They have the best pupusas. They aren't super greasy either which is good. I recommend you call your order in since they do take awhile.

For the Majahual Especial, we most appreciated how the yucca is fried in such a way it isn't too dry, and the fried plantain was also caramelized and packed with flavor.

It was a delicious meal, all the proteins were well cooked and it was seasoned perfectly. I ordered it medium and it had just the right amount of heat, I might be able to go up one more heat level if I was feeling adventurous but their medium was just right. The Thai Tea was fantastic as well, you can't really go wrong with Thai Tea. I finished the meal with one of their mango ice cream macaroons and I really enjoyed that as well. The shell was nice and crispy and complimented the sweet mango ice cream perfectly . It was a really great first experience and has me excited to head back one day to try out some of their seafood.

We made a big mistake ordering peeled shrimps because the shrimps received were very small. Lesson learned, always keep the head-on for shrimps! They also skimped heavily on the sauce, which is a dealbreaker for Cajun food. The Works sauce has good flavor, but there wasn't nearly enough of it. Paying that much for so little is a bit frustrating. I've tried many different cajun seafood places and I don't think I'll be visiting here again.

They have a modest amount of in restaurant seating but a huge festively decorated patio with vibrantly colored folk art flowers adorning them and bistro style chairs. We dined early on a Friday and were treated to strolling musicians who played and sang a wonderful traditional folk song for us while we awaited our order. The waiter spoke limited English but that wasn't a problem as when my limited Spanish failed me we used Google translate with great success. The menu is large and varied with an assortment of dishes including molcajetes, tacos, burritos, fajitas, and much more. Our meal began with house made flour tortilla chips and a richly flavourful salsa with plenty of garlic and a spice balance that I the wuss was able to enjoy, but which builds in intensity so it worked well for my spice loving husband. We ordered pasta poblano con Pollo and a pescado cerviche Toscana plus iced tea. The pasta was beautifully presented and perfectly prepared with liberal lashings of a rich buttery creamy white cheese sauce infused with the bright taste of poblano peppers and moist chunks of well seasoned chicken. The cheese pull from it was remarkable and it is a rich savory flavor explosion on the tongue. The portion was enormous and ended up feeding both of us about three meals each. I ordered the pescado or fish cerviche Toscana made without chili as I am a wuss and they happily accommodated that request. When it arrived it was a literal mountain of cerviche atop a six inch toasted corn tostada with another tostada perched atop at a jaunty angle. The cerviche was close to four inches high! The fish was citrus cured with a light delicate texture and fresh clean taste speaking to the lime used in the curing. The salsa had fantastic balanced flavor and was without pepper heat which was perfect for me. The service was superb and friendly. We WILL be back! Update: We are back for more fabulous cerviche tostadas. My husband got the perillo tostada which has shrimp, sushi grade tuna, avocado and all manner of other goodies. Perillo translates to bad ass and it is indeed a bad ass tostada! I opted for the callo de acha or scallop tostada this time and it also does not dissapoint! They have a full bar and we are very curious about their Adios Madafaker cocktail. The name is hilarious! We will update again if we decide to try it.

First off it was a steady flow of customers for a Wednesday evening. Many birthdays! We were sat immediately and waiter came to take our drink order. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the chicken and steak molcajete. Our food was brought out super fast! The portions - humongous! But the food is so good! My husband is super picky when it comes to Mexican food, and he said this molcajete is his favorite so far compared to other Mexican restaurants we've been to. From the moment the plates hit the table, you know this place isn't playing. The seafood is fresh, bold, and packed with that signature Nayarit-style flavor. The aguachiles have the perfect kick, the ceviche is bright and refreshing, and the tostadas are loaded the way they're supposed to be -- no shortcuts. What really stands out is the consistency. That classic Islitas taste -- spicy, tangy, and full of life -- is alive and well here. The vibe is lively, the portions are generous, and the micheladas hit just right. If you grew up on the original or know what authentic mariscos should taste like, this spot will absolutely satisfy the craving. Must try. Will definitely be back.

One of the first red flags was that the hostess led us to the table and did not even give us menus to look at. I had been watching them seat other tables while I was waiting and they provided the other tables with their menus right away. We had to hunt down the hostess to ask her to bring us menus to look at while we waited for the waitress. It took about another 10 minutes after being seated to get chips and salsa and for the waitress to take our order. We waited 1 hour before any of our food had arrived. The waitresses did not come to check on us at all in that time frame. Only at about the 45 minute mark were we brought another plate of chips and salsa. I noticed that we were not the only table with no food. I saw chips and salsa go to every table around us, but no food was coming out. I had my elderly parents and disabled sibling at our table waiting for food. About 10 minutes after we received our second plate of chips and salsa, I went up to the counter and flagged a waitress down. I stated that my family and I had waited for almost an hour for food and that no one has come to check on our table. The waitress rudely responded that we weren't "the only ones waiting." I informed them that I understood that and pointed out that no one in our section has gotten their food yet, only chips and salsa have been coming out. We eventually got our food about 10 minutes after I called the waitresses out. By this time, it was about 5:00 PM when we got our food. The food itself was average and not worth the wait. When it came to paying, the waitress was quick to bring us our check. The only problem was they brought us the wrong check. They brought us another tables check. We were about to pay it when another waitress that had taken our order came over and corrected our bill. It was understandable that they were busy since it was Mother's Day and it was obvious from the start, however the customer service was horrible. The least they could've done is check on us every so often to give us updates on the food and offer us refills on our drinks. Everytime the waitresses walked by in the hour that we waited, they would just stare at us and keep walking. In these instances, I don't think it's the fault of the waitresses and definitely not the cooks. It is definitely a reflection of poor management. I will not bring my business here again and I wish them luck.

Coconut Joe's is still a welcomed regular at any family gathering and a personal favorite of mine to this day. They've always had a strong burger. The huli huli burger n fries which is their pineapple burger is my favorite. For family style eating, their half pack and full packs are perfect. Their tri tip is good on its own, but with the corn, rice, and coleslaw mixed in with it is next level and the flavor always brings me back good times. The vibe inside is super fun. They fully embrace the surfer theme and have surf decorations wall to wall. Their televisions play classic surf trip movies which are fun to watch. Sometimes in the winter they will play snowboard and ski trip videos. Back in my youth, this was one of my favorite parts of the experience. The service was top notch, and the ambiance is over the top wonderful (as always). We had the tri-tip, bbq chicken, and then split a large plate of fish & chips. The fish was about half of what you would get at lengthwise for a similar price, but very delicious. The tri-tip was as good as I remember and waaaaaaaaay more flavorful than Harris BBQ (on Buena Vista). The bbq chicken was delicious, but the drumstick was the size of my index finger, so small compared with 11 years ago, but all chicken seems to be getting smaller and smaller at all restaurants. Overall, we are happy with the results, and it's nice to see that a restaurant that weathered COVID and all the price hikes is still making quality food. (We only took off one star for portion size as at $66 for lunch, there are many places that will fill us up...such as Lengthwise).
