Just kidding LOL that didn't happen! Anyway, back to the point, sorry.. I like to mess around a little. I wasn't that hungry because I had food yesterday I ordered a kids cheeseburger burger with fries, a kids meal chicken tender with fries, a farmhouse burger, and the half chicken with biscuits. I also had the his biscus lemonade. Needless to say--well actually, quite needing to say since this is a review after all--the food was pretty good. Prices were a little crazy but it's become all to normal in this day and age. As for the food, I ordered a kids cheeseburger burger with fries , a kids meal chicken tender.. don't feel like saying all this again. As for the food, the service was pretty good I guess. The girl servers were pretty smart. The boy servers were a little less smart. Every time the guys brought food, they either stood there looking around, or attempted to place the food on top of other plates or napkins that were on the tiny table. I suggest maybe a boot/concentration program for the guys so they can concentrate a lil more. Ok, it's time for me to go. I'm gonna go to sleep after all the food. I forgot to mention what I ordered. kids cheeseburger burger with fries, a kids meal chicken tender with fries, a farmhouse burger, and the half chicken with biscuits. I also had the his biscus lemonade. The half chicken was obviously what they tried the hardest in. There were 4 types of sauce with it. They were all pretty good, but I didn't eat the chicken. The chicken tasted incredible-- so much so that I finished it completely. But I don't like eating around bones, I find it primitive. I'm more of a chicken tender kinda guy if you know what I mean. Oh yeah and for the food, I had a his biscus lemonade. It was SO good. Alright. And that is the end of my review. I hope I did t forget to list my food items because I've gotten hate messages calling me weird. Anyway, I'm out chat. Thank you to my faithful followers. Continue to look forward to my honest reviews. P.S. the beginning part was not a joke it actually happened. I have a video but I won't put it because I'm tryna lay low it you know what I'm sa Tying to you yuui

There are a…read morefew private parking spots out front, but most of the lot is shared with the gas station, so expect to see people pumping gas nearby. When I arrived, there were homeless individuals camping outside, and some even came into the restaurant asking for food. Inside, the space is quite small, with only two tables, making it clear that this place primarily caters to takeout orders. The owner, originally from the Dominican Republic, was friendly and mentioned they've been in business for about three years, with most of their sales coming from DoorDash. Their most popular item is the Roasty Combo (a whole chicken, large rice, large beans, and tortillas for $24.99). I was also interested in their Sweet Fried Plantains, but they were out, so I went with Salchipapa ($4.49) and Steamed Mix Vegetables ($3.79) instead. After bringing the food home, my wife and I dug in. The chicken was okay, but it tasted overly salty. Some chicken pieces, particularly the breast, were very dry. The Salchipapa lacked flavor, and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't particularly memorable either. My favorite part of the meal was the green spicy sauce, which added a nice kick and helped elevate the chicken. Overall, it was okay. I'm glad I tried it, and the owner was very nice.

He told me it's mostly a takeout joint with just a couple of tables, and the owner, originally from the Dominican Republic, was very welcoming. He also mentioned that the area had some homeless individuals outside and even inside the restaurant asking for food. I didn't visit the place myself--I only got to try the food at home. We had the Roasty Combo (a whole chicken with rice, beans, and tortillas), along with Salchipapa ($4.49) and Steamed Mix Vegetables ($3.79). The chicken itself wasn't terrible, but it was saltier than I prefer, and certain pieces, especially the breast, turned out pretty dry. The Salchipapa didn't have much seasoning, so it tasted a little bland. The steamed vegetables were nothing out of the ordinary--just simple, standard veggies. What I did enjoy was the green spicy sauce, which had a great kick and made the chicken a lot more enjoyable.

