and EXTREMELY bad customer service. If they're this lax and lazy in doing their job right or even bothering to correct that mistake, who knows what's wrong with the restaurant and the kitchen. Hungry and in a hurry: I had just picked up my car from Casa Nissan and wanted something quick before heading out of town. I spotted this Venezuelan place nearby and thought I'd give it a try. The restaurant was completely empty when I walked in. Music was blasting so loud that it was hard to talk. Uncomfortable start: A woman came out from the kitchen who barely spoke English. She looked at me like she didn't really want to be there -- or want me there. It was awkward from the start. Confusing menu: She handed me a single-page menu and I ordered Tequeños (5 for $10) and one Tequeyoyo. She held up three fingers so I thought, okay -- three must come in an order like the Tequeños. Another customer came in after me -- she spoke Spanish -- and suddenly she was handed a multi-page menu with more items and prices I'd never seen. That's when I realized I hadn't been given the full menu. Food quality: When my food arrived, it was a lot -- way more than expected -- and honestly it tasted like something frozen and reheated . Billing mess: When I went to pay, she charged me for three separate Tequeyoyos instead of one. I showed her the price on my menu ($4 each), but she insisted I owed for three. Then another woman came out and showed me that "other" menu again with different prices. The Spanish-speaking customer got full service and a friendly tone -- I got attitude and confusion. I can't lie... it didn't feel fair. How it ended: They finally agreed to honor the original price, but I still paid the difference as a tip because I felt bad about the misunderstanding -- even though it wasn't my fault. They didn't thank me or even acknowledge it. Final thoughts: The whole experience left me feeling gaslighted and discriminated against for not speaking Spanish. I walked out embarrassed, frustrated, and hungry for something better. I love supporting local restaurants -- but respect and clear communication matter just as much as flavor. Hopefully they improve, because no one should feel unwelcome when all they wanted was a quick bite.

CASA DE TORTA IS HOME…read more I've been going to Dan's restaurant since 2001 when they were a little spot inside the Howdy's gas station (it used to be a Texaco and they had a different name back then). Then they moved to their own space behind the Walgreens and became Casa de Torta! I've been ordering their insanely delicious Chicken Quesadilla for going on 20 years now and I'm still not tired of it. Their Tortas and Taco Plates are amazing. They make these fruit smoothies that are absolutely bananas as well. But that Chicken Quesadilla, oh boy... that's my favorite! I order it with fresh avocado slices inside and I add their famous green salsa, a pinch of salt and WHAMO! Perfection! LOL. Dan the owner, Julio the Manager and sweet Esther the cook are like family to my mother and I. In 2018, my mom had 3 back-to-back strokes and everyone was telling me she was going to die. I needed funds immediately to keep up the mortgage payments on her house, pay medical bills, etc. etc. I made a flyer for the GoFundMe page I made for her. Dan didn't hesitate to let me hang it right on their front glass door so anyone coming in would see. Dan donated on the spot (despite going through his own serious health battles) and then the staff came together to donate a little extra. All I have in this world is my mom and my animals. She is the love of my life and for 8 months she was in the hospital with tubes and IVs sticking out of her. It was terrible. When I'd come home to shower, I would call in my order and pick it up the way I always do and they would always ask about my mom. Sometimes they would see how bad I'd been crying or how exhausted I was and they wouldn't accept my money for the food. These people were the family I never had in my time of need. They all love my mom and that fact alone makes me love them. My mom is alive but she remains brain damaged and paralyzed and I take care of her all by myself. We can't afford to eat at their restaurant like we used to because of my mom's expensive daily care, but every 8 months or so I save up to buy our favorite dishes from them. We rather eat there than any other restaurant in the city because these people are the best of the best when it comes to humanity. The amazing food is just a bonus. If you're looking to support a local business and get some AWESOME food while you're at it, this is the place to do it. Every time I have moved back to El Paso, the first thing I do is hit up Casa de Torta... not only because I crave their food ALL the time, but because Casa de Torta is home. Thank you!!!
