1 Chipotle Tempeh and 2 Soy Curl tacos
    Megan L.

Came here to try their vegetarian tacos. Got 2 soy curl tacos, and 1 chipotle tempeh taco, which was $2 each. Tempeh was okay, but I thoroughly enjoyed the soy curl tacos! Their tacos are pretty small with some lettuce, cilantro, and tomato on top. Very simple but the texture of the soy curl was quite meat-like. The tempeh texture was like small hard potatoes or beans, I prefer the soy curls. I give this place 4 stars over 3 because I have yet to see any soy curls available elsewhere.

I was really excited to try this place out as they offered Vegan cheez. I ordered nachos with beef and guac. Let's start out with the base, the corn tortilla chips were too thin and could not support the toppings. Yes, they used vegan cheez, but there was barely anything on my nachos, didn't even cover 1/3 of the order. They used ground beef vs. carne asada (steak), it was okay. The guac was good. The person who took my order was extremely helpful and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. Street parking was easy to find.

For the most part we really liked everything from El Nutri-taco. The only thing that bums me out is that I took at least five or six bites of my burrito. The first third of the burrito. And there was not much flavor! No spice. All of the spice and flavor was in the last 2/3 of the burrito. It was sort of weird. I was really bummed out to start off with and then things turned out not too bad. I just wish the flavor was spread throughout the entire burrito!

    Soy curls and carnitas tacos

Seems like veggie is the focus, but they also offer meat versions. I ordered a soy curls taco and a carnitas one. Not a fan of blah shredded lettuce so a negative there. Both were good and about average size for the price. Hot sauce choices were non-thrilling red and green. Service was fine. No overall highs or lows. It's the kind of place I won't go out of my to visit, but may stop by if I'm driving by and have a hankering for Mexican food.

Awesome vegan twist to classic Mexican dishes! Prices are very reasonable for the value you get. I shared a burrito with a friend and it was more than enough for the both of us. Everything was cooked perfectly and the tofu was a great protein substitute.

The best Mexican food I have had since I moved to the area. The Verde chimichanga was crispy and doused with a fantastic verde sauce that was tangy and zippy. I would have loved to take a picture but I devoured it as soon as it was placed in front of me. The chipotle soy curls were really delicious and went perfectly in the verde chimichanga. My friend had the al pastor tacos and also went back for seconds. A great place for vegans/vegetarians/and carnivorous friends to have a fantastic meal!

I wasn't so happy with my experience having lunch year. Even though the staff seems to work hard and pay attention to our order... the food didn't have any flavor. I wouldn't say this is authentic Mexican food because of the lack of flavor. I asked for some pico de gallo and salsa to liven it up.

The tortilla hides the magic of what was in the tempeh (with potatoes instead of tempeh) burrito.

This place is no joke. I've passed by it a million times while being distracted by everything else Alberta has to offer, but with a little help from fellow yelpers and a hungry belly, here is where I ended up. The menu is simple but I feel like the options are endless. I love that the chipotle aioli is vegan no matter what, because at any other restaurant us vegans would have to miss out on the gold that is aioli, but not here! Freakin potatoes. They're good on everything. Either that, or their burritos make everything taste good on it. They could roll anything up in with their ingredients and I would like it. I've been back already more times that I'd like to admit, but they're an awesome group of people who really know how to make a goooood burrito!

AMAZING! The vegan substitutes here are unbeatable. I've never seen such a variety offered! So good and great service.

Yes boys and girls, meat tacos!

Ask the Community - El Nutri Taco

Who delivers El Nutri? I know I've ordered delivery before. Via Yelp only says my address is too far. Anybody know which service has it?

We partner with Postmates, Grubhub and Doordash.

What is the cilantro situation up in here? Lots, almost none, none?

I am big time anti-cilantro and ask to hold off on that demon spice and they always pull through. A little in some pico is to be expected, but they're happy to hold the additions

The person at the counter taking our order was helpful, efficient, and their enthusiasm carried over into the dining portion of the visit. My rule of thumb is that if a place has Cochinita Pibil on the menu, then they can be counted on to do things right. My CP taco had just the right amount of spice to leave me with a pleasant, warm feeling inside, about a half hour after we left. The horchata was cool and soothing, even though it had a wonderful, over-the-top cinnamon flavor. Both the fish and the prawns were cooked in a red sauce that was delicious! I meant to ask for blue corn tortillas but was so excited to find shrimp & fish tacos that weren't deep-fried that I forgot to ask for them. The regular corn tortillas were excellent, though, so it was not a bad mistake to make. I also had jamaica to drink and let me tell you... it was not made from a mix! It was dark, thirst-quenching, and perfectly made. Most jamaica is super sweet - this was not! I love the flavor of real hibiscus and this did not disappoint. My friends had chile relleno bowls and birria tacos, all of which was excellent. Their watermelon margaritas were tasty and refreshing! Our orders were taken by a helpful person at the cash register and the food was served quickly by a friendly server. The inside and outside areas were clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available at the outside tables. The outdoor seating area is under cover making it a good choice for both summer & winter dining. Definitely going on my "have to go back and try something else" list!

And to be honest, we were debating whether to get papi chulo's or not since it was a weeknight and we never eat out on weeknights. Safe to say, it was a mistake. They told her on the phone that our pick up order would be ready in 10 min. I walked in there 15 min later to get it, and it was not ready. The gentleman helping me out when I walked in looked like he had zero idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the pick up order name. He then immediately walked away from me and went to the register, and proceeded to ask me what I ordered and at this point, I knew he didn't know what it was and he said, "oh, it will be ready in 7 minutes." I ordered only 3 Breakfast burritos with no meat or anything in them - so, I thought 7 min wasn't too bad. Boy, was I wrong. It actually took 20 min (yes, 20 min) with me standing there by the table until the order was ready with no number or anything. I'll remind you all that there were legit 2 other customers in there and ONE CUSTOMER received their order before our 3 breakfast burritos were ready! That isn't right. I get sometimes food takes awhile, but both of them didn't apologize or anything while I was waiting. I've been to Muchas Gracious waiting for my order before, and they offered me a free drink because they felt bad they were having me wait 5 min! I don't accept it because I felt bad, but the point is, the lack of accountability and customer service during this experience was dreadful. And to be honest, the times I've been here, they haven't ever been too nice to me. After the order was finally ready, the lady working by the grill stuffed in at least 10 plastic containers of hot sauce into my bag. When we got home, most of them opened up and it left the biggest mess in the bag! Come on guys. This was just bad. Plus, my burritos were greasy anyways and tasted off. (See picture of the mess). I won't lie, there's plenty of other Mexican restaurants and establishments I can go to other than Papi Chulo's. Pretty disappointing experience overall and I can guarantee you I won't be going back anytime soon. I'd give the experience a 1/10 and the food a 2/10.
