We did the Pelicans and Pirates Pontoon tour. Incredible experience! The pontoon is electric so it's silent and the tour down the bayou was beautiful. Getting to be in the bayou at night was a special experience.

Have been going here since I was a kid and im trying to get my kids into loving animals like I do. Mostly a great experience and most staff is amazing but they also have staff like Tyson who yelled at me and my 2 children 7, and 5 years old. Told me I was a bad father, used the f word, a word and called me a retard... all for using our walking sticks to stir up the water looking for animals. He should not be around children and take an anger class. If you can avoid him its a great for animal lovers

I took my family to the golden jubilee and we had a blast! It's great on a regular day as well, though. I highly recommend it.

Critters crawl was a lot of fun. The staff were nice and the decorations fun. Weather was perfect too.

Really great little nature center with a well maintained network of hiking trails. Lots of educational opportunities here as well as a great chance to enjoy the nature being preserved in this area. There is a bison enclosure where you can observe several bison from a viewing platform. I also saw lots of deer and birds on my visit. It's recommended that you purchase your admission in advance and check in at the entrance window.

Our group took the guided tour on the electric tram. What a great way to get a two hour introduction to the center and natural history of bayous and prairies. Our guide, Gene, was knowledgeable and funny. We all enjoyed him. And our older group appreciated not having to walk too much.

I had an absolutely enjoyable day with a couple of friends at the Armand Bayou Nature Center in Seabrook, Texas. We walked two miles, took lots of fun photos, saw an alligator, heard the birds twittering, smelled the pines, and enjoyed hearing the crunch of our feet on stone and leaf-covered trails. I couldn't bring Oreo, so that was a disappointment, but I understand it being a nature preserve why they want no pets. There are several trails you can go on; we went on the least-wet one, the Karankawa trail, as it had rained all day the day before. It was completely dry. There are tons of activities (See photo) including pontoon tours of the lake areas on the weekends; I'd love to go on that! This place is one of my highly-recommended walking tours. It has something for everyone!

Located less than 30 minutes from downtown Houston Texas is one of the largest nature centers in the United States that is located in an urban area. Armand Bayou nature Center is absolutely beautiful. It has multiple trails to hike as well as unbelievable wildlife. You'll see alligators, snakes, birds, bison, and many other types of wildlife while experiencing nature that has been untouched!

Our grandsons - 10 years old - loved seeing the 'gators. They were smart enough to avoid getting too close to them.

Great place to launch your kayak. Tons of wildlife. Be careful though, the bigger alligators can be aggressive.

Is this trail/nature center dog friendly? I thought I saw a post saying it was not, but I wasn't able to find it again. I would think an open park/trail wouldn't have issues with dogs but now the seed of doubt is in my mind.…

Thank you for asking, Cristy. Your recollection is correct, ABNC does not allow dogs on our trails or grounds. Our goal is to provide a refuge for the remnant wildlife that is native to this region, and an opportunity for visitors to observe them… Read more

