First time eating here and my husband and I are very satisfied. Our waitress Ellie was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the mofongo con pollo en salsa. It came with a generous portion of cut chicken breast in a delicious sauce. The mofongo was tasty and not dry at all. My husband had mofongo con pulpo and he thoroughly enjoyed his plate. It is obvious that the person recomending and the people cooking here have never had the real Chinese PR food cause this was not it. Food was amazing chuleta Kan Kan was tender flavorful we had also the steak jibarito with arroz con gandules fresh and tasty .bebo was our server what a great guy. We waited a good 35 minutes for the food to be ready, the waitress did make us aware that there was a wait but if it wasn't because I got up and asked about our order it would have been longer. The cooks are more focus on the take out orders that the dinning in. The carne frita was over cooked and extremely dry, the stuff empanadas are not really worth it. Terrible experience. The "PR-Chinese" food they promote is nothing like the one in PR. It tasted like it was made by people who have never had chino-boricua, saw a picture, tried to recreate it, but the flavors weren't there at all. The rice tasted like they didn't add any soy sauce, the ribs were bone in (the classic ones in chino-boricua cuisine are boneless) & they used a little bit of a questionable red sauce instead of the Cantonese bbq pork sauce. Ribs were dry & flavorless. The tostones barely had any garlic. The chino-boricua tostones are know to be garlic heavy. These had no salt & barely any garlic. Everything was so disappointing. I have second hand-embarrassment & hope no one thinks this is a representation of chino-boricua cuisine. Mind you, we also waited 30 minutes to get drinks we ordered & almost another hour for the food. At one point a cook asked if we had gotten our food because he noticed we had been sitting there for so long. Why is he on it & not the server? We had to ask for the menu like 30 minutes in because it was never brought out & when the server finally came to take our order she just stood there with a blank stare, no explanation of anything on the menu. When we asked a question about the food she acted like we should know the answer but it was our first time there & it's your job to explain certain things. Pretty busy spot - definitely could have used another server as ours got a little frustrated with having to split our check and serve all the tables. A couple things we ordered came out wrong also. Update... The food tastes better on the weekdays than the weekend and when the man is there. Came in today (Saturday) arroz con dules was not fresh, the chicken was dry and the huge alcapurrias was microwaved and served lukewarm. It barely had any ingredients inside just meat. Famous for his food truck in Rosemont, people are flocking to the newly open establishment in Humboldt Park, everything is made fresh to order so you will definitely be waiting for your meal. You'll see items on the menu emulating typical Puerto Rican fare, yet, pinchomofongo unlike anything you've ever seen. The portions are incredibly generous, and bursting with flavor. Service is slower than what you would anticipate but the staff is super friendly and it seems as if a lot of people that come in are regulars. The plaintain on the Jibarito sandwich is said to be the crispiest crunch, and no one can yet figure out how he does it! They definitely need to staff up with their help, decor is simple yet clean. No frills at this joint! Side note, even though the wait time on the food was long and they need more personnel, I am giving a 5 star review as the owner personally came up to us and asked what could be done to make things better. F- for Fantastic Failure. We ordered 3 types of mofongo and all three were tasteless. Service was horrible and then the kicker they were tried charging market price for the meal. The server told us that the prices on the menu were codes not prices. We argued with the owner to be charged correctly. WTH what kind of restaurant charges MP without notifying their customers or having it on the menu as MP. Totally absurd. There are plenty of better restaurants out there serving PR food. read more

Horrible waitress. She did not know how to serve a table. Hovering over from one side and being rude. She took really long to bring the food and after the long wait only brought one of the orders and waited 20 minutes longer to bring the other plate after my husband was served. It was ridiculous. What a dump! Where do I start? First of all, we waited two hours for our food only (Read reviews this is common here) to have raw chicken/food delivered. I asked for yellow rice with pigeon peas and they bring me white rice. The Amarijo were disgusting they were raw plantains. The waiter wanted to give me the food for free but this is not me. The music is so load you can't have a conversation/much less get the food you ordered. You can't have a conversation with your date that's why we go out. This is a restaurant not a disco.. Now that we been in line so long a table opens up so I go sit at the table and my husband starts to order at the counter the lady states have a sit in take your order at the table....NOW 30 minutes in she comes to the table and realized the people behind us haven't had there order taken and asks us to wait again. Seems like the workers have NO CLUE WHATS GOING ON. such a disappointment went there because of the rave reviews, but walked out because they couldn't figure out how to attend customers. The worst service I have ever received from a restaurant. I ordered food and Waited over an hour to ask what happened to my order. The waiter stated they are making it now. I saw her rushing to the system to put the food in. instead of apologizing and explaining that there was a mistake she chose to lie. When I made the chose to cancel the Order the owner came up to me yell that I was wrong for that. She didn't even let me talk. A few minutes later she can apologize.
