Joe's Italian ice is great. One of the best I've had. We went here on a weeknight and the line was wrapped around the block. Parking was a nightmare (this sounds like a theme in So-Cal). We did get lucky and got parking on the side street since someone right in front of us was leaving. The line does move quick though. They have 10 order stations. We got here 30 min before closing and were able to get our order in before they closed. The most popular item is the Joe Latti, which is vanilla ice cream with your choice of Italian ice flavor. We got to sample flavors before ordering as well. I ended up getting wild cherry and mango tango, which was a good combo. The mango was sweet, just the way I like it. My group all got a mix of flavors and everyone enjoyed their joe Latti as well. Customer service was great. They answered all our questions since it was our first time here. The place is always crowded, and there is limited seating and tables in front. We were lucky to get a table. There was also kids revving and speeding up and down the street, so just an FYI. Friend of mine heard about this place after watching American Pickers. Don't let long lines scare you off, the lines move fast and it took us maybe 15 min from standing on side of building to being served. There is a reason so many people are willing to stand in this line, you won't find a better tasting treat! We tried, Joe's latte, brownie sundae, and Oreo Sundae. You know how it gets real quiet around the dinner table when the food is good? Yeah it's like that. The shaved ice is somehow not overly sugary but packed with real fruit flavor and the soft serve on top and hidden inside the shaved ice is freaking amazing. Living next to Disneyland is definitely a gift and a curse. Being able to walk on over to Joe's for a late night sweet treat is definitely one of my favorite pastimes. Although the lines may be long in the summertime and weekends, it does move rather quickly. Since there are so many flavors to choose from, you can always ask for a sample of the flavors you wish to try before purchase (with or without cream). I usually get the strawberry Joelati (strawberry Italian ice with vanilla ice cream). It's usually on the daily flavors menu. They have many flavors available for Italian ice and usually have a sugar free option as well; you will see the day's available flavors on the tv screens once you get to the storefront. If you're really keen on getting a certain flavor of Italian ice, you can visit their website for the flavors of the day prior to making your trip out there. The parking isn't very great but they do try to mediate that with workers out on the lot during busy times directing traffic. I recently tried the orange dreamcicle and it goes great with the ice cream. Joes also has other sweet treats like cones, splits, floats and shakes. Definitely a must try if you're in the area! All dogs eat free at Joe's as well so if you're bringing your furry family members, they can get a treat as well. Outdoor seating available on a first come first serve basis. Today I called to let them know that two of my flavors were incorrect. Not only am I 30 minutes away I have two kids and cannot come back tonight. KENDRA ABEYTA, I'm assuming is related to Joe Abeyta, the owner, was extremely rude and dismissive. Probably felt untouchable because of personal relations. I was trying to reason with her and didn't even say I wanted a refund or to replace all my products purchased just the two they got wrong. I've never tried Joe's Italian Ice and I was excited to! I've literally been dying to come! (I came (3/14) I asked the kind employee what she recommended and she said the sour watermelon was her favorite! I went with that, trusting her. I proceeded to ask an employee to help me out if I may change out my item. He redirected me to the manager (Yesenia). Yesenia comes over and is immediately hostile. Unfriendly. Unprofessional. Arrogant. I explained to Yesenia that the flavor wasn't good since it was really sour and that it was a recommendation from the employee helping me out. Yesenia began to quite literally bark at me and blame me instead of providing a resolution. Yesenia then asked what I wanted to change my item for and she will NOT be providing me a reccomendation. Cool LOL. I ended up getting the regular joe-latti. Yesenia snatched away the sour watermelon ice and threw it away immediately (I was not interested in keeping the sour watermelon ice obviously...) There was a difference of cost with my ice sour watermelon and the joe-latti which I was willing to pay the difference for and Yesenia demanded I pay the difference as if I wasn't willing to. Baby girl and I met my gf here for a treat. Surprisingly it wasn't that long of a line when we arrived. The parking lot was somewhat full. Marlene took our order she was friendly and nice with a smile. We both got the cotton candy with sprinkles but baby girl got the larger size with vanilla ice cream on the bottom and top.
