What have I been missing all these years. Taco Tuesday $3 tacos if you want shrimp or fish $4. Margaritas - looked like a fish bowl $5 ! Delicious !!! Brissa our waitress was wonderful very attentive, friendly & welcoming. There was an older gentlemen - I didn't get his name. He was extremely nice, kept coming by to see if all was okay & collected our empty margarita glasses. We ordered the carnitas, chorizo & steak tacos. 6 in total & filling. All delicious especially that they make their own tortillas! Now let's discuss the salsa. Can you make the salsa bowls slightly bigger. My friend invited me to lunch at El G. I'd never been. What a treat! A blink and you'll miss it cozy little restaurant, I was smittened by its charm. We chose a two top on the lovely patio. After ordering sweet tea, we were brought a basket of tortilla chips and some spicy salsa. We ordered guacamole and it was perfect. Onto the main courses: She had the taco trio with black beans/rice and I chose a chile relleno with refried beans/rice. Instead of the usual cheese stuffed poblano pepper I opted for steak + cheese, which also had some veggies in it. Very tasty. El G is a charming place and the servers are nice and efficient. I think this place is great but last order place to go it was not . We ordered two chicken soups to go and when we got home the was barely chicken and two chicken wings and barley veggies . Not how it usually comes which is with actually chicken . I think they gave was whatever was left . I called then and the offer2: me come back and get two soups for free instead just doing a refund (even send pics ) . It was a nice offer but with the holidays and stuff hard to come back. . The food was outstanding! We tried the birria tacos and they were made to perfection. Not too greasy and the exact amount of taste to make it palatable and not overwhelming. The locale itself is charming, with both indoor and outdoor seating. They had deals on drinks and their taco Tuesday is $23 for all you can eat tacos! If you're hungry, bring your appetite for that deal. The parking is a little stressful since it's very tight and running along a major roadway but we lucked out and got parking right away. Just left this amazing establishment and I gotta say the food was absolutely amazing! Hubby and I split the Elote corn and had about three buckets of chips between us and our friends. I had the Birria tacos, hubby had the fried chicken chunks with added onions, our friend Bill had a delicious chicken marinated breast with rice and his awesome wife had the Mexican plate combo, which had so much food! I am so glad I took a chance on this restaurant because we all agreed it will now become a staple in our rotation of places to eat. This is such a lovely restaurant, very authentic, delicious food, and delightful employees! Inside is very cozy. The green they choose inside is calming and refreshing plus I love booth seating anywhere I go. They serve Salvadoran and Mexican food and it is made fresh and tastes amazing! I order the crab and shrimp burrito and they don't skimp on crab meat or shrimp at all! Did I mention they use Real crab meat! Everything was sautéed in fresh garlic, onions, peppers and tomatoes to create the most amazing burrito. Never lacks flavor! The rice was made perfectly and I love that they add veggies into it and the beans refried, smooth and creamy! I always have to get guacamole and chips, I t's a must for me. Came here for their Taco Tuesday special: all-you-can-eat tacos for $19.95, and 2-for-1 mojitos! Get here early if you can, there is almost no parking in their tiny lot, and no other public parking nearby. We sat out on the back patio, which was an awesome little space! They have seating inside as well, but I would recommend the back. We started off with free chips and salsa, which was surprising because so many places don't do that anymore. The mojitos were well made, heavy on the mint (which I liked). We tried a wide variety of tacos- carnitas, chicken, steak, al pastor, and chorizo. We liked all of them, but both agreed the steak was the most tasty! My biggest complaint was that service was SLOW. We didn't seem to have one server dedicated to our table, so people cycled through taking dishes, bringing drinks, etc. Several times we asked for a water refill or more tacos, and whoever we asked seemingly passed the message along to someone else, who would come by about ten minutes later and ask what it was that we wanted. I wasn't in a hurry, but our dinner ended up being very long as a result. Delicious!! I was looking for a Mexican restaurant on Uber eats and had never heard of this place. Gave it a try and it was 10 out of 10! I loved their chicken burrito, chips and guacamole and Mexican street corn. Would order all three again. I also had the tostado which was ok- but since it was to go I imagine it tastes better on site. The food was definitely cooked to order, everything was correct , packaged well so I have no complaints. I have not been to the location so I cannot speak on the service there or location. White rice barely has flavor and this had all the love. These are the flavors that Broward are missing. We need good inexpensive Latino food. Today I was in the area and noticed I was close by so we stopped. It's a small house like restaurant. Indoor/outdoor seating, small space though but quick turnover. No frills, just good food. And fast, friendly and efficient service. It was packed on Taco Tuesday but they moved everyone's orders quick, I love that. I noticed the menu was half mexican half Salvadorian food. I also saw they have unlimited tacos for $19.95 on Taco Tuesday only. I ordered the Chipotle chicken burrito. It was excellent, so much flavor! Came qith refried beans, guac, rice and a green hot sauce for $13. It was a good portion. We also tried the steak flautas that also came qith the same sides. I've been wanting to try this place out for a while -- well we finally did it and we can't get enough! We opted to sit inside, which is small, but there is a patio area with more tables, so don't be intimated by the inside if all the tables are occupied! We shared 2 pupusas as appetizers; pork with beans & cheese and cheese only. They tasted authentic and are of good size. We could've just done with those for our meals. For my main I had the Churrasco Steak and my boyfriend had the Fried Pork Chunks. OMG the steak was probably the most tastiest flavorful