It is a casual restaurant and seems to bring in a lot of regulars. If you are dining in, you seat yourself, and a waitress will bring a menu. You order at the counter if it is to go. Service was friendly and attentive. All of the staff were welcoming and made me feel like I belonged. Dale's serves old-style Calabash seafood; steaks, soups and salads make up the menu. I went with boiled shrimp, not knowing how large the portion would be. It came with sides and a trip to the salad bar. It was a lot of food. The baked potato was amazing and large with extra butter. I'm not normally a fan of coleslaw, but this I would have loved more. Seasoning for the shrimp was on the table so you could season it how you like. Then they were generous with the hush puppies, too. I took most of the shrimp with me and was even given a cup of tea to go. Even though it was raining, I did walk out to the water. The soft, hazy view was kind of peaceful. I am sure it is beautiful in drier conditions too. The state is currently in a drought, so I appreciated the rain.

I absolutely love this place and is one of my favorite places to stop before I head to Myrtle Beach. It's located in Calabash, NC so it's like 10 minutes before you get to the SC boarder. It might be shorter than that. But anyway, I love coming here obviously the food is fresh and fantastic. They have plenty of outdoor seating and it's always nice and clean. The staff is wonderful. I love that every time I've come, I'm always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. Everything that I've tried has been great. And they have lots of options. Check out my pics and I'm a creature of habit so I got the same thing but one thing I did try was the Wahoo fish. It was perfect and I'd never had it before. I can see this easily being a fan favorite. And lastly the dessert. I highly recommend getting the fried pound cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's heavenly. Although, not pictured, they have a great pumpkin pie. Follow their Instagram for updates because they do close down I want to say the Thanksgiving day up until Spring so about March or April. I honestly can't think of any better fried seafood I have had. There have been some places that come close, but you can get world-class fried seafood in Whiteville NC if you know where to find it. It's a little hard to find as it is not on the main drag and the signage is lacking. Make sure you bring cash as they do not take credit/debit card. I think if they did, they would do a better business as their prices are moderate. They are a little more expensive than the places that take it out of the freezer and drop it in the fryer.
