3.7 star for food. 3.5 star for service. Food - lots of options and decent flavor however my particular dish was heavy handed with their salt beyond double salting. I had ordered the Maui Maui taco that came with cabbage and side of rice and beans. Those were a good combination. The Maui Maui is deep batter fried like "fish and chips". The corn tortillas had more white flour than corn flour ratio but still soft. The flaming volcano chips were a concoction of loaded chips shaped into a mountain. Guac was definitely fresh and made in front of you. Price point wise, it is on the higher end but this location sells beer.

We have been here a lot and the food is always delicious. It's located in the downtown arts district. The guacamole is so good, and they make it tableside however you want it. I've tried many things on the menu and never had anything bad. The service is always good. It's one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.

Ordered takeout from here having seen all the great Yelp reviews. But I was pretty disappointed to be honest. I ordered the steamed clams which came in a quart container. It was basically a garlic cilantro oil soup then what I thought steamed clams. Just so much liquid. The clam soup was also pretty bland. Not impressed. I also ordered the Al Pastor Tacos. The Al Pastor was soooo sweet and I missed having some type of char/crunch. The tortilla was fine....not impressed with this restaurant

El Guacamole consistently offers good food and service. Dinner on Third Friday 2.18.22 was exceptionally good. The Baja Mahi Mahi Taco special of the night really hit the spot. The slaw was fresh, bright, and flavorful. The warm, slow heat of the sauce was tempered by the fresh mango in the slaw. Perfect.

El Guacamole offers dressed up Mexican dishes and storied classics. We've tried a number of dishes over the years, but most recently I tried a Mahi Mahi special. The fish was certainly overdone, although the shrimp was perfectly blackened and the scallops tender. The creamy sauce was spicy and rich, although the roux seemed a bit floury in the base. Their tacos are excellent, with cilantro and onions available for the purist. Their table side guacamole has always been fresh and delicious. They make a margarita mix for you if you bring your own tequila (you have to mix your own drink once the mix is serviced), which is too sweet for my tastes, but a fun variation on the usual bottle of wine or bottles of beer. Service on all of our visits has been excellent, friendly, and prompt. They moved in the past few years from a very humble storefront to a more lavish, bright, and spacious location just down the street, so it really feels dressed up compared to just about every other taco joint around. It is busy but quiet, and a tasteful space.

Tried their food when it was catered for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Good thing I was at the beginning of the buffet line- nothing was left. What I ate was amazing. Loved the fish soft tacos!!! The sauce wasn't too spicy and I added cabbage, salsa and a squeeze of fresh lime. Chips were crunchy and went well with the obviously homemade guacamole. Kinda knew that was going to be good if you name your Restaurant after it! Lol. I want to go back and try more things, especially since the takeout was awesome.

A Chinese guy from New York City who loves Mexican food decided to open a Mexican restaurant. I thought that was pretty cool because sometimes, it's good to have a fresh perspective on a cuisine. Well, unfortunately my enthusiasm was misplaced. I've been there and ordered from them several times over the years and always been sorry. Everyone I know has had the same experience. My coworkers hated the food so much they actually threw out the menu and we NEVER get rid of menus. We collect them like some people collect baseball cards. But it was so bad, they didn't ever want to risk making the same error again. The Mexican food is just HORRIBLE. Horrible. Flavorless, overpriced, greasy, messy. UNGOOD. Yes, I said ungood. Now, they do good Chinese-American food. I really like their Chinese. I got the best Mango chicken I've ever had in my life there. Unfortunately, they took it off their menu. They also have japanese udon too, but it's not that great. The only reason they get two stars is for the Chinese food. The Mexican food is negative one star. Well, maybe negative one half star since the sell the Mexican sidra (apple soda) that I like. But just blech in general. And the decor is abysmal. Grab your Chinese and go.

I suppose I just wanted to "feel" something. Truth is I was lost, but the moment I stepped foot in this Chili's....I was finally found. My life found true purpose. There had been this eternal darkness in my heart for as long as I could remember. However the moment I saw the menu.....I saw the light. It was a dim light, the first glimmer I've seen my entire life. It beckoned to me, and I was drawn to it like a moth to the flame. The world around me had slowed down and all noise had dissipated. It was just me, the menu, and the faint light shining into me. My vision cleared and I could finally see the words within the light. Corn on the Cob. I don't know what came over me, or what took over, but I impulsively turned towards the waiter with an overwhelming confidence and said: "Corn on the cob." I've never ordered just a single vegetable before, but something.....supernatural maybe.....told me to order it. Reality came back around me. A couple on a date to the left, a divorced father with his kids to the right....complaining about his drug addict ex wife from what it sounded like. It was all too much for me. I started to break into a sweat. A fear and taken over! "What if isn't right for me?!" I thought to myself. But it was too late, the waiter was already gone. I had a sip of my water, then two sips, and before I knew it the glass was empty. It was all too much, I felt like my head was going to explode. I was shaking uncontrollably at this point. I got up and went to the bathroom, I had to get away. In the bathroom, I took a good long look in the mirror. The years of fear, pain, regret had taken its toll on me. I was beaten, but not out of the ring yet. It was then I realized.....I was afraid. But not of the corn of the cob, or the life I lived. I was afraid of the change I was making. I lived a life of simplicity. Working just enough to fill my needs. Never once did I look outside my world and just.....wonder whats out there. Maybe a better job? Maybe a women who would truly love me? This was no ordinary corn on the cob....no......this was the beginning of my new life. One where I could make the rules! Where I go out and achieve more than I ever thought possible! This leash that had held me back for so long will finally be broken. But not yet, for when I stepped out of that bathroom there was one thing in my way from achieving all of this. Corn on the cob. There it lay before me. It's golden yellow aura shimmered across the dining room. Children peaking around their chairs, the staff whispering among themselves. I grabbed both ends of the sweet, buttery treat before me. I could feel the tender heat radiating from it. I could smell the delicious kernels. It ran through my body. In that moment, I was without fear, for I had nothing to be afraid of. My teeth broke into it's gentle frame. A burst of flavor had filled my mouth. A new found energy ran through me and into every atom of my being. It was as if my DNA was being over written. The darkness that had permeated inside me for so long was gone! I took bite after bite and savored every last bit. It was as if I was blind my entire life.....and I could finally see. By the time I was finished, whatever darkness within me was gone. I was reborn again, a new man. I no longer felt stuck, trapped, or sick. I felt....hope. I felt hope because I knew from this moment on I knew I had the power to change my life. I had to power to give myself everything I felt I deserved! A better job, a nice car, a wonderful girlfriend! I had the power to achieve all of it! Let me tell you.....this isn't the end of my story. Oh no. This.....this is the beginning. A new life. However this time, I get to figure out the ending.
