There was so much potential in our meal, but the two items we split were so vastly different in quality and satisfaction it left a lot to be desired. We were heading to the local brewery after work on a Friday night and wanted to bring food for dinner. We decided on La Frontera for convenience as it's only right down the street. I decided to call our order in ahead of time and asked to have it ready for pick up at 6:30pm. The person who answered the phone was very nice and helpful, however, I was informed pick up orders must be made online. The online ordering system was very user-friendly and fully customizable. We ordered a Chicken Burrito Ogado which is a wet burrito with spicy green sauce and Carnitas Nachos. Upon checking out we discovered an "Online Order fee" which is discouraging since they don't allow for orders to be placed over the phone. Our food was ready right at 6:30 when I set the pick up time for. The building looks to be small and there is not much room for multiple people to stand while waiting for to-go orders. Both items looked very appetizing and there was plenty of food to split between the two of us. The burrito was huge and was STUFFED with rice, beans, and chicken. Cheese, cilantro, and spicy green sauce topped the burrito. We both loved it and would definitely order again. The nachos on the other hand were a totally different story. Great tortilla chips, lots of toppings, and very good flavor, however, the carnitas that topped the nachos were all grizzly and chewy fat making them almost inedible. We had to pick around all the fat (I can't even call it meat because there was virtually none). This rating very easily could have been 4 stars if received edible carnitas nachos. There were lots of positive highlights from our visit, and only two negatives; one being more extreme than the other. I'm not going to let this experience discourage me from ordering here again. Next time we decide to frequent the local brewery, since our experience was more positive than negative, I'll try a second time to see if this was just a one-off in terms of protein quality.

Have ordered food from here a few times here and it's good/okay, nothing out of this world plus their hours aren't always accurate. The Ogado burrito is the best thing I've had so far! Huge portion and stuffed with fillings. The chips however were stale and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. And that red salsa is HOT! Beware!

Very cool place with good food. Very attentitive staff making it a cool vibe. Give it a shot if in town.

It's always a real treat to have a meal from our local owned Mexican restaurant. I still feel one of the best places to have opened business in town. Al pastor burrito was so delicious. Salsa verde has a nice punch to it. Can't go wrong with the tostadas. Tbh, chicken is usually the last choice of meat but it's second on my list to Al pastor from here. The fajitas are easily 3 servings. 10/10 to heal the pain of a Sunday game day loss.

Great local food next to family in NJ. Definitely a must stop every time I visit. Highly recommend the Al Pastor from my nephews estimation but I ordered two enchilada tacos. Mild spiciness but great flavor!

We have been to La Frontera quite a few times since the have opened in town. The food is absolutely delicious. My favorite is the burrito ogado with carnita. Spicy and delicious! Portion is HUGE for the amount of money you pay. I had dinner and enough for the next two days for lunch!

Great lunch today here. Small and quaint. Only a few tables. Food make fresh when ordered. Great steak tacos. Perfectly seasoned. Guacamole is superb. Highly recommend.

Being our first time, we wanted to try several things, so we ordered guacamole and chips, chicken tacos (3 per order), chorizo tacos (3 per), beef birria tacos (3 per), and a side of rice and beans. The tacos are HUGE! They all come on corn shells and are loaded with meat, with cilantro and onions. The beef was so tender and delicious. The chicken was equally tender and flavorful. The chorizo was very nice and mild - not too spicy. Everything was prepared fresh and served hot. Just delicious!!! The staff is super friendly and the place very clean and bright with about six tables. I'd highly recommend. We love this area for all the excellent Mexican restaurants and will definitely return here. So nice to find new places, especially when they're open Mondays where many others are not.

I ordered the Gorditas de chicharron and they were just ok. The chicharron was very dry. I also got a platter which was the bistec asado. This is usually my go to platter at any Mexican restaurant but this time I feel like I didn't make the right choice. The meat was dry and hard, the rice was pretty good and the beans were salty. The platter does come with handmade tortillas which were pretty good. The red salsa was also good but the green not so much it was pretty watery.

My dad didn't feel like Mexican so when we got home, I mentioned it to my husband and he wanted to try it out. When we got there, there were a couple of tables taken, and they were all speaking Spanish. Good sign #1. The place was clean, bright, and cheerful. Good sign #2. The server (? He seemed to be doing every job there) greeted us and told us to sit wherever we wanted and then asked us what we wanted to drink. I got water and my husband ordered horchata. It was really good and not too sweet like it can be. I ordered a huarache with carnitas and my husband ordered chilaquiles with red and green sauce. The chilaquiles were so good he had them gone in a couple of minutes. I didn't have a high expectation of my lunch because it was not on a masa base, it was a tortilla. I still ordered it because I figured the tortilla would be a lighter meal for lunch and I wouldn't feel as drained as if it was masa. My huarache had a base of some of the best refried beans I've had in a long time and let me tell you about the carnitas! In the area we used to live in, carnitas was generally served as shredded pork. Here, it was chunks of meat and I was a little anxious that they would be tough. But oh, the meat was so tender! I barely touched it with my fork and it fell apart! I barely had to chew it. I was really only chewing the tortilla. It was flavorful without being too spicy, so the taste of the carnitas could shine through. Honestly, this place is a little unassuming hole in the wall type of place in a weird strip mall that also has a surgery center and a gym in it. But you know, that's the kind of place that outshines any big places.

I had the shrimp tacos and honestly they were not what I was expecting but maybe that was my fault (i though they were going to be hot, but it contained all cold ingredients: cold shrimp, sour cream, queso fresco, cold chopped tomatoes and cold flour tortillas). I'd still come here again but would just order something different. We did have amazing elote, so I would suggest ordering that: it's $7 per corn cob but totally worth it! For dessert with had the churros with ice cream and that was the most amazing dessert ever! We sat outside and enjoyed the calmness but service was a little slow because of that. They have very nice decor inside so I wouldn't mind sitting inside too.
