Nacho Padres has a great location and is convenient for those of us who live nearby. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service has consistently been disappointing. Over our last three visits, we've waited close to 10 minutes just to be greeted by a server. Tonight was the final straw--we sat for 7 minutes without anyone acknowledging us, and the restaurant was less than half full. Not a greeting, not a drink order, nothing. We eventually got up and left. I understand restaurants can have busy days, but this has become a recurring issue rather than a one-time experience. Management needs to address the service problems because the food and location alone aren't enough to keep customers coming back. We wanted to support a local restaurant, but until the service improves, we won't be returning. read more

I am conflicted on posting this review. On the one hand it is the best Tex-Mex I have had in a long time and I am so enamored with everything about this restaurant! From the amazing food to the friendly and attentive staff. The ambiance is so relaxed and easy going. I had a good experience at nacho padres. The food was good, more experimental in nature. I got the birria torta lunch plate & it was a LOT of food for the price. It was awesome! The actual birria torta was decent, but the rice and beans were above average. I'd try something different next time I go. I liked the chips and salsa too. The creamy salsa was nice and refreshing. The traditional red was good too. The chips had a lot of weight and crunch - they were yummy :) they also have some really good lunch & weekly specials. The half off fajitas on Thursdays is always a hit. The service was a bit slow & it took a while to get our food. We stopped in for lunch & ended up missing a work meeting... There was also a bit of confusion at the beginning as we had two different servers. Otherwise, great experience Ambiance was nice, I liked the decorations and vibe. We placed an order via phone for pickup. We ordered 2 breakfast burritos, 1 all the way and the other customized with just bacon, egg, cheese, and beans. We picked up the order and when we arrived home the order was incorrect. I called the store to explain the error and was told they would remake it. We returned to the store and picked up the remade order. The burritos were very large, tortillas taste homemade and were really good, the ingredients were fresh; potatoes, beans, pico, cheese all paired well. I'm a foodie, and I wanted to try this restaurant. I love Tex-Mex, raised on Los Tios and Ninfa's... and the overview described this as Tex-Mex. I entered the restaurant during the lunch hour, and there was no wait, about a dozen people in the restaurant. The hostess asks me for my phone number... huh? I just wanted to have lunch. The hostess asks my name...huh? I just wanted to have lunch. I just wanted to be fed, no eventually solicited. That should have been my first clue... So, I looked at the menu, and, voila, my fave, puffy tacos. Ordered them. A few minutes later, the order came out. The puffy tacos were rubbery, not crispy in any way, and not fresh, in any way. I mentioned this to the friendly waitress, and she apologized, and asked if I wanted the crispy beef tacos instead. I asked if they were nice and crispy, like the perfectly adequate chips that were brought out initially with the salsa and avocado salsa. She said, yes, even a crispier! I agreed, and waited for my new order. Female manager came over and asked what happened, and she listened. Agreed that they seemed stale. Apologized. Okay. The waitress returned with the tacos. They were flour or corn/flour tortillas, warmed on the grill, and NOT FRIED CRISPY TACO SHELLS... Flexible, gummy, soft taco material. ANOTHER manager approached the table, and seemed pretty puzzled by what I was expecting. I communicate well, I made it clear what was being requested... I asked him if he'd ever been to a Tex-Mex restaurant that made a crispy taco without it being fried, and he said that this is 'just how we do it...' Fascinating. I left without eating, he didn't expect to be paid. Disappointed that he claimed that NOBODY had ever had this conversation with him before. Won't be going back. Not really rude or unattentive. We tried this restaurant within a few weeks of it opening but I decided to wait on my review till they had some time to get through the growing pains. I'm so glad I did! They have improved SO much since they opened and have become one of our go-to places. I swear it feels like we've been a hundred times by now. I've tried a variety of drinks and food off the menu and truly enjoyed everything I've tried. The lighter colored dip they serve with chips is my favorite of any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. The guacamole is really good and fresh, the fajitas are yummy, and I really love the birria flautas (though the chicken are good too)! They even started offering brunch. I've been once and thought it was good, though I prefer their dinner menu. Every waiter or waitress we've ever had has been great. We have no complaints with service at all. Even picking up an order to go the food and service is always spot on. I appreciate that they go over your order and show you