Great service. I recommend this liquor store. No problems experienced. Other liquor stores are very dirty this one is not like this at all.

On July 8, 2022, I visited El Don Liquor when walking in for a quick snack after spending time on the beach. My partner and I each got a bag of Kettle Brand chips. We stumbled on the store when walking around. It's a no-frills convenience store that satisfies any immediate snacking or drinking needs. The cashier has a quirky sense of humor. WTH!!! I've been here so many times. Moved to HB about 2 years ago. I've come here and been carded, and sold to. I've come here and not been carded, and sold to. Why, today, was I carded and denied a sale??? Like what?? Lol I have an out of state ID...she's checked my ID before and sold to me.. like I said she's even not carded me and sold to me. She was so rude about it. I was very confused and asked why... I didn't get a reason. "I'm denying this sale to you, I don't wanna argue on this point, sorry." No real reason. Does she think it's a fake and I'm a teenager?? Does she hate out of towners now? I'm gonna bring my CA proof of residency and try again...if I get the sale i'll come back and leave a better review. read more

Really good customer service! They have a lot of rentals of different items, and they also give discounts to college students and loves seeing them come into their store! Amir was really friendly and made us feel right at home. His store is super inviting and told us they've been around since 1905. Stop by if you want really great prices on renting chairs, boogie boards, or balls to play with your kids. read more

Political views shouldn't be an opinion that is pressured onto customers. The specific incident which incited me to write this review involved the cashier instigating an argument with a customer about the NFL kneeling for the National anthem. I believe we are all entitled to our opinions but to instigate verbal arguments with customers to pressure them into your beliefs is an abuse of what little power a clerk is given. This specific clerk resorted to name calling and cursing to further emphasize her point. Overall, I found it unprofessional and generally uncomfortable. I won't be a patron of this place of business again. read more

Whenever I am in town this is my stop shop for snacks, wine, beer, liquor ect. Amiv has helped me each time and he is super nice and has shared such great stories of the shop and how back in the rock and roll days there were many celebrities that have stayed in the rooms upstairs. I won't anywhere else but this shop mainly for how great it am treat and always welcomed when I come in. I absolutely love what they have done to the wine room with all the tile work. read more

I have been coming to this liquor store for 48 years now. I remember buying sodas with my grandpa when I was just a little kid and I just popped in here last night and boy was I amazed. The place is completely redone, very nice layout and they even have boogie board and surfboard rentals now. It looks like a store that would belong inside the Hyatt. I had to pleasure of chatting with the owners Amir and Cecilia. Super sweet people. Not what you would expect. If you are here from out of town, grab one of their tee shirts and take it home with you, this place is a classic. read more

I was double charged AGAIN. They're slow and rude. They continue to claim their machine is broken. I've disputed multiple charges that they ran through twice. They always claim the machine is broken. Don't go there whether it's cash or card. Jacked during card transactions and always treated poorly. read more

Love Amiv! Literally located right next to the pier and all the shops. He was friendly and 1) helped us make a decision on our liquor poison of choice for the day 2) answered all our questions regarding what to do and where the best prices are 3) offered us limes (and a plastic knife) no charge for our tequila 4) gave us plastic cups to drink from PERFECT CUSTOMER SERVICE! This place is GREAT if you are staying at a local hotel which is overcharging you for drinks. The selection is decent (they don't have every brand of everything, but you'll find something close enough in your price range) and the prices are less than half what you'll fork over for your booze if you buy it on the hotel property. Plus, the clerk is a rockstar who will provide you free cups, slice up and wrap a few limes for you if you'd like, give you packets of salt if you buy tequila, and then tell you to grab some waters out of the cooler. He completely understands what his customers need and provides some of the best customer service I've ever encountered. They've been there 40 years for a reason. Buy your liquor here if you're in the area; they deserve your patronage. read more

I used to live directly across the street for El Don.....so I used to stop in quite a bit on the way home, etc. Always good service....I remember asking about something once.....can't remember what...some kind of cookie or burrito or something that I liked....and he didn't have it but offered to order it. I'm in town for my sisters bachelorette party and we stopped here to get some goodies for the beach. The man who helped us in the store was extremely helpful and welcoming! We got some alcohol, mixers, drinks, candy, snacks, AND we rented an ice chest. We completely forgot to bring our ice chest from home, so this liquor store was just meant to be right by our hotel. This store also has some beach toys too which is super nice and convenient since it's right across the street from the beach. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the customer service, store selection, and location. I will come back here again, and I would highly recommend to anyone! Great local joint! read more

On vac passing by Huntington Beach, fam and I decided to swim at the beach. Prob was we didn't have any gear. Decided to shop around needed to rent boogie boards, buy towels, swim trunks and sun block. The nice gentleman at the counter was super helpful and friend. The best part were the prices. This guy wasn't trying to break the bank he was super affordable all things considered that this place is on the beach. Last, he was ultra friendly to our kids which really speaks to this guys humble yet friendly approach to service. Great job El Don read more

This is the best place to go if you need to rent beach chairs boogie boards or umbrella. They are very expensive elsewhere. We looked at several places and went in on a whim as we walked by. the customer service was amazing. Don't be fooled by the name they sale lots of items not just liquor. Great local store.
