What an amazing place in such a small town. This restaurant would rival anything in Raleigh or Carey. Even Asheville. The food and the staff are amazing. And the ambiance is spot on. We had the rabbit with pasta on special and the fried green tomatoes. Delicious. If you are in Whitesville, splurge to your amazement this place exists in such a small town.

My husband and I dined here this past Friday (16 August 2024). It's an hour away from where we live in Leland. One couple joined us for the evening and it was a first visit for all of us. Another friend of ours had recommended this place a few months back, as well as my husband's doctor (on a recent visit) who works in Whiteville. The interior provides a casual atmosphere with black table clothes and chairs, street lamps, and potted plants around the room. The tables are nicely set apart. While this place is casual - no need to dress up - the food and service is excellent. Kimberly was our waitress, who was attentive and patient while we went through the menu trying to decide what to order. So many good choices! The menu is a mix of French and Asian foods. Both couples ordered the Cambodian eggrolls and fiery sweet Thai shrimp appetizers. In addition, one friend ordered the onion soup (bowl). While waiting for our appetizers, Chef Sokun came to our table and talked with us for a few minutes. She also wanted to make sure we knew how to eat the Cambodian eggrolls, as well as welcoming us. Yes, my husband and I knew how: take a lettuce leaf, place the roll, mint, peanuts and dipping sauce on top, roll it up and eat. My husband and I have a favorite restaurant in Hawaii that serves the eggrolls in the same manner. The four rolls were filled with minced chicken and other fresh ingredients; the wrappers were thin and crispy. The Thai shrimp was a large portion, about 8-9 shrimp. They were breaded and fried, and topped with a delicious sauce. Both appetizers were excellent. Such wonderful flavors. We could have shared the appetizers but we wanted our own. For my entrée (and one friend), I had the Beef Bourguignon, which is served with rice. I asked to have roasted potatoes in lieu of the rice. The meat was tender, no knife is needed. The vegetables were nicely cooked in the herb and wine sauce. My husband (and our other friend) had the Cambodian beef, served with jasmine rice. Another excellent dish. The food is outstanding (they use locally sourced, fresh ingredients) and reasonable prices for what you get. Fresh baked bread and butter was served at the table. There is a full bar and a nice long list of wines. I had the "not so classic cosmo" that was very tasty and went down easily. With my entrée, I had a glass of the Cotes due Rhone. The 'Frog' is Guillaume, Chef Sokun's husband, owner of the place. He came to the table a couple of times. On the second time after we finished our meal, we invited him to sit with us, so we all talked for a while. He was very personable and we enjoyed talking to him. I wish they were closer to where we live. We'll have to go back and spend an afternoon in town before having dinner there again (or maybe brunch!). There are other dishes that I want to try. So glad we came here!

The owners are very kind. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is incredible. Today we each had 2oz of A5 Wagu and it was worth every penny. We all also had the Cambodian beef. We get that almost every time. This place is a must!!!

We stumbled upon this diamond in the rough about 8 months ago. We have been back almost every weekend. Every time we have the best experience and leave satiated. Service is phenomenal, owners are so kind and welcoming, and the food... so delish! There is always a surf and a turf special for dinner service and we usually each get one of the specials. You have to check this place out if you're in the Whiteville area.

I was very excited to try this place based on the reviews and photos. We arrived around 11:40am. We were the first people in the restaurant. Someone came by to grab our drink and food order at 12. By 12:20 we finally got our soft drinks. There was another table sat 30 mins after us and got his food well before we got ours. We ordered a grilled cheese, chicken cordon bleu, and steak and eggs. At 12:40 we were told our food was being plated and that's only when we flagged someone down to ask. Nobody came by to check on us or give refills until our food got to the table at 12:58. I ordered the red wine sauce for my ribeye, however they didn't tell me they didn't have any until after they brought the food out. Throughout the entire time nobody checked on us except when they took the order, we flagged them down, or we asked for the bill. Food was not great. They had a lunch menu online which I was looking forward to, however i believe they don't offer lunch on sundays and it's only brunch. For the quality of everything we got, I almost wish we would have just went through a drive thru. EDIT to add because I cant reply to the business owners comment. I never once mentioned anything about being mad about not getting a military discount. We asked, she said no and i responded "that's okay, no biggie" so I have no idea how that means I was really mad about that or how that upset me the most. That's funny. Also just people for that reservation were starting to walk in the same time as us.

