The hubby was craving a burrito and this is where he wanted to go. I use to like this place but over the last couple of years I noticed a change to their food. It just doesn't taste as good as it used to so I stopped going. We got there around 6 pm and the place was packed! It's small anyway but every single table was in use. Thank goodness we wanted to take his burrito to go. We made our way to the back and were told by a server that she would' be with us shortly. Well we waited....and waited....and waited. She walked past us, going back and forth to tables and checking on them, making fresh drinks, checking on food but she never acknowledged us again...for about 8 more minutes. Now, I understand that the place was packed and my issue is not with her helping the other customers...my issue is with the fact that she never spoke to us again and continued to walk around us, asked us to move so she could get by, but never took our order. It would still have taken some time for our order to be cooked so all I wanted was for her to take the order so it could get started. As it stood, we wouldn't have even been able to wait for the food in the restaurant. Every customer is important and she should have made us feel that way and we did not, so we left after about 10 minutes of being ignored. I will never eat here again. I'm not sure where to begin with this place. Our party of six was seated quickly, and our server was very sweet. The atmosphere was pleasant and the prices seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with both the service and the quality of the food we received. My order was incorrect, and when I pointed it out, the staff attempted to insist it was the correct dish--even though the picture on the menu clearly showed something different from what I had ordered. The manager was very rude and unprofessional, raising her voice at us despite the fact that five out of six orders were incorrect. My spouse ordered a chile verde burrito. When we opened it, it was almost entirely filled with rice and beans, and we found only one small piece of meat. After taking it back, the manager returned claiming she "counted six pieces of meat" and insisted we still had to pay for the item, even though we had sent it back. The fajitas had virtually no meat and were mostly vegetables. In total, we spent nearly $130 and only one person in our group was able to eat their meal. We will not be returning, and we do not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a quality Mexican dining experience. read more

On Sunday may 24 th we had a surprise birthday party for my wife's birthday, virtually the last minute we got a call from our catering company that there truck had been stolen and they were not coming. My daughter had the presence of mind to call Tacos las salsa and order food for 40 people. Tacos las Salsas had it done quickly and correctly. Everyone ate there fill and loved the food. We were seated right away. This place is small and definitely gets packed on Sundays. The atmosphere gives Plazita Olveras vibes. It's festive and Mexican inspired for sure. The staff was friendly and on it. Drink & chip refills in a timely manner. The food was authentic. Very delicious. The wait time was minimal. They make homemade tortillas, flour & corn and bring you butter with every little batch. Delicious. It's a "hole in the wall" but superb place to eat. This review is long overdue, Tacos Las Salsas has my absolute favorite for Al pastor tacos. Outside of Mexico City and the random trucks in LA that I come across every once in a while, Las Salsa is always amazing and consistent. I've been coming here for years, living back and forth in San Francisco and this is better than any spot in SF. The Salsas are delicious, all of them. red, green and the pico de gallo *chefs kiss* don't over do it on the chips though save room for tacos. - taco salad is huge and very filling - worth the value - also one of my favorite horchatas in town The service is always friendly, sometimes the restaurant gets busy but it's worth the wait. My son found this joint on yelp and wanted to try it out. While talking with the waitresses we found out that this place has been in the same place for 20 years. We had the chorizo and eggs and the chicharrón in salsa verde. The portions were generous and delicious. The coffee is a Mexican coffee offering with the hint of cinnamon. We also order 2 discada tacos, fried mixture of different meats with cheese on top. We were so full from the plates that we split one of the tacos. There is so much flavor that it feels like a party in your mouth. Plus, they have almost a dozen different salsas at the walk up bar. I highly recommend this place! read more

The food was nothing spectacular. They had a Taco Tuesday special. Plus. We ordered it to go. The tacos barely had any filling or taste. I don't know what meat it was that I grabbed but it crumbled and I was immediately disgusted. I had order the Carne asada, carnitas and al pastor. The chips were hard and thick. This is a small and cozy restaurant. I enjoyed the warm and welcoming environment. I loved the chips! The salsa not so much. I am a salsa lover and for me, this didn't cut it. It was more like a tomato water. You just wet your chips in it. They seemed very understaffed and we did not get the refills we wanted. The second dish also came out ten minutes after the first. When I finally got my food, most of it was cold and the rest was room temperature. The beans were cold like they came straight from a refrigerator. Or maybe frozen and not done defrosting. Not sure. The flavors were ok, but the meal was just ruined for me since it was so cold. And on a cold day, I was seeking the comfort of a hot meal. I have gone back and forth between 2 and 3 stars. Maybe this was a one off situation, so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. If I ever come back, it will be for the chips. Those were great! The cute and festive decor was also nice. read more

