Tried el limon in havertown. Had a bad experience at the Bryn Mawr one previously (rotten refried beans lead to food poisoning) and have avoided it but someone told me to try this one. Very clean, staff is super friendly. Not terribly crowded but with steady stream of customers. The good - food was good and fresh. Churros was amazing (the best I have had). Shrimp taco was yummy. Kids liked cheese quesadilla. Hubby liked his steak burrito. The bad - didn't get what I ordered. I ordered mild guacamole but it was spicy to me (i love spicy food) with huge chunks of jalapeño and so little humans could not tolerate it. I ordered all tacos on flour tortilla but got all corn tortilla. I ordered an al pastor taco and got a roasted vegetable one. We still enjoyed the food and will definitely go back but if customization for dietary reasons is crucial to you, this is not your place. read more

El Limon is always a safe bet. Great Mexican food thats close and relatively fast. This is one of our main go-to places for takeout!! Thank you for switching away from styrofoam containers! That's another big plus in our book!! read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. Worst experience with take out yet. Waited for my order for an hour. A woman who was there with her family who had waited there 90 minutes finally walked up and left. El Limón Havertown needs a better system for taking and getting orders filled. Due to COVID, we haven't been able to dine in yet, but have gotten take out several times. Our favorites are the nachos, al pastor burrito, and chorizo taco. This review is purely about the customer service. A friend and I went to El Limon for dinner and was seated promptly. We had a young waitress who started to take our order without writing down what we wanted especially because we both were not getting specific ingredients and had different requests. She repeated back our orders multiple times but continued to mess up our order. Thankfully our order wasn't incorrect. She was too attentive and seemingly hyper vigilant. She kept asking us if we wanted anything else as we were still eating and finishing our meal and appetizer. My friend ordered shrimp tacos and felt the tacos were overstuff with shrimp, as such she had a lot of shrimp left over. Upon providing us a bill, the server assumed that my friend left a lot of shrimp on her plate because other customers had complained about "over salted shrimp." As a courtesy, the server explained they took her meal off the bill. When we got our initial check it was one amount with the deducted meal. After my friend explained the reason she didn't finish all her food, the server put the the meal back on the bill without telling us and processed my card for a completely different amount which I was not aware given that we had seen the first bill amount. When we tried to explain the misunderstanding to the staff they had no accountability and insisted we pay for the meal they initially took off. It was never about the $. Overall poor customer service. We will not be dining here. Double Check your checks before allowing them to process payments folks. read more

We may be from West Chester, but for our anniversary my bride wanted to go somewhere new. Had an appointment in the area so we decided to try out El Limon in Havertown. Sooo happy we did. What a delicious meal. Nice comfy seating. My bride got the complimentary margarita & thoroughly enjoyed it. We got chips & guac for an appetizer. The chips were good and not salted. The guacamole was smooth with some nice avocado chunks and a little bit of jalapeño heat. She had the Chicken Enchiladas with a mole sauce. WOW that is some deep flavors. She loved it. I had the Barbacoa Alambre. The peppers were perfectly cooked, popping with flavor in the mouth & the flavors of the meat & sauce all complimented each other. Inexpensive but delicious! If I had one criticism it was that the music coming through the speaker was broken up a few times. read more

Love the tinga enchiladas with flour tortilla and mole! My only wish is El Limon would us paper to go boxes. The Styrofoam sometime is a little melted on the bottom which I'm sure isn't good for your health. read more

They kept walking past me staring at me!!!! They were NOT busy at all my family was was one of three in there so they waitressing staff could I'd took our order! I've been to this location twice in the past week and both times the food was outstanding, which is typical for any El Limon location. As an added bonus, the staff is very pleasant. Try the tamale with their house-made salsas. The red salsa will light you up, but it's so delicious! I've also had the barbacoa and carnitas tacos. Amazing! Can't wait to go again! read more

Their food is very good. They use Doordash for delivery, which doesn't always work out well. Not their fault.

Charged me 18$ for enchiladas and a side of guacamole/chips. Pretty ridiculous. The food quality is no where near the price.

Tonight we take out again from El limon. We ordered Tamale, guacamole, chicken quesadillas, barbacoa burrito, lengua ( tongue) tacos and enchiladas. All food are great! all meats are well seasoned and so much flavor. Love them all and the portion are huge. we both will have another meal from it. read more

New El limon just opened up. I've been to both locations on Lancaster Ave and believe me it's worth it to go to those other spots. This new place didn't have that many people seated but I overheard a lot of them complaining on how slow the service is. I ordered my food ahead of time but when I got there, there was such a slow moving line, just to pick up the food, waited at least 20 mins more from the time they said the food would be ready. The lady at the counter did not know what she was doing- she took like 5 mins with each customer trying to figure out what they ordered and took forever to run their payment. The food was ok, comparable to the other locations, but this service was horrible. Worth it to drive to the other locations. Maybe because it's a new location working out the kinks? Maybe I'll give them another chance but not anytime soon- they gotta get their act together.. read more

Want to give this place a 5 because we love the food but would give it a 3.5 due to incorrect take out orders. We love their tacos, burritos, and quesadillas but something was missing in our last three orders. First, I was given no shells for my fajitas. The next time, no beans as our side. Most recently, no guacamole in my chips and quac order. They're food is delicious but if you are going to order, check your order in the restaurant before leaving. read more
