This place has the best food and the service as super nice and helpful and the vibe was chill I liked the music!

We didn't have a full dinner between the two of us, but I had the seafood enchiladas and my wife just had chips and queso. I thought the enchiladas were solid, though my wife felt like the queso was too thick and that the chips they served with the queso were a little stale. The service was A+, very attentive and hospitable, which counts for a lot in my book. They brought out a huge statue and bass drum for someone's birthday, which we loved and thought was hilarious. Also, the house marg was excellent and I definitely recommend. Overall, a cool vibe in the restaurant and we will definitely come back. We have some friends coming in from out of town and thought that it might be a good spot to introduce them to TexMex. If your go-to is Natalita's or something like that around The Woodlands, I would definitely encourage you to give this place a shot. read more

I wish I wouldn't have been fooled by the high reviews for this place. It was a total waste of money & a highly disappointing meal for date night. To be fair, it is my own fault because I tried El Mariachi a year or two ago and thought it was gross then. However, I know everywhere deserves a second chance so I thought I'd give it another try, especially when I saw it had such a high average rating. Let me first say, service is INCREDIBLE. Truly could not ask for better. The hostess was really sweet and she stayed kind even when I could tell she was overwhelmed by all the people. We had multiple servers come by to check on us at various times and do things for us and they were all great too. Absolutely 0 staff complaints. I ordered a watermelon margarita and couldn't drink it. The syrup was completely separated from the actual drink. I left it completely full and while I didn't want to complain, I was surprised that I wasn't asked if it was okay. Had I been asked, I would've told them. My husband thought his house margarita was good, but he did order it frozen and it was already half liquid by the time he got it. The food was not good. I took one bite of my beef taco and pushed it to the side. It was essentially Taco Bell meat. No shade to Taco Bell, but if I wanted that, I would've just gone to T Bell. It sure would've been a lot cheaper. My cheese enchiladas were also not good. I asked to have sour cream sauce on top & was charged $2 for it. I wasn't told I'd be charged extra and didn't see anywhere on the menu where it said that. Even so, $2 for sauce is crazy, but $2 for sauce when the enchilada ALREADY comes with sauce on top and all you had to do was replace it?? Wild. The queso was okay. Not amazing, not bad. It's the only thing I was able to eat. Not my personal experience, but two tables in our same section had issues with their food too and had to send it back. $85 for that is crazy. I'm glad so many seem to enjoy it, but El Mariachi will never see me again. read more