We arrived here on the last Sunday of the year. December 28, 2025. It was very auspicious for sure. We found parking at around 7:45pm and had people directing us where to park. We found parking and walked towards the entrance and waited for my friend's friends to show up. After introductions, we entered the botanical park and my friend scanned all the tickets for our group to enter. I'm not sure how much those tickets costs, but I'm sure it was worth every penny. We probably spent about 1 1/2 hours here from start to finish. We tried to stay close to together, walking close together and enjoying the lit up displays along the way. It was cool how everything was themed. From animals and insects to the many Chinese astrology animals. We even asked each other about who is what sign and we all tried to find where our Chinese animal was. It was a fun experience to have with friends on a Sunday evening. A lot of trees and signage were decorated with a lot of lights and festive themes. It was a beautiful night to be out and about. Thanks to my friends and new friends who have helped me enjoy the last Sunday of 2025 with a paid admission. It was cool that there was a lot of families and children out and about. Weather was good that night. No need to put on layers. There were food vendors in the park that night but we ate dinner prior to coming out to the Houston Botanical Gardens. The overall experience here at the Houston Botanical Gardens was very cool. Just saw the gardens at night which was cool but not during the day when it can be very therapeutic and calming as well. Still, the most beautiful thing about the lights event is that it brings people together during the holidays. Brings out the humanity in people when life seems to be on edge these days. The atmosphere that night was decidedly electric and plenty of people were around to make it better. I forgot to take photos that evening but the memories will live with me forever. For the most part though, I enjoyed myself here, seeing something different than the usual tourist thing in Houston at night. The asphalt paths was marked and there was no problem navigating around the garden. It felt smaller than it was but then again, I was following friends around without realizing how large the botanical garden really was. And so, it was just the right place that I needed to be. Enjoying the vacation with friends before doing something in Missouri City 2 days later. Maybe I should not have walked around too much that evening, but it's been a good way to be active out here at the Houston Botanical Gardens than sitting around at the house. I'm pretty sure that the lights show that I attended here is a seasonal event, so I'm assuming that they just have it annually. Not sure about other events at the HBG, but definitely check them out if you are interested and in the Houston area. Just happened to be here during the holidays in 2025. The Houston Botanical Garden is a beautiful place that's located centrally in the city of Houston, Texas. It's physically located at 1 Botanic Lane, Houston. I'm sure they accept major credit cards as well as cash for their online ticketing and people who pay at the entrance on a daily basis. As far as parking goes, there's quite a bit of parking stalls here. Albeit being at night, I figured that it was large enough to fit about 75-100 cars at any given time. I'm not sure about public transportation options, since I'm a visitor to Houston, but you can double check with the local transportation authority and see which routes are applicable and appropriate for your next trip to the Houston Botanical Gardens. Best thing to do is to have your own car, rent one, or hit up your local Houston friends to hang out at the Houston Botanical Gardens next time they're available. And of course, there is Uber and Lyft if you need their services as well. The admission fee is reasonable for anyone and everyone to help maintain the gardens. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable about the native plants that's being cared for here. There's signage that helps you identify all the plant species that are here at the HBG. Do yourself a favor and come down to The Houston Botanical Gardens on your next trip to Houston. It may be the place you need to start or end your day. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+

The only issue was the parking lot at HBG. Upon arrival, we were told the lot was full and that we would have to park at the Monroe park and ride.

We would definitely consider hosting another event there and would recommend it to others. The facility is well set up and can handle its advertised duties, but the real story is the service provided by the staff. The staff and DJ did a great job of accommodating our party. We brought in outside catering, selected our own music, and spent a long time transforming the facility with a different look and feel. In short, we were particular, and the staff worked very well with us and all the parties involved to make it a success. My daughter and I selected music and I built a slideshow. Chris, the DJ (and either the husband of the owner or co-owner, I didn't ask), did a great job of working the music together to make a great program. We selected some music that wasn't traditional for a teeny-boppy party, and he sequenced it beautifully to engage the entire audience - even the grandparents were dancing! We also changed the program slightly during the event and again he kept up very well. If you are bringing in your own music and slideshow, make sure you follow Chris's directions so that you get the results you are looking for. I brought a few different file types of the slideshow in case there were difficulties playing one on their computer, but there weren't . The food and beverage accommodations are good, although we did not prepare food there, nor did we serve alcoholic beverages. We had dining catered by Gina's restaurant of Clear Lake, and they worked well with the Enchanted Gardens staff. We had a few family members arrive after the dinner was cleared, but the staff reheated and served them food. The service we had included sodas, tea, and water. For an additional fee, they served coffee. About the only drawback is that the facility is a little hard to find. We had a few guests that had difficulty finding the place. There are several factors for this; first is its actual location. It is situated in a strip shopping center that doesn't look like it would accommodate an event facility. Secondly, there is not a sign by the road, so finding the exact entrance in the dark was a little challenging. Third, it appears as though some search engines (including google/yelp) appear to show this near FM 517 even though it is near 146 (some 30 minutes the other direction). We learned of this from some very persistent guests. I hope to submit a request to fix this, but I would highly recommend that you include a map to the facility or directions with your invitation.
