Wasn't sure what to expect, but we had a very good start with the chips and salsa. For a Sunday…read moreevening, they had a pretty good crowd, which is always a good sign. I will say they could use a little better lighting, as the place does look a bit dated, but maybe that's the look they're going for. I've heard this restaurant has been here for about two years, and somehow we didn't know about it until a few weeks ago. Onto the main dishes! I had the Vaca Frita with white rice, black beans, and maduros, and everything was packed with great flavor. My wife had the Birria Tacos, and she said they were excellent. Of course, I had to try the consomme and what a mistake... because now I'm hooked line and sinker. It was so packed with flavor that I even started dipping my Vaca Frita in it. This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, and I mean that in the best possible way. Don't miss out on it! I've seen some people complaining about the gratuity already being included on the check. Stop whining and tip what you should. If you have a problem with tipping, don't go out to eat at a restaurant with waitress service. The additional tip option at the bottom of the receipt is simply there for those who want to leave the full 20% or more. If you don't feel they deserve anything extra, then leave it as is. We will definitely be coming back. The scary part is just how local and convenient this place is. Ha!

So a friend found this place based off their IG page so I was skeptical. I was even more skeptical…read morewhen I pulled into the parking lot which is quite dilapidated and many of the store fronts are empty. However, I know from traveling that some of the best spots are ones that appear to be a hole in the wall. I walked in, very cute inside! Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.

I can't comment on the food because of the customer service. I flew in and landed pretty late (PBI)…read moreso I came here for some food after many hours on a plane. I asked the girl if she could recommend me anything to eat since nothing had any ingredients. I asked her to just recommend things to eat for someone why just got off of a 9nhoir flight, anything that she likes to eat. She responded by saying 'idk what you like" but constantly added the word 'reyna' which maked me feel like she was being condescending. I remained clam and reiterated that I'm just really hungry and tired and ask for a simple recommendation of what they had to offer. I noticed I was then receiving dirty looks from people who came from the back to change the cash register. I don't see why people would be so angry and impatient at someone who doesn't know about Cuban cuisine and simply asking what's good! I just received the same response of "idk what you want" but with the word " reyna", which translates in English to "queen".... Bruh If I was a "queen" you think I could get either a simple explanation of the what's in the food they serve or better yet, just toss some savory foods that are edible - I would have devoured them! Instead I felt stupid, disrespected, and insulted. I don't recommend this place if you're curious to try Cuban foods/pastries because the staff has absolutely no patience or give a shit about any words coming out of your mouth. Havana restaurant is actually very decent. They have really good ox tail

JENY, MARIA, LUNA, LIA & CLAUDIA…read more What an absolute gem of a Cuban bakery! I recently stopped in and treated myself to several Cuban delicacies, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food was bursting with authentic flavor, and you could tell it was made with care. The papas rellenas, yuca, and other pastries were fantastic, and the hot Cuban cafecito was outstanding--rich, smooth, and exactly what a great Cuban coffee should be. What truly made this visit exceptional, however, was the staff. Every single employee was kind, welcoming, patient, and genuinely friendly. Their warmth made me feel like more than just another customer. There was a small mistake on my order, and I was accidentally overcharged for two papas rellenas and one yuca. As soon as it was brought to their attention, they sincerely apologized multiple times and immediately made it right. Their professionalism, honesty, and genuine concern for customer satisfaction spoke volumes about the character of this business. Mistakes can happen anywhere. What matters is how a business responds, and this team handled it with grace, integrity, and kindness. Outstanding food, phenomenal customer service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I will absolutely be back and highly recommend this bakery to anyone looking for authentic Cuban cuisine and some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet.

I've never had a bad meal from here whether breakfast or lunch, they have amazing café con Leche, colada, Pestillos, Sandwiches, and entrées... the ladies working behind the counter are always kind and friendly..