steak I've had in a while and I couldn't get enough. It came with their seasoned rice, black beans and plantains and 1 corn tortilla. The corn tortillas were dense and just what the dish needed - it tied it all together. As we pulled up, I recognized it as a place I'd come to before -- right after they opened, but before I was doing yelp reviews -- with a girlfriend. The restaurant is small inside, but out back they have a lovely patio area with tables and chairs. We sat at a high-top table. They have a special lunch menu (ask for it if you are not given it) as well as their regular menu. Three of us ordered from the lunch specials and one from the dinner menu. The restaurant is part Mexican/Spanish and also cuisine from El Salvador. We were given a basket of chips and two cups of mild tomato salsas to start. I ordered their mahi tacos from the lunch special menu. The fried fish was lightly battered and came in soft flour taco shells with lettuce and pico de gallo, a mound of rice, and my choice of side (salad). There was also a small container of very spicy green sauce on the side. My husband got a combo lunch special. It had a beef soft taco, and a beef crispy tostada, refried beans, rice, and (what he enjoyed most) was the enchilada with cheese. Spicy tomatillo sauce on the side. Our friends had a tilapia fish with pico de gallo lunch special and a (dinner portion) steak with white rice, plantains, and black beans. They also shared one of the pork and cheese pupusas. For dessert, my husband and I shared a very good caramel flan. We had a nice time, catching up on conversation, and were not rushed even though inside the place was packed. This is a small Salvadorean / Mexican restaurant on Prospect in Oakland Park. There is some customer parking in front and to the side of the restaurant. They had a lunch menu, which they offered after we asked for it. Many items for $10... usually a protein and two sides. The rice and beans were good, my grilled tilapia was good. My husband's carne asada was very dry and not something that I would get again. The chips and salsa were free for the first basket...they were good...the chips were warm and the salsa chunky. I also ordered a pork and cheese pupusa...it was just OK....not my favorite thing to eat....but I wanted to try it...... Our server was nice and pleasant. You must try the homemade guacamole as an appetizer. It's that good. We tried to keep it secret, but it got discovered. I recently visited El Guanaco for the first time. This is a little quaint place with a handful of tables on the inside as well as a nice little outdoor courtyard dining area in the back, where we were seated for dinner. They have quite an extensive menu which even includes many Salvadorian dishes. I started off with a Michelada (with Modelo), and couldn't believe the size of the drink I was served for only $8. The homemade guac and chips were fresh and delicious. For my entrée, I got the Supreme Fajitas with steak, chicken, and shrimp, which were excellent. My friend went with the Churrasco steak (sorry, no pictures of her dish) which she enjoyed, though did acknowledge she's had better. Overall though, we both enjoyed our meals and the prices were reasonable with the total tab being $74. Being as it was a Tuesday, the place was packed and the service was a bit slow, so for my next dinner visit I'd probably go back on another day of the week or perhaps even for a mid-week lunch, as I noticed on the menu that they did have very inexpensive lunch specials on offer. I came here for a very late lunch/early dinner after reading so many rave reviews on Instagram, and this place did not disappoint. We started with the free chips and salsa for the table. The chips are house-made, and the salsa has a nice kick to it. I got a soda but my husband and kids got the horchata. I am not a horchata connoisseur, but it was very good and very sweet. This restaurant combines traditional Mexican staples with Salvadoran cuisine. We stuck to the typical Mexican suspects. For our mains, we ordered the al pastor burrito, carnitas chimichanga, and the crab and shrimp burrito, and enchiladas. The pork was super tender and flavorful, and the portions of everything were quite generous. I had a crab burrito at La Bamba that wasn't anything to write home about, so I was hesitant to order it. However I took a bite of my son's and it was SO GOOD. Like I literally said I need to come back just to get that crab burrito! Overall we really enjoyed the food here and there are plenty of options for every appetite. I definitely want to try dessert next time too! read more

El Guanaco is a very unassuming El Salvadoran restaurant that serves Mexican fare. And it is one of the restaurants we love because it serves breakfast all day. We had been wanting to see what it was about since 2024. This year, we did. Upon arrival, we received a pleasant greeting and menu. The order booth is just right of the front door. There are seats outside where you can wait for your order, if you prefer. Inside, there is a row of simple tables with bench seats. As you continue farther back, you will see the fancier dining area by the kitchen. Behind the restaurant, is casual "courtyard" seating shaded by patio umbrellas. El Guanaco appears small and unassuming, but it is anything except that! However, parking is limited. If they are packed parking-wise, you may have to park elsewhere nearby, and trek by foot to get there. Regarding the food, it is good. And El Guanaco knows how to make a Pupusa. We ordered and received our orders in a timely manner. It was breakfast and an entrée to get a feel of what both offered. As we stated, both tasted good, proving once again that "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants are often gold mines. Not always, but often. El Guanaco has an "extensive menu", which should have something for all who visit. Just go over it slowly, and you will find various choices you will enjoy! read more

All the staff were really welcoming and I didn't have to wait too long for the food to come out. I went with my neighbor/friend who needs to use a wheelchair and at Guanaco there is a ramp from the parking lot and my neighbor was able to sit in his wheelchair at a table, plenty of room. Guanaco has a very tidy and inviting ambiance with nice music coming out of the speakers, not too loud. All in all I Iike this place and have been planning to visit for a while now.
