One person shrimp taco and cheese quesadilla, another gobernador tacos and I got 4 different kinds of street tacos for 1.50 each (chicken, carne, birria and ?). The food was good, not great. My Father-in-law loves this place, so I decided to give it a try. The food is good except for the rice. I love Mexican rice, and their rice was bland. The chorizo beans were good and so was the fried fish. I'm unsure about the service on a regular day but I assume that due to Covid, the waitress was backed up. It took her a while to bring us our food and drinks and we received our napkins a while after we got our food. It seemed as though she was the only waitress working and it could have been that there was only one cook. I wasn't too bothered by the delay of service under certain circumstances during these times. Over all, the food was good the service was "blah" would I return?........perhaps, but it won't be on my top list of restaurants to eat at anytime soon. read more

I've been to this place 4 times ordering carne asada burritos and they were great. The burrito is stuffed with meat, avacodo, sour cream ....... to the point where even my friend couldn't finish it. He usually cooks for himself and doesn't like take out places. now he goes there to get lunch a few times a week. the waitress working days is so nice I leave her a tip because she certainly doesn't make any money on take out orders. There are typically few people dining in (after reading these reviews, I know why). I don't know what the other items on the menu are like but as of June 2023 I've never had a problem with with carne asada burritos, drunks, loud music, customers or rude waiters/waitresses. If you try them and don't like them shoot me a pic and I'll change this review. and no I don't own the place or work there. Food was decent, tortillas where soggy which was hard to eat the taco all together. The reason for 3 stars is the customer service was not great, the server seemed like she didn't want to be there. She didn't give us any napkins and when we were done she took plates but took a brake to drink her coffee and speak with the cook. We had to literally get up and give her the card to get the price to pay and to leave. Horrible place! The management is nonexistent and it took almost 40 minutes to get 5 TACOS! Literally only 5 tacos. It's ridiculous and there's one waitress doing it all while the other woman (probably) the owner walks around flirting with all the guys. Too busy offering drinks to them instead of actually HELPING. Not to mention, only one cook and he even handles stuff in the front too. What's the point in waitresses when you have your cook doing their job too? I was getting food next door at Kabayan Bakery and I saw the 99 cent fish taco sign. I've seen this sign numerous times but I think it's only on Friday and Saturday, luckily it was a Friday. I'm a fish taco aficionado, so I decided to see what El Kora was about! I got 2 fried fish tacos to go. The fish portion of the taco was bigger than most and it was fried perfectly =).The salsa was very good, it had a lot of different spices and was pretty spicy! These are definitely worth every penny! This review is for their 99 cent fish tacos. I stopped in here on my way to my favorite fish taco spot and thought i would give them a try. First i thought it was kind of odd for a taco shop / night club to have a zumba class too! Just different i guess. I bought 4 fish tacos, they looked pretty good and big but when there is definitely to much lettuce and the tortillas are soggy and fell apart, guess that's why they give a fork with them. I had a shrimp coctel and was not impressed at all. I hate when my seafood smells. In this case my shrimp coctel smelled like fish and tasted like fish. The beauty of the coctel is that you get to eat seafood without the fishy smell. I couldn't finish mine which sucks because the coctel pretty much got wasted. I really like the food at this place but that's about it. The whole fish is really good and they make it in a couple of different ways. The ceviche tostadas are really good as well. Along with the fish soups; fish, shrimp or 7 seas. The one thing that i really don't like of this place is the music. They have a house band which is good but REALLY loud! There's maybe 8 guys in the band and they really do play well but i think it's entirely to big for this place. I find myself having to yell at the person I'm with to have them be able to hear, it's really not something i appreciate when I'm having dinner. I know one day out of the week there is karaoke if that's your thing then it's OK I'll pass on karaoke when I'm having dinner though. read more

First off, I love trying new restaurants, I love sea food, I love Mexican food, so naturally this restaurant sounded/looked perfect. According to the signs out front this place had everything that I loved!! So I go in and order a shrimp cocktail. I paid $10.80 which is about the average price. When she hands me the container it's tiny! About 16oz. Usually 24oz-32oz for that price. So I'm like okay, maybe this stuff is amazing?? You get what u pay for right? I take it home and open the container... It's literally clamato juice, cucumbers and shrimp. No spices, no onions .. Nothing. No taste at all (besides shrimp and clamato juice) .. Then as I'm chewing I look down and notice that NONE of the shrimp were cleaned. Not even attempted to be cleaned. I was so grossed out! So I call and let them know that I would be returning the food. And I told them why. I arrive at the restaurant and as I'm walking in the waitress is giving me the evil eye. I hand the bag to the lady at the front desk. She does not apologize, she does not say sorry. She hardly speaks. She asked what was wrong with the food and I told her. She opens the container and looks at the food, then looks at me like she doesn't understand. Then prints my paper and I leave. I couldn't be leave this place. I had garlic shrimp here that was nassty! The shrimp were small baby shrimp and husband ordered fish tray that was so damn fishy! Even the rice was crappy being so dry with hardly no flavor. To top it off they took a long time. The bathrooms are horrible! There were like punched holes in the walls and a small table with a small chrome looking tray on it...umm for sniffers?! I drive around San Diego for work. I stumbled upon this place because it's close to the freeway, they have Mexican food and a clean bathroom. The decor is fantastic. It's eclectic, reminds me of TJ. The food is good. The fish tacos weren't great, but the adobado and beans are fantastic. I've had great service and ok service, just depends on who's working. I've only been here during the day, but I imagine this place pops off after dark on the weekends. They have live music and free karaoke Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
