Definitely worth the drive...Dr. Wong and her staff are great..Helped us out and set up 3 appointments for Me and my 2 adult daughters..all of us were taken care of. Dr Wong has a great selection of lenses.. I picked up a pair of Oakley Sunglasses which she actually fitted a small bifocal...I actually needed to take it back and get it a lil bigger which she was able to do with no issues...it's hard to get one on one service like Dr Wong and her staff provides..we found our new spot...My oldest daughter has a small RX so she was able to walk out with her glasses in hand..Younger wears contacts and was given samples until hers came in..overall great place with great prices and good service.. read more

Dr. Wong and staff are the best! First went El Monte Optometry for regular wear prescription glasses and was impressed with the service. So I went back for prescription sunglasses, which were made excellently for cycling (to read my electronics while pedaling) let alone for all other outdoor/sunny day usage. I didn't stop there. I had need of prescription eyewear in my full face respirator for work. Dr. Wong answered the call when others declined! I've brought my coworker by knowing she could count on the same quality of service. Now she's happy and spreading the word! This place is a waste of time. I called 2-3 weeks before I came in to order contacts only since I have my own prescription and how it's a picture of it. They never informed me that I need the actual prescription. I got off work an hour early rush down from rancho to order contacts and never was able to. To this day I still see Dr. Wong (even though I moved further away) because of the exceptional care I receive. Dr. Wong is very kind, professional, and always takes time to get to know her patients. The staff is equally as helpful and friendly because this is the culture Dr. Wong has set. On top of her exceptional care, the selection and brands that they carry here are great! I've been going to Dr. Wong for over 25 years where she's taken care of my family and I. I recently had an eye irritation / infection and Dr Wong was able to see me immediately. She was very professional and courteous and made sure she took care of my needs. She even followed up with me a few days later to make sure I was alright and when she found out my condition had worsened, she called in a stronger medication to the pharmacy. It's very important to check on your eyes making sure everything is ok. Definitely recommend the staff is nice and friendly and so is the doctor. She is really friendly and makes you feel welcome and asks you questions to make conversation and seems to genuinely care. She does speak Spanish and that is definitely a plus. The office is small but very clean and have a good selection of styles for glasses. I use to go to Dr. Wong before I moved up north in 2007 and she always had the best glasses that fit me. She was reasonable with her cost and was efficient with the exam and time. I moved back to SoCal this year and knew I had to go back to Dr. Wong. Sure enough, she's the same great optometrist I remembered. Dr. Wong finds out what you need, and only recommends what you need! I've been to an Optometrist before where they push you to add on "necessities" to your glasses which end up costing you hundreds of dollars more, but not here! She is very knowledgeable and friendly. She anticipated my needs perfectly. The collection they have at the store in sun and eye glasses is pretty extensive considering how small the store looks. AND they can order most other styles for you if it's not in the store. My work schedule is busy so the only downside for me- which I still won't take a star for, because I love this place- is that while other places may have multiple doctors, I think this one only has Dr Wong so you really have to schedule an appointment in advance to see her. It's hard to just pop in when you are free. read more