This place was a great experience. I was invited by a coworker for a late Bday celebration. Upon arrival it a little slow only a few people but it had picked up eventually. The inside is uniquely designed and the ambiance wasnt to much or to less The waiter was very attentive and checked on us periodically. I ordered the carne asada rice and beans platter it was delicious..They came and sang Happy Bday let me spin the wheel(I won a Mexican candy shot) and even brought me a piece of desert with a candle. This place is tacked in the back of strip mall and might be little hard to find but don't let that stop you from giving it a try. I came here for dinner and getting a seat was not a problem. The dinning room is fairly big and there is also a covered patio. They do have a full liquor bar. The (Casado mix) mixed fajitas I ordered came out quick. The portion for one is not as generous as other places. The chicken and steak were done perfect. What I didn't like was the grilled shrimp came out with the shell and tail on. A great place to stop for some delicious Mexican food and even a margarita! Today I stopped with my son and friends and their two kids to get some food and beverages. I ordered the enchilada verde. It came with refried beans and rice. I throughly enjoyed the enchiladas and the salsa verde was delicious. The chicken was tender. I would have preferred shredded chicken versus cubed, but it tasted good still. The rice was okay. Could be a tad more flavorful, but it was good enough. The skinny margaritas were yummy (first one was nice and potent!) Overall the service was great and the food was ready quickly and service was friendly. The ambiance was causal and fun. I hate to leave such a bad review because the two gentleman that helped us seemed really nice but I have to be honest. This was actually The. Worst. Mexican food I have ever had, and I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants as that's the only places we'll eat out at. The rice and beans were terrible even my 11 month old wouldn't eat it. The enchilada I ordered was so bad I legitimately didn't even want to take a second bite. The tortilla did not look or taste like either corn or flour but was actually supposed to be flour. As I'm writing this right now I actually just remembered it was supposed to be a burrito with enchilada sauce and cheese on top but it was plated as just an enchilada. The red sauce was straight watered down tomato sauce. That's the main reason I could barely eat it. I'm normally not picky but it was really that bad. My husband paid $17 something for a "pizza " quesadilla that looked delicious and huge on the picture but it was so small he had to order a whole 'nother entree. It was so thin and bland looking. My toddlers quesadilla actually looked much better, more filled and like the quesadilla was cooked with a little butter. The pizzadilla didn't have any cheese or meat anywhere near the edges. Besides the taste of the food, we waited at least fifteen-twenty minutes before we had our order taken, and that's only because a gentleman noticed we were just waiting so he didn't have a booklet to write our order down. We also ordered the new soft serve margaritas (this was actually the whole reason we came was to try these out.) Our food eventually came, not exceptionally fast but not particularly long wait either. They never brought our drinks so the gentleman gave us a free sample "on the house" and still never brought our drinks. This is what was pretty upsetting because I never asked for him not to bring our drinks. That's literally the reason we came so that was confusing why he did that. I get he brought the samples to recoup from forgetting about the drinks but he should've either still brought the drinks or just given us our actual drinks for free instead of the sample. But to just not bring our drinks without even saying anything to us was not cool. Most times we had someone come to our table it was a long time so we had to wait to ask for the bill for a while. Another thing that I have an issue with as I have two little ones and waiting for 10 minutes to pay for our food with kids that are already ready to go is frustrating. One of the other gentlemen that came to the table was really sweet to our toddler though and that was really the only reason we decided to leave a tip after such a poor experience. The soft serve was really good, I'm not sure there's more than a drop of alcohol though lol. The place looked nice though. read more

Have been waiting to try this spot and was glad we chose to visit this week. Interior is very large nicely decorated and seating is comfortable. I had the small house margarita and really enjoyed it it's kind of in an odd glass but still very enjoyable and has a little kick to it; about perfect. We enjoyed their chips but their salsa is just like red water and has really no flavor. Ordered the combination plate that was very good everything came out very fresh also had a half order of the beef fajita nachos and they were very good ,but I wish they came with sour cream as well. Will definitely put this into the rotation of Mexican food in our area to enjoy. Probably be coming by on a weekday for happy hour and more of those good nachos. Nice staff. read more

Fajitas. Tortillas. Enchiladas. Quesadillas. Those were the little voices in my head that drew me to search for good, nearby Mexican food. When I entered, I saw nice decor and picture of promising margaritas. Since I had my son with me, margaritas were out this time. I ordered the beef fajitas. When then came out, they didn't have "the look" of my favorite fajitas. They looked a little dry and chewy and not as fajita-vibrant as I like. The tortillas felt, looked, and smelled like they came from a package rather than being made fresh. The rice was okay, but the refried beans tasted like they came from a can. I was a little sad with my visit. Service-wise, the staff was very friendly and the food came out quick. The place is probably good if you live in very close proximity. First time visit!! Service was great, food selection was awesome, swapping refried beans for charros .75 upgraded... Want shredded chicken in your Verde Enchiladas instead of fajita chicken, .75... In fact any changes or special requests to menu items are a minimum of .75... I know this is minimal but it became annoying after the third request.. ( most all Mexican restaurant atlet gives you the option for refried or charros ). I finally got it and refused to option out corn vs. flour tortillas... Absolutely incredible. We asked specifically for the Fiesta Tacos with barbacoa & mixed meat carnitas. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked and fell apart in our mouths. The little tortillas held the grease and salsa perfectly and didn't fall apart til the last taco at the very end. The service is always exquisite. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and vibrant. Today was the first time we've gone to El Mariachi. Ambience was wonderfully colorful. The menu is extensive with so many choices. I had to try the stuffed avocado dish. It didn't disappoint!
