    Adobo Chicken fajitas
    Ed D.

Love the decor and ambiance. Tall ceilings with a very pretty mosaic at the front extending along the side of the bar. Lots of seating inside and outside and they apparently have a rooftop also. We came there for Monday dinner and it was packed. No wonder! Good service and tasty food. Our server James was very attentive and friendly. He also suggested the pork belly with avocado and chips and it was delicious. The pork belly was in crispy small chunks and the avocado dip had a lime flavor. I ordered the chicken adobo fajitas and it was both filling and very tasty. My friend ordered the quesa berria which was also good but I liked my fajitas better. We also got cocktails and a side of mesquite corn. Prices weren't bad. Great place in Larimers Square!

My colleague and I attended a private work event at this restaurant and were rather impressed with the service and food. There was a build your own taco buffet, mocktails, and churros and sweet empanadas for dessert. The food and bar was in one private section and we were seated in another private room that was connected. The layout was very nice and spacious. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're planning to host a private event, or simply stop by for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed!

    Bonito Guacamole

3.5 stars. Service was great. Parking is typical for Downtown. My friend and I made a reservation for a Tuesday evening right before seeing a show at one of the DCPA theaters. My favorite dish was probably the Bonito Guacamole. It was hard to tell from looking at the menu what was guacamole and what was salsa, based on the header. We shared the Quesabirria and got our own tacos. I ordered Carne Asada. I did like the Quesabirria but found the Asada to be tough and dry. That's unfortunate. We didn't have room for dessert, but the margaritas were decent. I'm curious about a few other things on their menu so might try again - especially for happy hour!

Great food, ambiance, and service. I came here in a group of 5 and everybody loved their food and drinks. They don't allow a mix and match taco plate but we did that amongst our table (each ordering a separate and trading) and everyone enjoyed trying more taco types. I got their veggie fajitas which were great and I traded the flour tortillas for their blue corn ones to make it GF and it was delicious. Often fajitas are a 2 person meal but I wouldn't say that's true for theirs (at least for the veggie) more like 1 and a snack leftover meal. The interior is well decorated and has a really fun and upscale vibe.

The food here was so mid, but I was really looking forward to trying this spot. The customer service was exceptional. I was expecting bolder flavors, and while the food was not bland (besides the eggs) they could've developed the flavors and added more birria meat to the Migas norteñas. The chipotle bacon I'm not sure if I missed the crispy part of the name, but it could be crispy without being overcooked and burnt which it was.

My friend and I were walking around Larmier Square on a Saturday looking for a brunch spot and came across Tamayo. We walked in to find it pretty well occupied around noon, but still with some empty tables. We were seated right away. The decor was lovely. It was primarily natural, earthy tones, with succulents, and a big pop of color with bright murals above the bar, creating a warm glow. I was vaguely familiar with Chef Richard Sandoval due to his brief appearance on Top Chef, but didn't know too much about his cuisine. The brunch has a really fun and original idea in that you can order bottomless small plates for $42 per person or bottomless food and drinks for $59 in person, with a two-hour limit. I would have loved to try that, but we had a lot of plans that day so opted for the à la carte menu. I chose a mimosa and my friend chose a michelada. for our drinks We shared the ceviche. I ordered the chicken tinga enchiladas, while my friend ordered the fish tacos. We shared all of the food. The ceviche was excellent, flavorful and fresh. I enjoyed the enchiladas. The portion was generous. I wasn't too fond of the tacos. There was nothing wrong with them, aside from the fact that I don't like breaded fish, but they just didn't have a ton of flavor. I will say service started strong, but then fell off a bit. Our server and food runner were friendly, but it was hard to get extra utensils when we needed them. All in all, it was a great brunch spot. If I were in town again, I would definitely be tempted to try the bottomless brunch.

    Dessert: Empanadas de Platano**

I was excited to dine here, and it did not disappoint! I love a restaurant that literally has so many yummy sounding options it's tough to choose...so you put it in the hands of your server (Stevie). My only request was light and flavorful. It was all so good! The Ancho Chile Margarita, Snapper Ceviche, Chile Relleno, and Empanadas de Plantano...all perfection!

Stopped on for a work lunch today, but think I'd only go back if someone else is paying or it's happy hour. The food was fine, but nothing outstanding. Everything tasted like it should but I was expecting bigger, bolder flavors. The appetizers came out quickly and had these cute serving pigs, but their feet were "well used" and kept flopping over. The homemade flour tortillas were nice. I had Tampiqueña was a good tasting but $32 seemed steep priced. The queso and pork belly guacamole are worth getting but ask for some extra chips. The venue is probably the highlight as it's well decorated and feels trendy.

Service excellent, the food, not so much. Upscale "Mexican" read way overpriced. I judge Mexican restaurants by their quacamole. For $16, this quac was tasteless. Just smashed avos, no seasoning a couple big chunks of red onion an jalapeño. Dreadful. We stopped there. Sad.

Tamayo makes a very strong case for fajitas being the perfect dish. They arrive sizzling, announcing themselves before you even see them. Ribeye, peppers, onions, tortillas, sour cream, guacamole, salsa. Everything you need, nothing you don't. You build each bite exactly how you want it, which honestly feels like self care. Chef Richard Sandoval and his team do this exceptionally well. The ribeye was cooked beautifully, full of flavor, and the accompaniments were fresh and generous. This is fajita excellence. What really surprised me was their mocktail program. We skipped alcohol entirely and didn't feel like we were missing anything. The drinks were thoughtful, balanced, and actually interesting. I left full, happy, and felt great the next morning, which feels very on brand for my 2026 goals. Do yourself a favor and order the ribeye fajitas. Get dessert too. Growth is about balance.

