El Dorado is my go to restaurant for Mexican. The prices are fantastic, my food always comes out so quick, the employees are always super friendly and I've never had a problem with the waitstaff. Other restaurants in the area always seem to disappoint me with either the amount of food I'm getting for my money, or the quality of the food I'm getting. El Dorado always satisfies me. Oh! I will start out with the food is good and super cheap. I've eaten here quite a few times and always had a good experience. That is until this evening. I ordered through Yelp using Grubhub. I placed an order for pick up. The hostess first thought we were eating in. I informed her we had an order to pick up. She asked what I ordered. Um ok let me think...so I give her our order. As I'm telling her she interrupts and asked for the name. I tell her my name and she starts rattling off other people's names. As if I don't know my name and by her saying everyone's name that has an order it will jar my memory. So, I'm like yeah no. Finally she asks if I called it in. So I explain to her how I ordered. Well she was not impressed and told me that when I place an order for pick up I should call them directly because Grubhub gets a portion of the profits. She was real bent out of shape over it. It was rude and unprofessional for her to tell a customer how to purchase food from their establishment. Not to mention the fact that there were four people waiting behind me while she is giving me the business. DO NOT GO HERE! The service is beyond atrocious. Took one hour from when we ordered til we received 2/3 of out meals. We were informed after 10 more minutes that the third meal was accidentally taken to a different table and they were re-cooking it. As everyone else was already finishing, I declined to wait any longer. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was informed that "she didn't come today, but sent her daughter, so there's no one to speak with." I guess good customer service is a thing of the past. I order take out a few months back and my whole order was screwed up. I had to drive all the way back to have them redo my order. Last night I placed a take out order was told 10 minutes so I gave them 15 minutes and still had to wait. I was there waiting for someone to come to the register so I can pay for my order. When the guy finally came and I mentioned I was here to pick up he said oh someone will be with you. He proceeded to check everyone out that cane in after me only to then say oh I can help you. Fool you could have already taken my payment. Then 5 minutes later he came back with a bag and laid it on the counter. Then he going to tell me miss your food is there. Do I look like a mind reader to know that was my order. There wasn't even a thank you or nothing but I was grateful I didn't give a tip. read more

As a classically trained chef, I rarely expect much from seedy restaurants. In this instance my worst fears came to stunning fruition. The service was lackluster at best, the food was far from authentic, and the management was abysmal to say the least. We walked in and waited a good 5 minutes,probably more before the staff deigned to acknowledge our presence. The host then decides to seat us next to the kitchen, Nevermind the fact the restaurant was practically empty. He then tossed the disgustingly sticky menus on the table before leaving us to wait for what felt like an eternity (probably 10 or more minutes ) for the server to show up to get our drink order. We ordered sweet tea and sangrias, which were delicious. After waiting probably just as long again for our drinks, she shows up with chips and salsa the consistency of water. We ordered quesadillas and tamales. I am a tamale lover, as they are extremely difficult to screw up. Well, this place took something that is deliciously simple, and made it an abomination. I would hesitate to call it food much less a tamale. So, I'm already disappointed, but it gets so much worse. I cut the doughy tamale that was barely filled to find, to my utter disgust, a hair. I stopped a server to ask for a manager. He tries to act like he doesn't get what I'm saying. (maybe not over the blaring tv or radio or whatever) I finally get a manager, and she tries to argue with me saying what was clearly a human hair was corn husk. At this point I'm furious, I convince her to bring me another tamale, only to wait on it for probably 20 minutes. Long enough for the glacial bartender and/or server to make me another sangria, and for me to drink half of it. I then have to wait another 10 minutes on replacement silverware. Honestly if you want "authentic" Mexican food that won't make you wish you were dead before you leave the restaurant. Might I suggest Taco Bell or Chipotle. We will not be returning, also parents beware! they do not card their customers! read more

