Excellent! I was craving huevos rancheros around lunchtime so the "Breakfast Served All Day" sign was just what I needed! The meal was nearly perfect. Simple and good huevos rancheros. The beans, rice, eggs, and green chili were all excellent. This really hit the spot. For what I was craving, I don't think I could have asked for a better meal! There was one staff member working the register and dining room which was plenty given that the dining room is very small. She as very polite and the food came out quickly. The only potential negative is that parking could be a bit rough. This restaurant is located in a small and busy strip mall. I had to wait for one car to pull out so I could park. Even if I had to walk a block or two, it would be worth it to eat here. read more

Mannnn lemme tell ya... this place has one of the best pozole rojos I've had in awhile. Deeply flavored broth, fall apart meat, just incredible. Drive by this place all the time so thought I'd try. Better than expected and reasonably priced

I had an appointment next door to get my nails done and arrived early so I stopped here for a quick bite. This place is AMAZING! I ordered the steak lunch burrito and a side of beans. All of the food was steamy hot and incredibly delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I had to remind myself to slow down and drink in between bites! The burrito was wrapped tightly in foil so that I could unwrap as I was eating. It was a flavor explosion and incredibly satisfying. The beans were flavorful and had a sprinkle of cheese on top. Best of all, it took them less than 5 minutes to have my order completed despite being a walk-in. They even tied my food up in a bag with silverware and a napkin inside. read more

Came in hoping for a sub $4 lunch burrito, ended up paying $4.80. What a total rip-off. Kidding aside, I've had cheap burritos that are filled with mostly refried beans and sauce, but this was not one of them. It was actually quite tasty -- still on the beany saucy side, where I'd prefer a little more substance, but for under $5 for a decently sized burrito, I'm really not complaining. Looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of their burritos, but for now the Al Pastor is more saucy than I was expecting but very tasty. read more

Steak and eggs? Who are you kidding? Menudo with 90% corn maiz? might as well call it grit soup. Bad choices maybe, bad day maybe, bad timing? Who knows. There is no gratuity chips and salsa. My wife asked if there is maiz in the menudo. The server says we can accommodate, still was ridiculous amount of corn in her menudo. The two stars is for the green chile. Had to try this place after reading all the amazing reviews and it didn't disappoint. Went for breakfast burritos on a Saturday and was served quickly. You can't beat a breakfast under $4. Service was friendly and quick, the restaurant was spotlessly clean, and the fresh salsa bar was a great touch. El Nopalito is pretty small, but don't let that scare you away from eating in because they have about a half a dozen tables and a TV tuned into the Spanish soaps which is really all you need when you're going to chow down on some chorizo tacos. Sadly, I didn't get the chorizo which is apparently the divine meat of choice. I also for some reason opted to get a burrito instead of a taco. Silly me. So while my food was good I definitely wasn't blown away. My interested however is piqued and I will be back to give those tacos a tumble in my tummy. There is also a lovely selection of drinks in the cooler, everything you could ask for to wash your Mexican meal down including my personal favorite - Fanta. And everyone that helped us while we were here for lunch was super friendly. The only other thing I found slightly odd was that the prices on the menu seemed reasonable, but somehow we still managed to spend about $15 per person for lunch here which seems crazy to me for a taco joint. read more

Really liked the tacos! The tamales were pretty tasty too. A small cantina to feed worker bees on a budget. The al pastor tacos, per recommendation of our server were delicious. They have red and green pork tamales, The green chile ones were our favorite of the two. We purchased them a la carte, which was not on the menu, because I am a tamale fiend. The buritto we shared, was carnitas. The pork and beans were cooked nicely- though I am not big on cheddar cheese being used in Mexican food, especially the orange kind. It just overpowers the delicate nature of the meat and beans- for me at least. The plastic table clothes overhang, and in the pro stance- it may protect your lap, on the con stance- I don't think the sides get wiped like the table top. Really close to Broadway, and Alameda, as well as Alameda station. Inexpensive tasty, and it digested without any ill effects. The are only open for breakfast, lunch, and a early dinner. Tiny unassuming counter service joint that I'd walked past countless times before going in. Prices are LOW, food is fresh and excellent. I haven't branched out to the entrees or plates yet, but the breakfast and lunch burritos are fantastic. Hot sauces are house made and a little milder than I'd prefer. Far better than Santiago's. This place has terrible parking but amazing food. Everything is very authentic and they offer options you wouldn't normally find at other places. Cheese fries for one?... I didn't get them but they looked amazing. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with red sauce. The red sauce was very good and the enchiladas were filled with melty goodness. It came with rice and beans which were both very flavorful. This place is an order at the counter (then they will bring it out to you) kind of place. Its fact, has great prices, and a good selection. In Denver the world of breakfast burritos is vast and competitive, but El Nopalito is worlds above the rest. their hand held burrito is cheap and one of the best in the city. I even ventured in for lunch one day and had the pesole and was blown away! Everything they do is on point. and it's the same familiar,friendly faces every single day. I've only had the carne asada and al pastor burritos but both were great, red and green sauce if you like as well. Both burritos where kinda messy they don't seem to roll them up all the way but whatever. Only real complaint is the hrs they close early and not open on sundays. Definitely check out though much better way better then senior burrito. read more

I first tried El Nopalito a few months back while visiting Denver. I was told that their breakfast burritos were awesome with a homemade feel. So I kindly obliged and the love affair began. Lol. The people who work there are friendly (especially a girl called Jasmine who shows great customer service and attention to detail every time I've gone in). Their burritos are great and my favorites are the Chorizo/Egg/Potato with green chili as well as the ground beef. Their tacos are really good as well and overall I like the vibe of the place in terms of friendliness and attitude. When I'm in town I frequent weekly. Give this a place a try. read more

About halfway through my third taco on my four taco plate, I looked up at Tiffany N and said, "Um, I think I might want another four of these." I hope I didn't get chorizo on her as I wolfed down four of the best tasting tacos I have ever had in. my. life. It was so good, all parts of my brain shut down, except the animal side, the part that just wants to eat the hell out of some tacos and not be bothered with the worries of the world outside the walls of El Nopalito. Upon entering this place, it seems like you might have a problem communicating your order in English to the cashier (not that that's a bad thing in a taco joint). However, the woman up front speaks English fluently, making this an even more pleasant experience. I ordered the 4 corn tacos plate with chorizo, cheese, avocado and sour cream. Then I saw it. The cooler that sealed the 5-star deal for this place. This soda cooler has just about ever delicious Mexican soda you could ever want. Including (and the heavens opend and a light shone down upon the cooler of the angels) MEXICAN ORANGE FANTA. Oh God. It was so good. Oh, and this is THE best chorizo I have ever had. Spicy, but not so spicy that I was weeping within minutes of eating it. Paired with the avocado and sour cream, it was something divine. I haven't been able to stop thinking about them. In fact, I think I may develop a relationship with this place as intense as some of the love affairs taking place on the Mexican soap operas playing on the TV in the restaurant.