Small, clearly-family, little breakfast/lunch place right next to a Kroger. The menu is limited…read more(and their website is down right now), but I added updated photos of the September 2025 menu. They mostly have your standard breakfast fare along with some sandwiches. There are only a few tables, but they aren't cramped. You order at the counter and just take a seat, and your food and drinks will be served to you. I'd guess there's only two people working here on a random weekday. Expect your food to take a bit, but it's completely fresh, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were large but balanced. I often can't finish sweet crepes due to getting sugar'd out. This one felt very focused on the fruit and allowing the Nutella to take a passenger, enhancing vibe instead. Omelette was cheese-central. I might ask for lighter cheese next time, but it was ridiculously delicious too. Croissants were SUPER light and fluffy, and they get served warm for you. Really tasty, perfectly baked. Bathroom was a single unisex room and older, but it was clean. Two booths that'll seat four people as well as multiple two-person tables with wooden, no-armed chairs. No stairs, and while it'd be a tight fit, a wheelchair could fit in here. (I don't think the bathroom is wheelchair accessible, though.) The guy running the place wasn't super friendly, but he wasn't *unfriendly*, and he was very efficient. He also popped in to see if we needed things and was there to deliver silverware and other things before we asked for them. If staff reads this: please replace/update the folded, faded paper signs on the outside of the building. That's part of why we haven't given this place a try in so long - and I'm sad we hadn't!

We are back in Myrtle Beach and we took my sister in law here for her birthday. This visit is the…read moresame as every visit: excellent and a true fine dining experience. We were promptly seated for our reservation and welcomed by our waiter. The pace is relaxed and not rushed. The specials were mentioned and questions were answered readily. We had time to read the drink and wine menus as well as the dinner menu. We ordered drinks which were delicious and arrived in nice time. Again, well-paced and no rushing. Then we ordered our meals complete; the staff then paces so everything arrives at the same time for the table. As such, the ladies had the chicken and pasta dish while I ordered the steak au pauve. My steak is prepared table side so the timing of kitchen and waiter must be good so that the dishes are complete and served at the same time. They were. I also had a Cesar salad that is prepared table side and all salads are served with chilled forks. Salads were excellent as was dinner. They had the blueberry dessert and I stuck with table side preparation and had the cherries jubilee. Everything was so tasty. As usual, the meal was a lovely event and a wonderful time. We love this place, and are happy to make plans to enjoy a meal whenever in Myrtle. The dining room is cozy and romantic with maybe 12 tables. Check the pics and vids.

I…read moregave him a short list of restaurants and he chose the Library...which I quickly agreed to. We got there early to enjoy some happy hour drinks at the bar. The bartender was friendly with some great stories, but more importantly he knew how to make a proper martini. It was great. After a cocktail and a glass of 1/2 off wine we went to the host stand to be seated. The staff were very accommodating and polite. They hustled us to a nice sized table, gave us menus and took our water order(we had drinks already). Our waiter came back quickly and went over the specials. We took a minute to digest them and scan the menu. He showed up again in a few minutes and we put our order in. We decided on the table side Caesar Salad for two and the escargots(I had heard they are known for). My friend ordered the crusted lamb chops...rare and I went for the surf and turf with a 10oz filet. Interestingly, they only had filet mignon as their meat option that night, which worked well for me but might have been a problem for others. While we waited I was able to take a look at the place. It was a slightly modern layout with books lining the top of the walls and a large fireplace against one side. The tables were well spread out and each waiter has a section that was small enough for them to provide the service needed for a high end dining experience. The only issue I found with the ambiance was the dress of roughly half the patrons. If you are at a fine dining establishment and about to spend $400 on a dinner for two, you would like to be around people who aren't dressed as if they just mowed the lawn or rolled out of bed. I saw way too many "hoodies, jeans" and "baseball caps" for my liking. I could have been in a fast food restaurant. IMO, there should be at least some sort of a dress code. After a few minutes, we were treated to a soft, delicious hot roll with creamy butter as well as the escargots. The snails were perfect...flavorful with just enough garlic and super soft. My friend kept dipping his bread in the escargot sauce..it was that good. Next was the Caesar salad which was semi-made at table side(there seems to be some kind of law against raw eggs in a dining room). Although we didn't get the full show, the salad was great..the lettuce fresh and the dressing spot on...maybe a bit too much but still fine. After we finished our salad and apps the main course came out. My filet was cooked perfectly and was done exactly medium rare, soft and tender...no complaints. The lobster tail, which was also stuffed with shrimp and served with clarified butter was great. I looked over at my friend(which was hard as he was stuffing lamb chop after lamb chop into his mouth!) and asked him how his was and he was able to pry his mouth away from a chop to say "perfect". We finished up and the waiter began chatting up the desserts. I was stuffed but my dining companion wanted to keep going. He ordered one of the "specials" which consisted of a peanut butter cheese cake with bananas foster on top...we were in for another table side show. Within minutes our waiter wheeled the cart out and began lighting a fire. He quickly cooked the bananas with rum and put together this decadent concoction. He set up an extra spoon for me and I did sneak in a few bites...I could feel my sugar levels rising with just 3 spoonfuls...worth it though...it was that good. Afterwards the bill came and my friend graciously picked up the tab...it was not cheap, but worth every penny. Overall, it was a very good dining experience, the bar, food and service were great...5 star, but it loses a star because of the dress of the patrons which negatively impacted the dining experience. They really need to install a dress code because it is a fine dining establishment and everything counts at these prices. That food was so good that I will probably go back...maybe I'll wear a tux to drive home my point.
