If you want a true Sonora hotdog come here. It's fantastic! I've tried other places and they don't measure up.

Rolled into Tucson late on Thursday night and needing a bite to eat we ended up here. We had our…read moredoubts but they were quickly quieted away. Yes the place is in not the best neighborhood but the burrito makes up for it. At first I was a little worried when I read mayo as an ingredient in their carne asada burrito but i figured it's there for a reason and ordered as is. It was 10/10 delish! The meat was perfect the tortilla was killer! So good that on our last day in town we picked up breakfast burritos from there. Sooooo giant and soooo delish! Thank you!

Got into my hotel at 9 and started to feel hungry! After a quick search, I found "bacon wrapped…read moreburrito" and that was the obvious choice. Percheron Mexican grill is just a food truck with some outdoor covered seating. If that's not your thing, they also have a real restaurant 3 minutes away. The menu is pretty sizable (literally and physically)! The classic Percheron is diezmillo steak, mozzarella, avocado, tomato, onion, mayo, wrapped in a flour tortilla and bacon! $15. I was behind two parties of two and my food took 15 minutes. I opted to take the food to go, since it was 9:45 pm. Thats always a risk because the food might not be as fresh as when it's freshly served. The woman ahead of me asked for well done crispy bacon wrap. I should have done the same, but I wanted to try it the standard way first. I really wanted to love this, but the standard soggy bacon wrap is not my thing. My stomach could not cope with the grease either -- this looks like pretty low quality bacon that is mostly fat. I was pretty disappointed and only finished half!

Tucson is home to some of the best Mexican food, and Aqui Con El Nene is a great example of that…read more It's been a while since my last visit at this location, so I stopped by on a Thursday night. It wasn't too busy, and the service was fast and friendly. You order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. They also have a salsa bar with a variety of options. Everything was stocked and clean. I ordered two Quesabirria tacos ($5.85 each) and a Horchata ($4.32). Everything was soo delicious. I definitely want to visit again and explore more of the menu. If it wasn't for the distance, I'd be going here more frequently! Visited 3/19/26

Aqui Con Nene comes up a lot in discourse over good Carne Asada as well as being a great Tucson…read morestaple. I will say, that Nene isn't a bad resturant. I mean, is it a must try? No. I think you can live in Tucson, or visit Tucson and never try this place and you'd not miss it. I will say though the Sonaran Hot Dogs are good. The Al Pastor is good. Those definitely are solid options. But none of it is great. Not to the degree of giving this a high marked review, you know? It's definitely "Tucson Good". Which to real foodies, is barely okay most of the time. I've been to this location several times, and finally just stopped. Even had a date here. The service has never been exceptional, it's hit or miss on cleanliness, and the food is just okay. The Carne Asada is absolute trash, and I despise that it's mentioned as one of the best in the city, cause it is NOT. See my other Tucson reviews as I go out of my way to try Carne Asada here. Nene isnt good enough to be mentioned there. This place is barely okay, and it might do for a quick hot dog, but otherwise of that, nah.

It comes with caldo, limes, and salsas. They're not tiny little tacos, these things are massive and worth every cent. The workers are always super nice and helpful. Birria Munchies Truck - A Total Hit…read more Birria Munchies Truck pulled up to my apartment complex on Tuesday, and let me tell you, the hype was real. They sold out fast, and when they came back on Thursday, I made sure I was first in line no way I was risking missing out twice. Their menu is incredibly easy to read, streamlined, and straight to the point: it's all about the birria. They keep the payment process simple too, cash or card, no drama, just efficiency. I ordered a birria taco and a mulita, which is basically a double-tortilla birria quesadilla situation, and both were absolute standouts. Prices are on point, especially for the quality. You can literally smell the birria before you even get close to the truck. The meat is juicy and seasoned perfectly; you can taste every layer of flavor. And the cheese? I'm convinced they're using Oaxaca cheese because it is incredibly rich and melts just right. I'm not sure where their permanent spot is, but if you ever see Birria Munchies Truck out in the wild, do yourself a favor and stop. This truck is absolutely worth chasing down. Thank you, Birria Munchies! See you next time you swing by

Same menu. Same five star goodness. I've had fish tacos all over town. Went to all the 4+ star reviewed places. This still reigns as THE best fish tacos in town for me, period. First of all, value. You get two corn tortillas and enough fish to make two tacos. For $3, that's a bargain. Then you can top it off with the condiments. There no longer is the salsa bar like they used to, but it is in a big Igloo cooler. I didn't take a look into it because I ordered this to go and one of the employees (his wife or girlfriend?) made a to-go tray for me. (See pic.) Really good fish and good batter. He says he worked for them for six years so when this came up, he bought it. Except for the salsa bar, everything's the same. Between 5th and 6th on Grant in the big lot. I highly recommend it. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
