I came with others to this restaurant. It had good reviews, but when I look at the food, it didn't look like the normal mexican food that I'm used to. I gave it a try by getting a mixed plate with different items so I could try a little bit of everything. My dad got the same thing but a this different mixed plate and we agreed to share and taste each others food. The cheese enchiladas were good. They're made with chili gravy. The chicken flauta was good. I wasn't a fan of the beans and rice nor the Chile Relleno. The cheese is just shredded mozzarella basically not the actual cheesy find in a Chile Relleno. The stuffed avocado was too fried for me and way too much cheese. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the restrooms are super clean, which is always a plus for any restaurant. Unfortunately, we had some issues with our server, lots of miscommunication and a huge language barrier. In the end, I'm starting to wonder if he was just new because he didn't even know how to operate his own payment system. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, but I know a lot of people like this food and restaurant based on other ratings so I say try it for yourself. read more

Maybe it's an off day? Ambiance and service were there, but the food forgot to show up. Chips, salsa and complimentary queso were really good. I ordered the guacamole appetizer and beef fajita enchiladas. The guacamole didn't come out like advertised on the menu. It was only smashed avocado on lettuce. No onion, jalapeno, tomato's, or cilantro. It was fresh, don't get me wrong. But there wasn't even any salt or pepper put in it. The enchiladas had an off taste to the meat. The tortillas they used were rubbery, the red enchilada sauce tasted like it was from a can. The melted cheese almost had a wax texture to it... refried beans definitely come from a can and the rice was okay. Other than the salsa and queso - everything was very bland. If I were to come back - I wouldn't get the enchiladas again. If they made the guacamole as advertised - I'd give it another shot. read more

My family and I enjoyed our visit here today. We were lucky it wasn't busy day today. The place is pretty nice and the staff were very attentive. The food choices were amazing and the price is good. Ambiance is great! We ordered two plates of chimichanga and they were delicious. I had the chonguito in beef fajita and it was good. I really wanted Tex-Mex so I chose this place because it had the best reviews and was on my way to my next stop. It's here I should say my review is only as high as it is because of the staff. They were incredible from start to finish-welcoming, attentive and fast. The food however left a lot to be desired. If you are looking for "Mexican" food that looks and tastes just like it came out of a large can and the kitchen never put a single speck of seasoning, this is your place. I was initially happy to see that the salsa and chips were accompanied by some complimentary queso blanco and I thought that was a nice touch. I ordered one of the daily specials that was supposed to feature a cheese enchilada, ground beef taco and fajita chicken taco. The meal was supposed to come with one other item that was supposed to be chile con carne but when they brought my taco out (within 5 mins of ordering) it had a queso puff and I never saw the chile con carne item. The salsa was probably the best part of the experience. The red has a great flavor with the slightest kick and is possibly the most seasoned thing I ate. Because of the cheese puff I can say the queso blanco and queso are a toss-up -neither edges the other out. My beef taco was watery but thankfully the taco shell was crispy and held up to the task. I started eating my enchilada, rice and beans and it had no flavor so I asked the waiter for Cholula and waited until I could add it to my food before I started eating again. I then opened my chicken fajita taco and saw it was just meat. No onions, no dressing, just tortilla and meat. I dumped the meat on top of my rice and beans, added more Cholula and ate a few more bites before deciding I'd had enough and didn't want to eat more of something I didn't enjoy. This place is for someone who isn't a true Tex-Mex lover and doesn't like seasoning. If that isn't you, try somewhere else. read more

The service and overall vibe here is good. Everybody seemed to be smiling the entire time I was there. I was drawn in by the menu prices (they make no sense mathematically, which is always funny to me) but was unfortunately very disappointed by the food. The queso is Not good at all - I had to mix my salsas into it to make it edible. I love my share of pre-made and homemade quesos, but this was just nasty and had very little flavor. The chicken flautas were also pretty disappointing. They were presented nicely, but the chicken was ground very finely so the mouth feel was not appealing. I ate half of one and gave up. The other thing that wasn't great is their table menus. They show the daily specials but don't specify they're only for 5pm-close. I wouldn't have ordered queso if I knew that was the case. I pointed out that the daily specials menu printed out doesn't indicate any time limitations, but my waiter didn't honor that because there's a separate sign by the cashier that specifies the timings. We love this restaurant for their food (get the street tacos) they are so good but then everything we have had is good. The waiters are so good in an old fashioned way (courteous and helpful). Food comes out hot and spot on. They have happy hour during the week and post the special "plates" on a board when you walk in. Great place, great food and great service! read more

Food is bland! How do you make Mexican food with no flavor? We have dined here with friends more than once & won't be back. The red sauce is a thin, watery hot sauce with no pieces of tomato or onion. It is too spicy hot to eat. Green sauce is thin & watery. Every menu item I have ordered is bland. Birria has no flavor of chiles. The chewy meat has no seasoning. I asked for cilantro & they served DRIED, finely chopped pieces with NO flavor. Cilantro is very perishable & some restaurants think they are saving money by using a flavorless dried product rather than FRESH. It is disgusting. Their rice is the usual flavorless, cheap filler with no seasoning, nothing added, just plain old rice. People who are drinking adult beverages do not notice the taste of the food. The drinks are good, the food is not. I expect vibrant, fresh seasonings, aromatic chiles, onions and fresh cilantro when I order Mexican food. That is how it SHOULD be prepared. Taco Bell has more flavorful food! If all you want are drinks & no food, go for it. Otherwise, skip it. There are hundreds of other Mexican eateries in the Houston area! read more

Sadly, these places aren't as common in the Houston area, and Just a few blocks from this Restaurant's location you are in the woodlands, and you'd be paying about double that. This really should be called Natalita's number two because that's the sign outside. number one's in Jersey Village and Natalita's number three's in Tomball. Dinner for two with drinks is under 40 bucks. And that's with food to spare. I ordered the carnitas, which was a good value. Combo plates are a good value. They have lots of different Mexican beers and late-night Happy Hour with cocktails under six bucks. Staff are friendly native Spanish speakers. Everybody's welcoming. Comfortable place, very homey. What's not to love? This is not an "impressive" place. This is a 1980s Mexican restaurant. It's more like your regular place when you don't want to spend a lot of money. Me and my family love this restaurant. It's "our Mexican restaurant". The staff know us. They are all so sweet and friendly. They take very good care of us. Service is always fast without feeling like you're being rushed out. We've been going for years. We only have had long wait times on Cinco de Mayo and after Hurricane Beryl. This was my first time going here and i decided to place an order for pickup. When i picked up the food the vibes of the interior were exceptional, right off the bat i would return just to dine in. I ordered the Shrimp Enchiladas and the only thing that threw me off was the enchilada sauce. It was very sweet which i wasn't expecting. This is a review of a Mexican restaurant from a fellow Mexicana! I give this place four jalapeños !! The mar y Tierra comes with your choice of fajita and butterfly grilled shrimp. I chose beef fajita, hi honey was flavored well and cooked just right with a bit of pink in the center. You never want to eat fajita that is so over cooked it can be mistaken for jerky lol the shrimp was cooked well. The plate also comes with rice, guac, pico de Gallo, and mmmm charro beans. The juice from the beans was beyond delish! Something from your grandmothers kitchen! It comes in a to go cup (I ordered through door dash) and I am not ashamed to admit when i got to the end of my beans, i sure did pick up the cup and drank the juice. Mmmm hmmm!! This review would have been a perfect 5 but I also ordered the tres leche cake and it was just alright. Nothing fancy or like your tia makes for a special occasion. Overall great meal! read more
