We recently did a tour with El Jefe to see the Arch of Cabo and overall had a great time. We booked our tickets through Booking.com with an 11:00 am check-in. When we arrived, we were told we'd need to wait until 11:30 unless we wanted to pay extra to add whale watching and beach visits, which we declined. We ultimately boarded almost an hour after our scheduled time.
The booking also specified a glass-bottom boat, which ours did not have, and there was no complimentary water on board. So admittedly, the experience started off a little rough.
That said, our tour guide, Raul, and his son truly turned things around. We shared the boat with two other couples, and Raul was bilingual, pointing out landmarks along the way and sharing fun, imaginative stories about the rock formations near the Arch. He even handed out pieces of bread so we could feed the fish and seagulls, which made the ride extra interactive. There were plenty of photo opportunities, and once we were out on the water, the experience felt engaging and worthwhile for the price.
Overall, I'd still recommend the tour, just be prepared for possible delays. If you do end up waiting, there's a nearby mall by Pier D with free restrooms, AC, and plenty of seating to make the time more comfortable. read more