everything as they package it up to ensure what you paid for is what you're getting. The restaurant is also beautiful. It's a vibrant and fun atmosphere that was really well decorated. If you're interested in trying them, look up their specials beforehand or go for half price fajita night! We started off having the Padres Nachos, which was amazing. We went on a Thursday, so the nachos were on HH and so were the margaritas. The food was super quick and the service was excellent. For starters, the salsa was thin and it was difficult to eat it without it dripping off the chip and onto the table, but the flavor was good. Chips were ok. I order chicken tortilla soup often at new restaurants and never found one that I didn't like until Nacho Padres. For starters the small was ridiculously tiny and less than a regular small cup or bowl. My spoon took up the whole cup. There was one slice of chicken and it had a piece of skin or fat on it. The broth was salty and overpowered with a pepper flavor (my guess would be chipotle or abobo). I stopped eating it after a few bites because it was just gross to me. I also split fajitas with my husband and they came out warm, not the nice hot steaming effect you get w freshly grilled fajitas at many places. They were ok, but for the price ($36) for 8 oz, not worth it. There were a few people there for brunch - maybe the brunch is better, but our lunch experience was they the food could be better. If I could give 2.5 I would, but when choosing between a 2 and 3, the food made it closer to 2 for me. read more

We were driving by and thought the place looked pretty cool from the outside. It was a little early for dinner (4pm) but decided to stop anyway. When she found out it was our first visit she offered to walk through the menu with us and she pointed out both the most popular and her favorite dishes. I had the puffy tacos with rice and charro beans. My wife had the chicken tortilla soup. We split a margarita flight. My wife couldn't stop talking about how much she loved the soup. While the tacos were good, they were VERY messy to eat. I probably wouldn't order those again or, if I did I would just eat them with a fork. The Ben's were fantastic. Great flavor with a bit of spice. The Margrit flight was great. The presentation was fun. The pineapple was my wife's fav while I loved the mango. We went for 1/2 off fajitas on Thursday evening. I ordered mine medium rare. When they came out there was no sizzling hot plate and mine was cooked rare. Granted, I would rather have it under cooked than over so I did not send them back. The flavor was good but the green bell pepper flavor was a little over powering. I'm not sure how anyone eats a full meal here without being rolled out of the place. We wondered why everyone was leaving with to-go bags. The riddle was solved when we received our meal- the portions are HUGE! In addition to the portion size, the restaurant has a lot of personality! With witty sayings on the wall, and creative decor, the vibe feels inviting. We tried the spicy pineapple margarita, cucumber mint margarita, poblano queso blanco, taco salad, beef and chicken fajitas, and the tres leches trio. Of those mentioned, the cucumber mint margarita was refreshing, followed by the chicken offered in the fajita chicken. Unfortunately, the tortillas did not feel made in house and the poblano queso blanco had a pudding/baked Brie texture. Offered with chicharron, we instead chose tortilla chips, so it's possible the dish is improved when eaten as intended. Apart from the food, it seems like they're still getting in the flow of things, training and working on offering that 5 star service (lots of mixups and waiting in our service). My family and I came here after church for Sunday Brunch, and one thing is clear: this place leans heavily into the "TEX" side of Tex-Mex. The portions were generous, and we really enjoyed the Flauta Tower--it was definitely the highlight of our meal. The tacos were also tasty, but there's room for improvement in the little details that elevate a dish. One thing we all noticed was the absence of limes, which are essential for Tex-Mex dishes, especially tacos. Small touches like a lime wedge could have elevated most of the dishes tbh. Another miss was the lack of spicy options. When I asked for something to add some heat to my tacos, the only option was Cholula--no spicy salsa or peppers, which seemed odd for a Tex-Mex restaurant. For dessert, we ordered the churros, but they fell short of expectations. While the churros themselves were decent, the chocolate sauce was disappointing--it had the consistency of water. As for the service, our server was friendly but seemed a bit forgetful, making multiple trips back and forth to fulfill our requests. While the service wasn't bad, it felt like the staff might still be getting the hang of things. Overall, this place has potential. It's new, seems to be ironing out the kinks. Wow! We absolutely loved our experience at Nacho Padres. I know there's no kid menu on the actual menu, but they do have one (includes tenders if you have a kid that needs that). I ordered the Mexican taco pizza and it was the best thing I have ever ordered. Not a joke. It's gigantic. The beef was not ground beef it was