My new favorite. Only problem is they don't give you rice and beans with the 4 tacos, which are not cheap. But an order of rice and beans is enough for two people. Service is top notch. Friendly, accommodating and always hustling. Ambiance is nice, nice outdoor seating and inside feels legit. Always Hispanic folks eating in there so you know it's legit too. This will be my go to for a while, I just wish the prices hadn't gone up much as they did. But everyone's budgeting now so I get it. 4 tacos and a side of beans and rice can feed two comfortably unless you're both starving. Good salsas. See yall next week. read more

I am a loyal customer and will continue. The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality. The food is always fresh; rice is flavorful and moist, beans are a nice consistency & flavor, and the tortilla is DELICIOUS. Seriously I've never seen a discolored piece of produce and the rice is always fresh. I always order the tacos dorados with chicken, 4 pieces FILLED with shredded chicken and topped with cream & cheese (they do not skimp here). Very filling and, although fried, a nutritious meal. My one comment would be to season the chicken more (I've never been to a place that does though..). But, dipping with the salsa and guacamole completes the dish. The staff clearly loves what they do, and even if I'm saving money on food, I'll still support this business. read more

First time customer. I decided on the chimichanga it was delicious. They are not shy with the steak. I ordered Churros for dessert.

Food was great definitely lives up to the name of it being authentic Mexican food! My mother and I got the molcajete which feeds 3 people great for taking left overs home. Also the tortillas are hand made and fresh. Service was outstanding the waiter was very kind and patience he welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel comfortable. He was also very attentive on if we needed more tortillas or water. For drinks we got the mango water which was fenomenal also tasted like it was freshly made. The ambience was cute as well the theme is Mexican culture the statue and the way it's decorated definitely gives you Mexico vibes. Went to this restaurant after going to the dealership nearby and wanted to give it a try. Had the chicken burrito and was big and filling and wife had the vegetarian version of this and was the same size. May have to try the tacos next time I'm in the area as they have a good amount of menu items to choose from. Worth a try. read more

The rice was very authentic Black beans are not Mexican, I wanted refried pinot beans The food was a little on the bland side The salsa was not traditional either. BYOB which is nice but I think they should have the margarita mixer incase you bring tequila. I guess I am over thinking a hole in the wall. The tacos were okay. chips and salsa were okay. Meat really not seasoned well and not that great of salsa to drench it in. I didn't get the most important thing the guac! I will not be going back. Who'd have thought you'd find a slice of authentic Mexican food nestled in a strip mall off Rte. 88 in Brick. First, the nachos and guac were amazing with such a creamy texture to the guac. The red and green sauces were equally succulent. We ordered the enchiladas and tacos dorados. The enchiladas were delicious with the perfect blend of green and red sauce with mexican grated cheese on top and fresh cilantro. The rice and beans were also very tasty. The staff were so friendly and the Mexican music transported us there. If you're looking for an escape to Mexico and authentic fresh cuisine, then El Guacamole is your best bet. read more

Best Mexican food I've had at the shore. My steak burrito was done just right - the fillings tasty and the tortilla cooked firm and wrapped tightly around the the perfect amount of filling, making it easy to eat in your hand. My husband's chicken fajitas were cooked perfectly; thick juicy strips of chicken sautéed with obviously fresh strips of red bell peppers and onions seasoned nicely. Another generous portion, so the leftovers will be enjoyed at home. The rice and beans were very fresh; the rice was plump and fluffy (not dry like many other restaurants). I especially appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendliness of the all the workers. For its small size, it's big on quality. Will definitely return. read more

We have been going to El Guacamole since the summer and we have never been disappointed. We've tried many menu items and all have been delicious . A family favorite is the Molcajete - our son loves this dish and there is always plenty for left-overs. We've recently tried the Sopes and they are excellent! Very friendly staff too! read more

Such a hidden gem! It's small but the interior is so cute! The ambience is great, the owners are super nice, and the food is incredible! Not only is it authentic but they're accommodating as well. "Camarones Empenizados" wasn't part of their menu (but as I always do whenever I go to a Mexican restaurant) I asked if they could make it for me and without a problem they did it for me! I only know of one spot where they make these so I was ecstatic when they said they would do it for me. Can't wait to go back Point Pleasant needed a place like this. read more