If 0 stars were an option, I would have chosen it. I do not have many bad dining experiences, but this surpassed all of them. First, they waited 40 min to take our order, then they brought out a single frozen margarita when the table ordered a pitcher of peach margaritas. I asked for a glass without salt and they brought one with it. They then brought out a regular margarita not peach and it tasted like straight mix to all of us. I asked for a shot of tequila and told them I'd pay for it and the manager hesitated to bring it out. As part of our order, we ordered 1 enchilada. They brought out 2 and tried to charge us for 2 even though we told them right away we only ordered 1. The staff we encountered were rude and inattentive. Service was slow and poor. The queso was like water. The chicken nachos literally have nothing on them but more watered down queso and chicken-no other toppings. When the waiter returned and we told him we were not satisfied, he said he could transform the nachos to "supreme" to add toppings. Completely befuddled at why we would not get new food, we asked what else he could recommend. He said McDonalds! And I have to agree that would have been an improvement. I have been here before and liked it. Today's experience left me not wanting to go back again. It took about 3 mins before we were acknowledged and seated. We went at an off time, 345 on Sunday, so I get not having a host their at all times, but within 1 minute we should be greeted and seated, Especially when only 2 other tables taken in the restaurant. Sit down and then wait about another 5 mins before we get our waitress. This is when we were given the chips and salsa. At most Mexican restaurants you are given that right away. Took a few mins to get our drinks (1 sweet tea and 3 waters). Our food then took way too long. Longer then it should take considering at this time we are now the only ones in the restaurant. I got the combo of 2 tacos with ground beef, rice and beans (I opted for black instead of refried and had to pay extra for that). It was as to be expected taste wise. Nothing great, but not terrible either. My hubby got stuffed poblano peppers - the vegetarian ones. He said they were ok but way too much cheese. My 3 year old wanted soup, so we got him the chicken soup. His soup is the only reason I didn't give a 1 star review. It was delicious! Huge bowl with a lot of chicken, rice, tomatoes, onions, avocado, cilantro. It was too big for him to finish so my husband and I finished it and said we should have gotten what he had instead. My 5 year old who only likes "kid food" got a cheeseburger and fries. Her food did not come out with our food. We got our food and hers took almost another 5 mins. She seemed to like what she ate of her burger and fries, but my husband tried a bite of the burger and said it definitely tasted microwaved (no surprise, but still...). Also my husband had to take my son to the bathroom and he said the men's bathroom was really gross. I had to take my daughter as well. It was not terrible, but there were 2 stalls and one of them didn't have the back of the toilet on it, and the other one (the one she used) didn't have a toilet paper holder and just one of those big rolls sitting on the top of the back of the toilet. We also noticed the floors weren't swept and there were a lot of chip crumbs all over. All in all not very clean, so-so food (with the exception of that soup), and slow service considering it was the exact opposite of being busy. I have always been a fan of this restaurant. It's close to work and we eat there often. I had an experience yesterday that requires a 5 star review for the Restaurant as well as the top notch servers. When paying for my delicious lunch from my booth I had loose cash in my wallet and it fell out without my knowledge. ($220, I usually don't carry cash) I didn't realize it was missing until I got home almost 5 hours later. I went back to the restaurant hoping it might have slipped back in the crack of the booth without anyone taking it. No luck but one of the servers said "let me ask around". To my surprise the server that waited on us found the money and turned it in to the manager. The manager had it locked in a file cabinet waiting for someone to claim it. Needless to say I left a big tip and now I'm sharing my story in order for others to know, if you eat at El Dorado's you not only get great food but you will be treated like family (or in some cases better than family). read more

We have not been back for a long time. When we complain about wrong order. The employees get angry and yell at customers. Everything bad. Waiter stick finger in my food.The seats are torn. And the declining service manners from the staff. They have a habit of getting angry at not any tips. And not any good manners to show the customers. They prices are good and a full plate of food. The only problem the bad manners increase from the staff. It could of not gotten any worse. The have a habit of giving wrong orders to the table and refuse to write down the orders. The cashiers talk on the telephone to their friends,gossiping. While ringing up customers. We had to get up from our tables to find employees. they just run away from customers. And not want to come back. And complain not get a tip. The menu is big. And lots of items to choose from. We found another restaurant with a similar menu and prices. They give the food and run away quickly. And not want to come back to our table. We had one who had a habit tried to start fights, talk back rude, rush to get rid of,eat food while wait on,repeat the same questions, keep giving us orders wrong,try to stick fingernails into the skin of our hands,said not write the order down and not a job requirement.
