Super glad to have discovered what's clearly a local hotspot. Summary: - The good: draft beer selection, friendly service, good beer knowledge, good craft beer selection, large space, good food. - The not-so-good: parking is limited and therefore sucks when it's crowded, dark beers are served just as cold as light beers, and they need mozzarella sticks or cheese curds on the menu. That's right. Adding fried cheese to the menu is important to me. Because beer + fried cheese = happiness. It is known. Forgot what apps we DID enjoy, but they were good. The wings are also a pretty good choice, with good choices and big meaty wings. The bartenders always know what's good on tap and are a good go-to for trying a new beer to complement your food. I paid $18 for the fancy ass truffle fries ($15 + tip), which is crazy. They were good but for bar food that price is a little much. I could get a full meal for that price and then some. Me and my friends went for trivia (on Tuesday's) and it was ok. Lots of teams playing and the bar was pretty noisy - hard to hear the trivia announcer. We probably wouldn't go back for trivia. My wife and I had lunch here today and it was superb. First thing is that this place is exactly as advertised. It's a draft house. 100s of beers and ciders on draft and in bottles. But their food option in their menu (which includes breakfast!?!?) are impressive. Even more impressive is how good everything there is. We had "Stranger Wings" for an appetizer which is a three wing recipe blend. As the waiter said, it's kind of weird but it really works. They did! My wife had their Thai Burger (see menu photo for description) that was cooked perfectly and had a side of really good crispy fries. I had the BFC Sandwich which is best spicy chicken sandwich in Houston, bar none. Two chicken breasts, very crispy and spicy AND moist chicken. Not dried out like most places end up serving. Portions on burgers and BFC were large. We Took half of our sandwiches home. 2920 and Gosling Road is where you'll find this place and it's a definite try and keep going back place. read more

Excellent take out service! My friend's husband delivers beers to them and she told me they were struggling during this whole COVID mess so I thought I'd support them. It just happened to be steak night and I love it so thought I'd try it. Phone call went very well with a polite and friendly server. When I arrived my food was ready right on time and again I was met with super attentive and sweet service. They asked if I'd like my mineral water bottle opened for me and if I'd like utensils. The food itself was fresh and delicious! The watermelon salad was refreshing and creative with a lovely dressing that complimented it well. The sweet potato fries were actually a whole one cut up and oven roasted which I loved. So much more healthy. The star was the curry ketchup they gave me to dip them in. Ohmy what a wonderful surprise. Came across an ad for Tacos and Trivia Tuesdays and flew over there asap. Party of 2 The place was backed at 7pm for the start of trivia. We could barely find parking and sat at bar cause no tables open. They said they had 20 Teams playing! Super fun even without winning anything. We ordered Pork Belly Tacos, Thai Curry Wings, and Dragon Fries. Everything was amazing albeit quite spicy. I recommend steering clear of the Thai chili peppers and raw jalapeños if you have a low tolerance for heat. Buy its easy to eat around them and still really enjoy the food. 808 Brewery sponsored trivia and had a new Ipa to try which paired perfectly with the food. It was a hazy fruity variety that was refreshing and very filling. The service at the bar was attentative and friendly, and gave us some great recommendations. But honestly the menu was full of impressive and interesting things to try, it was just hard to settle for which items. We will definitely be going back! I came in here because my friends were hosting their baby shower here. Yes, baby shower. Don't judge! They had reserved a secluded area toward the back and they had some food catered by Thistle Draftshop (sliders, salad, chips/salsa/guac); and despite this being a bar, I was impressed by the quality of their food. When I tried the sliders, I was like "oh wow, this is actually pretty good". My friends complimented the salsa, and I personally enjoyed the guac and the chips. Let's talk about the chips. They sprinkled some seasoning on top of the chips that gave it a little kick and added to the flavor. I'm definitely a fan. As for drinks. They have beers. They have lots of beers. People of Spring, Tomball, pretty much everyone in North of Houston, Thistle Draftshop is a destination you have to check out for great food and beer at a great price! I have came here a few times already and every time it's always a great time. Now, I live on the west side of Houston so it would take me at least 45 minutes to get to this place, but man, every time is always fun and get to meet new people there. The first thing you'll notice is how spacious the restaurant is with all kinds of seating, event space, lounge couches, and patios. There's always some sort of special every day of the week days and of course great happy hour price on the beer. Speaking of beer, the people who work there are very knowledgeable about what they have on tap and even if you have read the menu thoroughly with great detail on the styles of beer, sometimes a human suggestion is all it takes to find a new beer for your liking. They also sell cold beers for you to take to-go. But you can get beer anywhere, it's the food that really made the time here even better. The menu is extensive but not overwhelming. I was recommended to get at least the braut of some kind and my friend decided to go for the Kimchi Braut while I got the Bacon Grilled Cheese sandwich that came with a tomato soup. Before that since I was there on Monday night, I got the oysters on a half shell as it's fresh Gulf oysters that's shucked well and decently flavorful. My friend and I got an appetizer, he got Dees Knots (because his last name is Dees) and I got the Octopus tostada, both were wonderful and tasty. One thing surprised me was how cool the tomato soup was. I thought the soup may be piping hot but a slightly cool soup goes better with a hot cheesy melting sandwich for me to dip in. Thistle Draftshop also have games like corn hole for you to play inside or outside, and it's always a good time drinking beer and playing corn hole with new friends.