We always order from the spicier side of menus, and there's no question when you get your food that they aren't playing around. The chicken is juicy, full of flavor, served on a perfect bun with cole slaw and a couple dill pickle slices. The lightly-battered, seasoned waffle fries are exactly what they should be. I remember the hype this place got as they started out and moved from their original spot to this new spot on Shepard. Now that they have inside seating, I figured it was time to check them out. I was in the area at a local bar with friends, and a few friends ordered Mico's through DoorDash. It looked and smelled so good that I decided I had to have it that night, but at the restaurant. I pulled up to what looks a new building. They share a lot with other businesses but I was able to get a parking spot easily. The restaurant is spacious with lots of seating. They also have bar seating by the register. When I looked around, I noticed alot of people waiting on food. It was a mix of food delivery drivers as well as patrons that had ordered and waiting. There was a customer at the counter going off on the employees and I got to commend the young staff for keeping their cool. That being said, the young staff was friendly and trying their best, but they were drowning and the mood in the place was off. Items were forgotten. People were not getting their food in the order of when they ordered. Four parties ordered after me, with similar items and everyone got their orders before mine. I think I was forgotten and only after one of the staff noticed me waiting did they come and look at my receipt. Time from ordering to receiving my food was close to 40 minutes. This is a hot chicken place that is trying to be somewhat fancy. I was served my food on a nice plated plate. Nice touch, but it felt off for the food being served here. They also give utensils in cloth napkins. No paper towels or napkins in sight. Hot chicken is messy and the cloth napkins was not doing it for me. I ended up up knife and forking my sandwich to keep the messy hands from happening. They also serve their fountain drinks in small cups filled to the brim with us. A few swigs and my drink was almost gone. For a place serving spicy food, a soda fountain with refills or readily available water should be available and out front. Now to the good part. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich at their hottest level which also came with a side. I got the waffle fries. The sandwich was voted one of the best dishes in the state by Texas Monthly and I can see why. It was a hefty sandwich with a large chicken breast seasoned to perfection. I always love when their is a little hangover of the chicken outside of the bun. The chicken was crispy but juicy inside. The heat was there but totally bearable with the cooling component of the delicious slaw on top. I usually pick pickles off sandwiches, but the pickles here were good and the acidity added a pleasant touch to the sandwich. The waffle fries were also excellent. They were the battered and seasoned kind which I love. The food most definitely saved the overall experience on my visit here. I will say it is one of the better hot chickens I have had in Houston. Now if they go back to their roots and not try to be fancy and do better on their customer service, I can see this place sticking around for a long time. With my experience, I don't see myself hurrying back anytime soon.

I had the 5 wing plate with red beans and rice, The wing was hard to eat, a lot of bone and the meat was tough to get too, I'm not a big wing eater so take that with a grain of salt. They were crunchy and had a good look to them. Red beans and rice was pretty good, a lot of sausage chunks and I think bacon. Glad I tried it but not sure if I'll be rushing back.

Between the group we ordered two HOT Chicken Thunder Fries, the HOT MESS fries, three orders of the jumbo chicken tenders and waffles (two hot honey, one plain), a full order of mac and cheese, and the Cheeseburger Fryders. It was a lot of food and somehow it was all hot, fresh, and honestly really good. I love a sweet and savory combo when I'm expecting it, and this place definitely delivers. The waffles reminded me a lot of classic Waffle House waffles and the tenders were huge and actually seasoned well. The loaded fries were seriously loaded too. Lots of sauce, lots of meat, and we definitely didn't feel cheated. We were stuffed and still had leftovers. The only thing I personally wasn't crazy about were the Fryders. I think mini waffles as buns would've been better, but they weren't bad and my friend scarfed them down. Service was quick once we ordered and the staff was super chill. They let us sit there gossiping and picking at food for almost three hours without making us feel rushed, which I really appreciated. A couple small complaints though. Ordering is only through the iPads so you don't really get to ask questions, and the tables could definitely be wiped down a bit more often. Also the AC could be turned down a little... it was pretty cold in there. That said, the prices are actually pretty reasonable for The Heights. I spent a little over $50 myself and didn't feel scammed one bit considering how much food we ordered. Funny enough we originally tried to go to their Alabama location on Sunday but the line was out the door and parking was a nightmare. My friend literally drove off and told us to cancel. We ended up driving about 26 minutes to this location instead and honestly I'm glad we did. Great food, quick turnaround, and a fun spot to hang out for a while. We'll definitely be back.