The place was outstanding. The dining room is small but closed due to Covid. The restaurant was spotless...always a good sign. We ordered three dishes and split a dessert on a recent Friday night. Everything was cooked properly, including meeting our request to limit the 'level of Spicy' of one of our entree choices. . Edwin took and served out to-go order. Everything was packed neatly along with the needed utensils. He couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. He knew the menu well and offered suggestions without being pushy. When we arrived home the food was hot, authentic Mexican and very tasty. The Flan Napolitano dessert was great. We couldn't have asked for a better to-go experience. While the first time we went there it was a good experience, the second time not so much. We waited for our food for over 1 hour and 45 min and the service was awful!! It's a shame because the food is good, but without good service nobody is going to wait that long for food, no matter how good the food is!!! There are so many good Mexican Restaurants in the area and we headed to another one and got much better service. Not only did we leave, so did two other tables, they need to concentrate on better management. But no way will we ever go back there again, we might have if someone just apologized, but nobody even did that. Thanks, but no thanks, you guys lost at least 5 customers and then some!!!! read more

Still OK, but... Went back a couple of weeks after my first visiting. Ordered the Chicken Mole. I received two drumsticks (no breast, no thigh, just 2 drum sticks) in a rather bland and soupy mole sauce. Served with rice and beans that were swimming next to the drumsticks in this concoction. The spring onion that was so tasty served with the rice and beans on the previous visit was gone. They gave us a slice of supposedly tres leches cake, but it wasn't - tres leches, that is. The definition of tres leches cake is that it's made with three kinds of milk: whole milk, evaporated milk, and condenced milk. This was an ok cake, but it was not that. We asked for coffee and initially they said they don't have it. Then they said they'll make it special. They shouldn't have bothered. They have to work on their consistency. The last time only the wife was cooking, but tonight the husband seemed to be doing most of the preparation. Not sure what accounted for this change in quality, but maybe the husband should stick to delegating, or maybe we should have stuck to the basics, like tacos. The people here are very nice and earnestly try to accomadate so I would still consider this place for a quick taco, or just for the good chips & salsa, but nothing more complicated than that. read more

Gave it a try tonight and ordered a chicken burrito. Price is okay. It comes with salty rice and beans, chips and salsa. Their salsa is very very watery. I wish the pic can show how watery it is! Maybe that's how it supposed to be??? But I never have had that watery of salsa. The burrito is small, flavor was okay. Nothing wow about it. I had lunch here today and my family & I will definitely be back! The service was great and the atmosphere inside is so cute and clean. The chips and two salsas are delicious: a smoky red salsa and a tangy green salsa. We shared two of the tamales and they were great. My brother who never had tamales before said he loved them too. I got their chimichanga for my meal and it was delicious. It came with a side of their delicious guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream, along with rice and beans. The steak in the chimichanga is so flavorful and the sides were too. As a Mexican food connoisseur, Guacamole is up at the top of my list. We will be back! read more

The food's a bit different from the traditional recipes in my family (I'm half Mexican from Texas with an Abuela from the state of Chihuahua). I had the tamales which were tasty if odd since we wrapped ours in corn husk rather than the banana leaves they cook and serve them in. They also are made with chunks of meat in sauce rather than the shredded or ground pork to which I'm accustomed. They're rather larger than how we make them, but it makes them worth the $2 per tamale price. I also had a chicken chimichanga. The chimichanga itself was very good and also quite large, but the rice and beans weren't great. Ther rice was almost flavorless and the beans had a slightly sour taste to them. The guacamole was decent if in need of a bit more blending since there were huge chunks of avocado in it. Their green sauce and pico de gallo were very good and both tasted very fresh. One of the things I did notice was that some of the fixtures in the fully open kitchen which were overhanging food prep areas were very dusty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a while. There was only one girl there working when I went to pick up our call-in order. So she probably barely keeps up with regular kitchen sanitation. But with one of those prominent dirty fixtures being a faux Spanish tile roof that slants down where customers can see it, it's a good idea to make sure that at least that stays clean because it's so glaringly obvious. read more
