I was amazed by the variety, from vibrant Surinam cherries & Jabuticaba (a native Brazilian grape) to familiar favorites like green mangoes and cherimoyas. They even had unique packaging, with some fruits neatly bagged & ready to go. The fresh-cut orchids were also stunning & added a lovely splash of color to the place. If you're looking to explore new flavors or find some beautiful flowers, this is a must-visit spot in the heart of Little Saigon. They have a lot of tropical fruits, which I really like. Sometimes it does get pretty crowded and a bit messy, but honestly that just makes it feel more lively and busy in a good way. I really like their pre fruit boxes, especially pomelo, jackfruit, and other ready to eat fruits. It is a bit more expensive than buying whole fruit and doing it yourself, but I still think it's worth it for the convenience. Usually it's fresh, sweet, and ready to eat right away. I also come here sometimes to buy flowers for my parents during Tết or memorial days. They have decent choices at reasonable prices, so it's easy to grab everything in one trip.

It's a quick grab and go destination where you can pick up some healthy bites and light refreshments while exploring the park. It's a great place to stop to refuel between rides and shows without having a full meal. Some of the offerings at the Fairfax Market include fresh fruit, sliced produce, trail mix, pickles spears, and veggie cups with hummus. For beverages, you can get drinks like coconut water, soft drinks, and other chilled drinks here perfect for a warm summer day in California. The Fairfax Market is a convenient location to stop especially during the festival seasons and summer. It's one of the few quick service spots in California Adventure. Most of the items are $14.99 and under at this spot. Right now for the Holidays, Fairfax Market has the Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Gravestone Bucket which includes small bag of chips. It's a cool decoration! The Agua Fresca Hibiscus is scrumptious and refreshing too! The service is great here, and there are a few benches nearby to sit and eat the snacks!

Total: $14.40 Pros - Fun unique outing opportunity! - Friendly, informative, and welcoming hosts. - A variety of fruits/vegs (about a dozen types in October: radish, lettuce, cantaloupe, cucumber, carrot, pepper, watermelon, beet, squash, pumpkin, tomato, strawberries). - Fresh! The strawberries and tomatoes were delectably sweet and sour. - The farm is big enough to enjoy. No long lines. Pay everything including the parking fee at the end. Cons - Driving there, you may notice a couple CLOSED (on Sundays) signs. Turns out that's for the same-address Nursery. The U-Pick Farm's still open. I was about to turn back. lol - Only one porta potty. So if you're desperate and it's occupied... don't think about doing a fertilizing favor. - The sink by the porta potty is small and button-activated, so that's two flaws: 1) you need to touch the frequent-contact button as you wash your hands, which keeps your hand dirty, and 2) your knuckles rub against the dirty sink basin. - You can buy some of these cheaper at the local grocery store. So if you think about it, you come to the farm to pay MORE to do the work FOR them. It's funny. But yes, you're paying for the fun, the fruits' freshness, and the experience. - Kind of a long drive. Expect total 1-2 hr commute. You may want to bring an ice box. Neutral - Watermelon was refreshing, but the red/white ratio was not as big as I'd like. - The fruits are smaller than at the grocery store, but that's likely because they're natural and non-GMO. That is, the store's fruits are often bigger cuz they're genetically modified. - Most of the fruit/veg rows are labeled, but a few weren't, or weren't clearly labeled. - Too bad the corn wasn't in season.

Admission was only $6 per person, and children under 2 are free, which makes it an affordable outing for families. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They answered our questions and gave us information about the farm. The barn is on the smaller side, but there were still plenty of animals to see, including ponies, goats, chickens, and sheep. Outside, we also saw a turkey, horses, cows, and a pig. We visited around 11:30 a.m. on a Friday, and at one point we had the entire barn to ourselves, which made it especially enjoyable with our little one. Storytime for little ones is offered on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. After visiting the animals, we explored the produce market and were impressed by the variety. They had fresh fruits and vegetables, delicious pastries, breads, jams, and lots of other tasty snacks to browse. If it's your first visit, I'd recommend going during one of their scheduled activities so you can experience the tractor ride as well. There was plenty of parking, and I appreciated that they had a changing table available for babies and toddlers, which made the visit even more family-friendly. Overall, it was a relaxing, low-key outing that's perfect for families with young children. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back to experience more of what Tanaka Farms has to offer!