Absolutely loved my experience here! The decor is stunning--the perfect mix of chic and cozy, making it an ideal spot for a date night or a night out. The food was just as impressive, every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. To top it off, the cocktail menu is creative and the drinks were perfectly balanced. Exceptional service and a great vibe all around. I'll definitely be back! Shrimp and crab enchiladas was the best thing !!!!

Special - margarita with ticket stub from Buell

Still my favorite in Larimer Square. 25 years and going strong. Something new, a "free" Margarita with your ticket stub from the Buell. Still loving my Camarones al Chipotle! Great service.

    Al Pastor Tacos
    Barbara S.

I thought this place was great! I tried their al pastor tacos, and they did not disappoint. The salsa and lime really helped add that extra flavor I look for in a good taco. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. The service was also pretty good and added to the overall positive experience. My friend ordered the chile relleno dish and ceviche and could not stop raving about how delicious all the food was. I didn't try it myself, but honestly, thinking back, I'm kind of regretting not stealing a couple of bites. We came to celebrate a birthday, so of course we had to get churros for dessert, and they were so yummy. Overall, this was a great spot for a fun celebration or a casual night out, and I'd definitely come back to try more items on the menu. I heard their brunch is great!

Do they offer skinny margaritas (less sweet/sugar and not with full-sugar mix)?

Is the outdoor seating pet friendly?

Yes, they're pet friendly for outdoor patio seating in the summer.

    Any require reservations?

When I went about 2-3 weeks ago they were accepting walk ins. I went by last week and it wasn't full so I would assume walk ins are acceptable.

Do they have heat lamps for outdoor dining? Are dogs allowed for outdoor dining?

We are going in for brunch with a group of 8. Do you know if its possible to order off the regular menu if others at the table are doing the endless brunch/bottomless drinks? Thanks!

Hi Christalle! Unfortunately bottomless brunch must be enjoyed by the entire table.

    Do you have Vegan options?

Yes we do! Please inform your server upon arrival and they will walk through all options with you.

Ever since moving to Denver, Alma Fonda Fina has been at the top of my restaurant bucket list. I…read morefinally managed to get a reservation (booked exactly 60 days in advance when they opened), and it was absolutely worth the wait. Having that much time before our reservation also meant I got to thoroughly research the menu, which definitely paid off. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's small, intimate, and has a modern aesthetic. There isn't a ton of seating, but that's part of the charm. There's patio seating along the railing outside, bar seating where you can watch the chefs work their magic in the open kitchen, and just a handful of tables inside. Parking is street parking in the surrounding neighborhood, and from what it looked like, most of it is paid. It was just me and a friend, and we shared four dishes, which ended up being the perfect amount of food. We started with the Callo de Hacha al Horno, and these were hands down the best scallops I've ever had. The presentation alone was gorgeous, with the scallops served in their shell, but the flavor completely stole the show. I'm a huge seafood fan, and this dish absolutely delivered. My friend isn't even much of a seafood person, and it was his first time trying scallops and he loved them too. I joked that he may have ruined scallops for himself because it's hard to imagine finding a better version. Next, we each ordered a Taco Campechano, and wow. This was either the best or second-best taco I've ever had. The taco features two different meats with a green salsa on one half and a red salsa on the other, making every bite a little different. Both sides were fantastic, but the green salsa was next level. At around $11, this feels like one of the best values on the menu and is an absolute must-order. Our third dish was the Birria de Borrego, and it was incredible. The lamb shank was so tender that the bone slid right out with almost no effort. It comes with beans, salsa, and house-made blue corn tortillas so you can build your own tacos. Speaking of the tortillas--they deserve their own praise. They were phenomenal, and we honestly joked about asking for an order to take home. Our final dish was the Camote Asado, which I'd seen recommended all over the internet. Maybe I built it up too much in my head because it ended up being the only dish that didn't blow me away. Don't get me wrong, it was still very good. The sweet potato was perfectly cooked, and the fennel whipped requesón was delicious. My only heads-up for future diners is that some bites pack a surprising amount of heat, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind. I enjoy spicy food, but it's worth mentioning for those who don't! The service was excellent as well. They take your entire order at the beginning of the meal and then thoughtfully pace each course, which made the whole dining experience feel relaxed and intentional. One thing that really surprised me was the value. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, this was incredibly affordable. We ordered four courses between the two of us, and even after tip, our total was only around $120 (we didn't order cocktails). That's an exceptional value for the quality of food and overall experience! Overall, Alma Fonda Fina completely lived up to the hype. Between the incredible execution, creative flavors, intimate atmosphere, and surprisingly reasonable pricing, this has quickly become one of my all-time favorite restaurants. It's easy to see why reservations are so hard to get, and I'll absolutely be back. Next time, I'm hoping to grab a seat at the chef's counter to watch the team in action while working my way through even more of the menu.

The sweet potato still my favorite dish, but I hand to day the queso funfido from the happy hour menu was a close 2nd. If you go 2-5pm, I can't recommend this enough. You have to get it. Same as my 1st time going, I love this restaurant for their great dishes and flavor profiles. I absolutely feel like I'm paying for the food, and not any atmosphere or showsmenship, which for me is an important factor when recommending a restaurant. Only small detail, we got the ceviche as our 4th dish. Given that is sweet due to the coconut milk, I feel this should have been last as a kind-of desert-like dish. Either way, still an absolute gem and must in town