I came here 04/13/26 around 4pm and requested grilled chicken tacos (I even stated in spanish "carne dorado" which means make it well grilled/charred), and I was given very simply cooked bland chicken that looked like oven baked (not grilled) with very small portions of the meat. I asked the short hispanic waitress how much the beer bottles cost, and she said they're $3.99 each, so we ordered 4... then when i got the bill, the beer was charged as $5.50 each. I asked the waitress "isnt the beer supposed to be $3.99 each?" and she said "no its $5.50"... wth? I wasnt going to sit there and argue about a few dollars and paid it. Why would you quote me a certain price and then change it up... I still tipped her lying a$$ 15% even though she deserved a zero tip, and her facial expression was sour for me not leaving a larger tip.. never coming back here again, and will tell all fam/friends to never come here. Petty/shady place with mediocre tasting food... there are a ton of mexican spots in town that are much better tasting than this lame place. read more

Had been here a few years back and could not remember if I liked it or not, so let's give it another go... The place was fairly empty on our arrival at 5:00 PM in a Saturday evening. It filled up before we placed our order though so I was very optimistic. The staff were friendly but undermanned with only 2 servers and a full house of guests. The asada burrito was edible but very greasy and tasted like a dirty grill. The clientele appeared to be somewhat country if you will and the food reflected that. Came for lunch, doesn't look busy from outside once we're inside it was a busy Mexican restaurant. So authentic, the taste of its food is so good. We tried tacos al steak combination & shrimp enchiladas. Service is great, ambience is wonderfully Mexican complete with authentic Mexican furnitures, pictures of Pancho Villa, Zapata and banderitas. I called in to order a couple platters and the girl who answered the phone told me "I need to wait a few minutes" didn't ask to please hold or anything. She then picks up the phone and tries to just rush me to pay for it when I had a few questions. She told me I have to give her my card number before I order. First time eating here and my husband and I could only eat half of our burritos. They were the worst ever I had the grilled chicken and the chicken as so dry. My husband had the shredded beef and it was so salted it was almost inedible. My daughter got her kids the chicken nuggets and fries. The nuggets were costco nuggets and the fries had so much season salt on them the kids didn't eat them. fries should come with reg salt or no salt and then the kids could add their own. $10.25 for 6!costco dino nuggets and fries and small soda. Salsas made fresh, rice and beans are cooked to perfection and the hospitality is the most comforting and welcoming! I've had plenty of Mexican food around Bakersfield and this is number 1! Little place out in Rosedale that's been there for awhile. I've been coming here for years. Not a very large restaurant, maybe 15 tables but there food is delicious. The Mexican decor is cool with old photos on the walls. The food is great! I've had so many things here over the years but I've never had anything I didn't like. The Enchilada Suizas is delicious!! Just enough spice and lots of meat. We've been there for breakfast too and they breakfast burritos are huge!! Huevos Rancheros is awesome!! My lunch/dinner favorite is the tostadas. Not the tostada salad. Just plain tostadas without meat (you can get meat, I just like it without). They remind me of growing up as a kid. Tortilla, beans, lettuce, cheese and salsa. And they are huge. Be prepared to use your fork at the end. Love this place. They have great service! The waitresses are always so friendly and quick to refill drinks and chips and salsa. Emelia was my pleasant server today. She was prompt and friendly. Up beat Mexican music plays in the background. The staff is dressed in a traditional style. This place is very traditionally decorated as well. The booths have lovely pastoral murals. The chairs have colorful painted and carved floral motifs. Colorful Mexican tile on the tables and booths. I feel like I have arrived in Puerto Vallarta. The ceiling is festooned with little cutouts and tiny piñatas. There are sombreros and vintage Mexican pictures gracing the walls. All in all a happy vibe here. Sometimes some of the staff will break out in song or dance if an especially fun song is playing. They serve thick crispy homemade chips with a sauce like salsa that is tasty and mildly spiced. I ordered the taco salad with Carnitas. The shell was crunchy and the carnitas were tender and moist. It was topped with sour cream and guacamole. I was tasty. It is a small restaurant with 11 tables. They do have a full bar also. They do a very brisk takeout business as well.
