Wow, we were obsessed with this gem! I was a bit concerned with the reviews about the size. This little private beach is just about 15 minutes from home. The parking was free, which I heard it is usually during the week, it's conveniently located near the beach. It is quite small, so I'm assuming it packs up very quick but luckily we got there early and there was not a lot of people. The beach itself was very clean and peaceful. There was even kids in there fishing. Coming from California we were very surprised to see that the water was warm. We are most definitely coming back. read more

Such a pleasant surprise! As you drive past the oil refineries, shipping businesses and then through a green, beach neighborhood and the road to El Jardin quickly opens up to a beach that feels like a beach! This is a neighborhood beach and you need to pay $10 per adult on the weekend, cash and a park attendant takes the money before you enter the parking lot. It is a small lot. There are port a potties, trash cans, picnic tables, a place to rinse sand off feet and bodies and those are the extent of park amenities. We made an epic sand castle and had an amazing time. The water is..gulf coast water, but we had a great day and you can check bacteria counts before you head out. read more

Nice spot to enjoy the breeze and sun. The water isn't nice to swim in, and I grew up swimming in the bayous of South Louisiana. I did get in the water some, but I felt kinda gross after. Might have just been me. I saw lots of people get in the water, including kids. The surf was very high when I was there today. The southerly wind and barges passing brought a few wakes all the way up to the grass at the edge of the beach. We had to hold down chairs, tables, and even heavy coolers at times. Just be sure that if the tide is high, have enough people there to hold onto your stuff! read more

The Secret Beach. Look parking is limited now cause word has gotten out. So now they charge to get in, during the summer. It's like 10 bucks a car. Get there early. Cause parking feels up fast. read more

This is a nice little (and I mean LITTLE) beach park in Seabrook. Everyone there is friendly and the neighborhood residents are as well. Just don't disrespect their beach! Side note- I saw a HUGE snake in the walk way in to the beach. It's Texas- we have snakes everywhere. And I know this was not a nice one. Do not recommend going into the brush. read more

This place was supposed to be nice for it's reviews but unfortunately it's close. Neighbors around said it's been close without notice. And sad part is the private lot beside it have people having picnics and enjoying the beach front. Drove to there for 2 hours for nothing. read more

Nice small beach the water was freezing cold and the sand was kind of rough kind of in a weird area too. Not really a touristy place

I went there for my first time and had to say it was everything I really enjoyed myself I went into the water it wasn't that's cold just Ohk and the people was very friendly. Not to include that's it's a private beach and it's has a limit on people so that's make it greater beautiful view of houses water boats jetskii and much more if you have nuthin to do on a Saturday go here but pls be early and take a load off. Nice change up from going down to Galveston. Only down fall is lack of parking. Also, when big cargo ships are coming into port, it can send a killer wave -- we definitely had our setup washed away a couple times. But, definitely worth a try! Nice hidden pocket in the Seabrook area! read more

It was ok. There is a small parking lot. If you aren't a resident of Pasadena you pay to enter (adults $10 each) cash only. The beach was pretty quiet, there was more trash than I would expect but it's the Gulf so it's pretty much what you would expect. No fires on the beach. There is a port-o-potty. Lots of trash cans even tho it's all over the place. We saw lots of vultures when we first got there and lots of seagulls. There were a bunch of smallish fish jumping up out of the water! It was neat. I saw reviews of people saying they had to walk a long way. I'm not sure where you would park to walk from. The beach is surrounded by a residential neighborhood with lots of no parking signs. read more

This place is a dirty stink hole. Tons of people from everywhere. Dirty baby diapers littered around. Neighbors are not friendly because you're in their neighborhood. Stay away there's other places to go. Also, if you do not live in Pasadena, they will charge you on weekends. read more

The beach is really nice and that's the only reason why I am giving it 2 stars. The locals who lock it up and keep it for themselves are the reason why I'm giving it such a bad rating. I come to this beach about 5 times a year because I have family who lives in the Houston/Baytown area, and this beach is rarely open to outsiders. It's a beautiful beach with a lot of marine life, but it's being hogged by locals. Don't waste your time driving down to this beach because the gate will more than likely be locked. Am I crazy? Why was this "beach" rated so high? It's a very small patch of beach, a fair amount of garbage on the sand, and the ocean was in an inlet surrounded by barges which made me question the water integrity more than I typically would. It's tucked far back from any main roads and took us awhile to find. It's very isolated and I was glad to see there were a fair amount of people there. It was ok for a quick trip but I can't see spending more than an hour there and I didn't feel like it was clean enough to let my young son swim in. If you need a quick beach fix this will do but if you're looking for an area to bring the family and set up camp for the day you can, and should, do better. read more

Finding this little gem saved the beach day for me and my dog. After being turned away from Sylvan beach because of a festival (they had the whole beach fenced off and were not allowing pets inside), I was able to drive an extra 7 miles down the road to this El Jardin beach. Parking was free, but limited to about 20 spots within the lot. We visited on Saturday, April 30 and were not charged admission. The beach was only about 200 yards long, but not crowded. This was a super pet friendly place and everyone had their pets on a leash, except for a couple of dogs out on surf boards in the water with their humans. There were plenty of trash cans along the outer edge of the beach, so that helps maintain a trash - free environment along the sand and shoreline. Very glad for this beach. read more
