what was ordered: "Huraches Super Grandes" typically i prefer going to a latin restaurant specially, to get a good "home cook feel" type of food. however, the chicken that was served on it, is the same one wawa uses. -pre-made, flavorless, colorless tiny chunks of chicken. like if it was poached in water and chopped up. (pre-made). not what you expect at a latin restaurant at all. it was a first. the large tortilla under it was made to perfection, that's it. they tried to make up for it with adding a 'super grande' amount of cheese .. for that I could've went to wawa and ordered a chicken quesadilla. huraches need to have tinga chicken perhaps? to be called authentic mexican food. not precooked. service was great. If you're looking for a restaurant with delicious food, hot off the grill, and plenty of it, then El Mariachi Loco is a perfect option. They've got steak, pork chops, paella, and more, but you can't go wrong with the guac. Seriously, this is some next level guac. Ordered 2 fajitas entrees, one steak burrito, taco salad, kids chicken nuggets. The food is ok if you are served what you order, which my stepson did not. Service: asked for tortillas chips that never came until we asked a different server to remind them. 3 out of 5 drinks came out to our table that were ordered. They forgot the other 2. We had to get another server for the second two. The rice and hot wraps (for fajitas) came out..... that's it 10 minutes later my salad came out..... still no fajita meat 5 minutes more go by and 3 fajita platters came out. Told the server the third fajita was suppose to be a burrito. She just kind of looked at my stepson waiting for him to say ok...... so he did. The live music was a nice setting. Steak tasted burnt. Oh boy where do I start. I have wanted to try this place for years just never had the opportunity as it is not close. But tonight we were in the area and I was so excited. But soooo disappointed. Let's start with the water that had a foul Oder and taste We ordered 2 beef burritos, one with Queso inside (which was not in there, when we asked for it to be brought my daughter was done). Lol and as for the other well it took 10 more minutes. We also ordered chicken burrito and chicken Fajitas with a side of refried beans. Which never came and they tried to charge us for it. Overall the food was very bland. Even my husband who doesn't care for Mexican said...this has no flavor. The fajitas were ok, very little meat and a lot of cheese to cover up the little pieces of meat. The tiramisu was good but unfortunately it's the same one you see in most restaurants read more

The food and service was very good. We asked for a recommendation on the appetizer and they brought us a delicious crab based cheese dip with nachos with a slight kick. I had the "el mariachi loco" dish which was a delicious platter of pork, beef, veggies, cactus. But make sure you can handle the jalapeños cause if not you better ask for it on the side ! My "picky" sister-in-law from Florida always asks that we have a family meal at El Mariachi's when she is in town .... Enough said. End of the story. Ok, perhaps that's not enough said because time after time what we have found at El Mariachi Loco is superb service and absolutely delicious food. Unlike some reviews where I have walked in once and put words onto a Yelp review, this review albeit a belated one is based on numerous experiences and a great variety of food choice samplings. It's ALL good and the service is ALWAYS top notch. So, here's my complaint ... the prices are not as low as they once were. Yes, we have travelled through the COVID time zone where restaurants have had to make adjustments, but I think management here has erred in their new pricing scheme especially in light of the fact that there are other quality Mexican restaurants within a half mile radius of El Mariachi Loco. The tacos are still bargain priced but the meals ... well I tend to be thrifty. Ok, another complaint .... I just do not get the wall paintings of the Aztec warrior and "princess." They are unsettling and I know my one daughter was deeply upset by the imagery. I make sure that I do not face the paintings and I would suggest that there are much better low-cost wall hangings that celebrate Mexican heritage that could be presented to the diversity of customers especially women who come to eat here. Neither the new prices nor the grotesque wall hangings have stopped me from walking through the doors past the two gate keepers outside to enjoy an awesome meal. We have also enjoy dining al fresco while watching the traffic and trains go by. If you time yourself correctly you might also get live music to enjoy during your meal. When you arrive, you are presented with three amazing salsas along with the homemade fried tortillas. The bean dip is to 'die for' but the green sauce is rich in flavor and the red offers a little heat. No sweet tomato sauce out of a can nor jarred flavorless dipping sauces here. It took this past week's visit to get me to realize that combining the red and bean salsas creates an even more incredible tasting while you await your main course. I can't tell you what to choose but I can tell you the mole is sooooooooooooooooooo awesome!!!! Mole has to be done just right or it can be oh so bad (I am still thankful to the waiter at the restaurant in Kentucky who whispered to me that I should avoid that particular restaurant's mole because it wasn't "real" mole. El Mariachi's kitchen obviously puts the time and work into their mole!). Once again, this week I chose the HUGE - MONSTROUS SIZED - Burrito Poblano with Mole and it was scrumptious! And half of it filled me up for dinner and the other half came home with me to provide a second dinner. Remember my comment about pricing ... well, when you get two complete meals from one restaurant priced meal, I guess the price isn't all that bad. DEFINITELY BE PREPARED TO TAKE HOME FOOD ... especially if you want to sample desserts (We rarely if ever sample desserts because we are full.). Our group this week (the Florida family member was back in town) ordered a wide variety of choices. The enchilada's done two ways is one family member's always go to. Another chose the quesadilla. My sister-in-law's mouth dropped when her burrito was delivered. And my 88-year-old mother-in-law just said 'yummy' as she enjoyed her mild choice of meals. So, if you are in South Jersey and ready to enjoy some delicious Mexican food while experiencing great service make plans to