Amazing! As a Mexican, I may be a little more critical about Mexican food. This place hits the spot. I wish it was busier than it is because it deserves to be busy. Generous servings, tasty meats, delicious sides, and homemade salsas. We tasted the asada, cabeza, and buche which are all top notch. Can't recommend the other meats since we haven't tasted them yet. I ordered their two best seller's: Enchiladas de pollo en Salsa Verde and one Taco (I chose steak/asada for the ingredient). The chicken enchiladas entree actually comes with three in total (and also includes Spanish rice, refried beans, lettuce and sour cream on top). The taco comes with two corn tortillas and your choice of filling. Was very impressed with their food and definitely will be back again! We came here for dinner on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. My husband likes to come here for lunch since it's convenient and most of the teenagers on break from school don't come here. It was my first time and I was excited to try it. It's family run and I always like to support family businesses. I had the pollo plate and it was just okay. I'm usually a big fan of rice and beans, but there really wasn't a whole lot of flavor to them, or my whole meal. The chips and salsa were good, and I liked the fact that there was a station to customize your food with different salsas and pico, etc. which made the meal better thankfully. Maybe I just need to try a different item, but I kept wishing that we had just gone to Chipotle or Nacho House instead. read more

Stopped by El Dorado for lunch and some street tacos. El Dorado is always a solid choice and makes really good tacos. I ordered one of each of the following. - Asada steak. This was my favorite, good flavor, a little crispy, which I like. - Barbacoa, good flavor, but really sloppy, the juices and grease overwhelmed the tortillas and it all fell apart. - Pastor, I'm spoiled by chungas, with a little pineapple added and Luna Del Mar in SLC, and this wasn't as flavorful. - Carnitas, again too juicy and tortilla fell apart. Wife ordered Flautas, chicken and beef. No cheese or sauce, so a little dry, but not bad. Avocados was a nice add. I dipped them in the green salsa and thought they were good. Chips and salsa, the chips were warm and salty. The salsa bar was clean and fresh and allows you to customize your tacos. All in all, really good, but not great. read more

I love family owned restaurants. And I love that the Paz family is serving up street style tacos here in Bountiful. Mama Paz is the head chef while Papa and son Jose are taking care of business up front. But the reviews set the bar pretty high, and my experience didn't quite match on this first visit. I found the carne asada tacos a bit flavorless, dry, and also somehow fatty at the same time. They were fine, but not memorable. I appreciated the fresh salsa bar, which makes it easy to dress up your meal just the way you like it. For dessert, they have flan and tres leches from Juan Pablo's bakery in Orem, which I haven't tried. They also have a freezer full of La Michoacana paletas, all varieties. I'd like to give this place another shot, perhaps on the weekend when food may have been prepared fresh. Im always hoping for great local places to eat in Bountiful, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for a better experience next time. read more

So here's the thing- I am critical of just about everywhere I try in Davis county. This is the exception. I have NEVER had a bad experience or meal here and I have been in enough to be recognized. I like to try different things and there is not one thing I would steer away from here. Some of my favorites are the tostada and Flautas. The chile verde is one of my fave in the state and there is no shortage of flavor, family, freshness, character, and heat if that's your thing. The deserts offerings differ daily, but if you can score a cheesecake, thank me later. read more

Gotta give them koodos for making fresh food, however, I ordered a typical food item and a drink. My lunch was $21. Price alone, I won't go back. I can go to Betos/Rancheritos, get the exact same meal 85% as fresh, but pay only $10. Note: I really wanted to help these guys out too.... but I must go with economics over charity. read more

If I just drove by this place without seeing the reviews on Yelp, I probably would not have stopped. I'm so glad I did. The food and service were excellent. The portions are generous, especially with beef prices right now. You can tell it's made from scratch with lots of care. The beans had a wonderful flavor, beams that have been cooking in a big pot all-day, and the rice was cooked perfectly with a ton of flavor. Only regret is that I live forty minutes away. I will be making the trek to eat here more often than I probably should!:) read more

Eldorado is a perfect example of great "hole in the wall" Mexican, and their place is CLEAN! Our favorite part of the experience was ordering our meals from the friendly cashier whose smile and energy lit up the space - he was a big personality in a small package! Stopped in here with my elderly mom who is SOOOO hard to please these days. The great Yelp reviews swayed me, and boy were we rewarded. El Dorado was delicious!! First off, the chips and salsa are amazing (even though the salsa was 'too spicy' for her - but she thinks anything other than ketchup is spicy). They fry the chips up when you order them! Hot, salty, and perfect with the yummy salsa (which isn't spicy at all, but tastes freshly made). I got her two street tacos - one carnitas and one al pastor, with a side of beans. She liked the al pastor the best, I think - but I'm not sure exactly which one was which if I'm being honest. She loved the beans, and she is a huge connoisseur of refried beans. She liked everything so much that she took the rest home in a box, which she rarely does. I had the flautas plate which came with rice and beans. The flautas are also rolled by hand and cooked when you order them. I was in heaven! Now my goal is to get the word out about El Dorado. Or maybe not so it's not packed when I go back!! read more

The asada and pastor tacos were probably about the best I've ever had. The guac definitely was the best I've had. Chips were pretty good, salsa was good. We went the other night after seeing reviews on yelps. The staff was friendly and appeared that they really wanted the place to do well. We ordered a burrito and plate - really good! We plan to go back for Al a cart tacos. The only knock is that the floors and tables were dirty, however, small staff and it was so busy! I think it's one of those things where they have great food and are doing their best. I hope you give it a try. Ps it's in the building with the bowling alley behind KFC. This Mexican joint is the best in the north salt lake area. All their authentic meats from Carnitas, Babracoa, lengua, to Asada are solid. The Salsa bar is fresh and on point. This is such a cute hole in the wall restaurant. They have the greatest Carnitas and chicken tacos. My favorite is the tostadas. They also have a fresh garnish bar that can pick your toppings. Our family chose to eat here after seeing the 5 reviews on Yelp. It's one of those "hole in the wall" restaurants, which to me is a good sign of great food! We arrived around 4:30 on Saturday afternoon. Only one other party was seated, eating their meal. We ordered 8 tacos ($1.25) One cheese quesadilla ($5.00) One tostada ($3.00) Side of pinto beans ($2.50) Chips and salsa (2.95) Horchata ($1.50) Our total was around $25. The wait was no longer than five minutes before food started coming out: The tortilla chips (lightly salted) came out piping hot with a side of pico de gallo. I love their creamy green salsa from their self serve salsa bar! The tacos were PHENOMENAL! Exactly what I was hoping for: two street size tortillas filled with meat. (We tried five different meats and Asada was definitely the favorite one, however my friend ordered lingua and raved about it!) We were able to garnish as desired from their salsa/condiment bar. I loaded up the cilantro and radishes. (I wish they were thinly sliced instead of cut into rectangular tubes). It was so satisfying: high on flavor and yet so simple. The tostada was AMAZING! My 7- year old daughter loved it! Smothered with beans, meat (asada) and Mexican qotija cheese (we held the lettuce and tomato). She ate the whole thing. Lastly, my 6 year old loved the flour tortilla quesadilla that was served with shredded lettuce and sour cream. My 16 month old enjoyed the side of beans and I thought they were really really good! They were not puréed or chunky, just a good blend of texture and consistency and very lightly flavored. The horchata was dynamite!