wonderful. The margarita flight was also divine. Our server was personable, attentive, and kind. She didn't skip a single beat. We didn't want for anything at a table of 5 and my mother in law is incredibly picky. Very close to home but has never gone in. Did take away on a Friday night and it was one of the best Tex mex I've had in a while. I was told about their food and margaritas and planned on dining in but this time we needed something quick and at home. We were not disappointed. Everything was so good. The chips and salsa are amazing, fresh and crispy and the salsa,everything was just perfection! We had the Birria Quesatacos, El Padre and a kids plate with a chicken quesadilla rice and refried beans. We all enjoyed our meals. Normally we'd have left overs for the next day. I took my team to have lunch. Some for their first time and some have recommended it. The waitress was fast to get our ordered in. The food was cool temp and tasted like it could've been in the oven more to get that melting cheese on enchiladas and the rice was over cooked and had crispy parts and tasted like it's been sitting out for a while. My party and I still had a good time. It was our monthly meetings to celebrate birthdays and the we mentioned it to the waitress, it seemed to annoy her because she was thinking we wanted something for free. It gave me a weird feeling when we were already spending a lot of money, why would we want something for free? The fajitas- they are pricey but they are quite possibly the best fajita meat I've had in the area for sure. Definitely worth it. The drinks are good too watch out though because their super sweet drinks they tried to add tahine too- which I am NOT about. I want my margarita to be only sweet, don't mess it up with spice. I'm going to have to go back so that I can note on their deserts because they looked delish! The place is brand new, I'm so glad it's finally open. It's very cute and in a perfect little area. Since there is the strip area behind, there is plenty of parking. We've been looking for a decent Mexican Restaurant with good chips and excellent fajitas. This place has neither! It's SUPER noisy, the chips are from a wholesaler cuz they are meh (at least they were warmed) and the fajita meat is WAY overcooked to the point you can't chew it. Both of our plates were fantastic. The portion sizes are quite large. The wife and I could have easily split her chilaquiles divorciados which would have left me more room for another michelada. I ordered to go .. 3 different entrees from Nachos Padres and I asked them for the complimentary bag of chips per each entree. The guy that took the order said they don't do that. Oh yeah they do ... cause they've always done it when I order to go, no matter what I order. I thought maybe they only provide 1 complimentary bag of chips per order. So, I asked if he could ring each entree separately so it is easier, so each person can get their complimentary bag of chips. The guy then said, no need to do that, he will include the chips for each entree. My total came up to $71+. I didn't think the total sounded right so I called back and spoke to the same guy ... I asked him why the order was $71 when it only came up to $56+ before tax ... per my calculations. He said, it's because of the chips. I said but the chips were complimentary and why did he not mention that he will charge for them. Then he didn't know what to say. I just canceled the order. I spoke to the manager so I can understand what transpired for future purposes and if the guy was wrong, then he needs more training. The manager said they have customers that call and scam and ask for free bags of chips. But I'm not that customer. I didn't call and ask for free bags of chips. I ordered 3 different entrees for 3 different people and asked if he can ring each one separately so each person will get their complimentary chips. The manager said the guy wasn't supposed to charge for the chips. The manager said he was also the owner, but he sounded like the person that took my order, just changed his voice. So not really sure if I ever spoke to the manager. I can't really trust them after what happened. This is bad business. Please train your staff to ask you questions if they are unsure and never charge people for items (that are supposed to be complimentary) without telling them. After this, I don't think I will be recommending them and I don't think I will return. read more

We first ordered the fixed up queso and it came with a side of pork rinds, which we thought was interesting but it actually ended up being pretty good. We ordered a lemon drop margarita as well as a raspberry guava margarita and both were very excellent. I got the beef fajita jumbo burrito and the only comparison was to Chuy's but this was much better than Chuy's big as your face burrito. Overall, excellent job. We where in spring for the holidays and we ate here twice in one week. The food was good I got the Mexican hat dance and get the gringo two big plates with lots of verity and I would say "upscale" Tex mex without the upscale prices. They also serve many margarita's and margarita flights. They have lots of photo opportunities for insta gram. The children's plates were a nice size and quality.