go to El Mariachi Loco, located right on the corner in a classic 19th or early 20th century building. Walk past the two guys outside and ask for a table where you don't have to look at the wall hangings ... and then get ready to enjoy an incredible meal with leftovers as the bonus! I will be back soon ... I won't look at the wall hangings (OK, I will look and wonder once again why they are on the wall.) and I will enjoy an awesome meal while being the recipient of great service. Was looking for lunch in Hammonton and found the nice spot. Location was off from what Yelp said. Looks like the moved down the street to this new location. Think it was a good move. Lots of natural light. Plenty of seating. Waitress was super friendly and efficient. She also was very flexible and let us divide into separate checks. Food was awesome. This was our go to place in Hammonton. The last time we had family visit we took them here. My quesadilla came and it was soggy and sitting in liquid. My husband ordered enchiladas. Which were soggy also. I love guacamole so we ordered the large to share and it tasted like they added mayo to it. The stars are for the staff. read more

Went to this restaurant with my husband because he thought the building looked very authentic Mexican and wanted to try the food. The restaurant was fairly crowded, but we were seated quickly and the service at first was very good. When asking a few questions about the menu the waitress With broken English could not quite express what a few of the things were.. My husband and I were very confused and ordered burritos.. When I asked for salsa, the waitress was confused what I was referring to. When we finally got on the same page, she brought out a red liquidy sauce. The burritos were undercooked and did not taste very good because it did not have very much flavor. Had to wait a very long time to get the waitress to check out. We ate here tonight we order guacamole with nachos the guacamole had a long hair in it. It would have been so bad because I know things happen but we also ordered a taco dish that had a soup with it and what you know that inside the soup was another long hair. to add insult to injury they made us pay for the nachos because we ate them, but they took the other two items off the bill. I wanna know why two different entries why it would have two hairs in them. it makes you sick to your stomach when you don't know why who would be in two different entrées. It was very slow. Waitresses including ours sat on their phones. My food came out and we were done for nearly 15 minutes before our server came. I asked for ONE slice of Flan. She came back with 2. I'm not sure if they care about getting repeat customers or they count on the one and done to make their money but I have never and I mean never had a steak fajita as bad as I have from here. I ordered this 2 times from here giving the benefit of the doubt and it got worse each time. The vegetables pepper and onions are always raw. The meat is sitting on raw cold vegetables and there is a a brown sauce that looks like it belongs on meatloaf. Thick and disgusting. Maybe if you're going to serve food Go eat at other restaurants and take some notes on how it's done. Not worth the money not worth the try. I'm very sad about to have to review it like this. I haven't loved everything I've had from this place in the past, but I found my new go to order - fajitas. These fajitas are absolutely awesome and the portion they give you is enough for like 2-3 meals. Worth every penny of $22 for shrimp, steak, and chicken. The meat was seasoned perfectly and the veggies and cheese were a perfect compliment. BYOB so if you bring your own tequila you can have them bring you out margarita mix which is pretty cool. I loved this place, food and service was amazing. Portions were huge. They told us they would be big but we didn't believe them and...hungry eyes. The size of that torta is 2x what I get in NY and it was 2x better! I ordered a soup and a quesadilla, couldn't get to the quesadilla. That soup was huge and so very delicious, I couldn't stop. But the quesadilla was good even as take out. I'll be coming back! I don't want to forget the best part, they don't serve liquor but if you bring tequila they offer a pitcher of margarita mix, also really good, and salted glasses. $14 for the pitcher, it's a great deal. Good for 4 ppl, the 2 of us barely got through it but one had to drive. I look forward to reviewing their fajitas next! We've passed this restaurant many times on our way to and from Atlantic City and finally the timing was right for us to stop for lunch. Wow, the food is amazing and such generous portions. Having been stationed in San Diego many years ago I developed a love for Mexican food unfortunately until now I was never able to find anything I thought was as good as it was then. This place is beyond a shadow of a doubt is THE best Mexican restaurant I've been to. The house made guacamole with house made chips is to die for. The shrimp Ceviche is my personal favorite. Everything I've tried has been excellent. I'm enjoying exploring the menu, last visit I had the fajita mixtas which has shrimp chicken and steak all seasoned and cooked to perfection, almost the homemade wraps they have. My husband and I were out and about and decided to try this place. Tortilla chips and sauces they gave us when we sat down were terrific. My husband couldn't get enough of them. I ordered the shrimp fajitas , the waitress asked if I wanted corn or flour tortilla. She stated that the corn ones were homemade so that was what I chose. My fajitas were pretty good but I wished I didn't get the corn tortillas, they were dry and had a weird flavor to me. My husband ordered 2 tacos, one american and one mexican style. He thought they were both great, he really loved the mexican style one. He also ordered a quesadilla which he couldn't finish because it was so HUGE! So much food at a reasonable price. A nice sit down Mexican restaurant in downtown Hammonton. The food is delicious and comes to the table sizzling hot. We ordered the chicken quesadillas and fajitas. Generous portions and authentic tasting. The star of the dinner was the warm bean paste dip. Sounds and looks gross but was a welcomed addition to the standard salsa and chip starter. The only issue and maybe it was just an off day, was that the servers seemed inattentive and off on the day we visited. Slow to no drink refills. Fajitas coming out without shells. Stuff like that.
