Such GREAT tacos! Needed a taco fix - driving by and thought I'd give it a go. Glad I did! Two Carnitas & a Pollo. The pork was tender and juicy with a crispy outer layer just how I like it. The chicken was also very well made and tender. As you can see Luis loaded them up and the three came out with cheeps y guac! I was not expecting that. Finished it all but I was full and could not eat another bite if I wanted! The place itself was very clean and nice. Love the plentiful outdoor seating and salsa bar. Big fan of their burritos! Yes, they are huge, but that only matters if they taste good. Here it is quality & quantity. One burrito is two meals for me! A,so love their twcos which are a legit street taco. Fresh corn tortillas topped with flavorful carnitas, chopped onion and cilantro. Add a squeeze of lime and some hot jalapeño sauce and I'm super happy! Next time I want to try the chilaquiles. Not many taco places offer these and this dish is one of my faves. Thing is, you definitely need to eat them there while they are hot and typically when I stop at Los Gorditos I'm picking up dinner to go As I drive down SE Powell heading home. The food was good enough. I had a stacy burrito and my dining companion had one of the vegetarian ones. Our experience was marred by the presence of fruit flies and by the two large dogs accompanied by some guys picking up a to-go order. They obviously were friends of the sole employee. What even happened here? My spouse and i were regulars, it was a tough month but came in to all the machines changed out, a new cook and now selling ice cream and coffee. It was literally the worst mexican food I've ever had in my life. They folded the burritos worse than taco bell, seem to season with nothing but cinnamon, and i used a measuring cup to check, one burrito leaked a full 1/3 cup of oil. What even was this? That was disgusting. Never coming back. To the owners i just checked, we visited more than 25 times last year, i bet you lose more customers than us. read more

So happy this has opened here! Tons of options on the menu- including plentiful vegetarian/vegan choices! Breakfast is served all day so of course I tried the chilaquiles- got them with egg (tofu available) and soyrizo (all meats are options). They were super fresh and delicious and I like how the eggs were fried rather than scrambled. It was a very filling meal as it also came with beans (super creamy) and rice (average). Salsa bar was fresh and tasty as well, though I didn't really need to add more flavor to the chilaquiles. Cans of Bubly were available as well as fountain drinks, but not sure they had any beer/wine. Nice long patio outside for when the weather is nicer! I highly recommend this place- for vegetarians or those looking to eat less meat- if you're in the mood for fresh Mexican food at decent prices! I loved this place and would get food from their cart all the time when living in Portland. On 09/25/2020 I wanted some authentic vegan Mexican food after a long day of flying and was super happy with the short time it took for our order..the food was delicious but then after several bites I tasted something strange and thought maybe it was the spices. Then I went for another bite and as I brought it to my face I saw the bug..absolutely disgusting. I will never buy food from this establishment again. Love it! I go about twice a month. The burritos are my main choice. If I'm very hungry I can finish it in one sitting.

All the other gorditos locations I've been to have been consistently fantastic. Fresh, nicely prepared, wonderful reciprs, terrific service. The Powell location, however, has Ben consistently terrible since the day it opened. Every order I've ever placed has been incorrect In some significant way . The wait times are long, the recipes do not seem to be the same, and there's always something weirdly funky about the preparation . After a year of avoiding them I gave them another try this past week . Exactly the same issues. Next time I'm going to Drive to the inner Southeast location on division. Hmm.. First time here. The prices are good and the fact that they have vegan and GF options is great. I kept it simple a chicken burrito. The portion was good as was the tortilla, the chicken was shedded and mildly spiced and had a good texture. I did have a problem with the bean... Slurry?.? It was a very wet burrito and I am just not used to that. I do mean wet. It was hard to eat because it was squishy it did not taste bad it just had a weird mouth feel. Like you could suck the filling of the burrito out like chupacabra. Anyway there are a ton of other things I will try next time I come. It's not a bad place clean kitchen and a good staff I would recommend it to others. read more

Not only does this place look AMAZING but the staff is wonderful. We have some serious food allergies so we had a lot of questions about ingredients and they didn't get upset and were actually happy to help and go look at the labels. We are super excited that they opened this so close to our house. We will for sure be a regular. Yelp disappeared my review and check in as the first to review and notify Yelp of this new business. In any case the food was great. They are our favorite Mexican restaurant for vegetarian and vegan. I have never been disappointed with a burrito from Los Gorditos. I miss the old cart in front of the strip club on Powell that was way closer to my house. Great options for omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans as well. My favorite is the super Stacy burrito with chicken... or anything. The breakfast burritos are also really amazing. I'm not vegan (I dabble) but when I ordered a vegan burrito the young man in the cart basically told me every other vegan item I could add (vegan sour cream, vegan chz, avocado, etc). Which was just so amazing. I've been to the brick and mortars a few times for takeout with absolutely zero complaints. Quite affordable and just an awesome option. I don't know anyone credible who would speak ill of the food from Los Gorditos. read more

I've driven by here several times since they opened and always thought it would be a good place to try, so after picking my kid up from school at nearby Earl Boyles, I did just that. Now, I'm hardly a vegan, but I do enjoy some of the various meat substitutes that are out there, so I went with the Garbage Burrito (flour tortilla stuffed with Soycurls, soyrizo, tofu, beans, rice, red & green salsa, onion & cilantro.) I also got a side of chips and salsa, and I picked up some red (molcajete) and green salsa from the salsa bar. The burrito itself was great and will probably be my go-to when we eat here. Everything just blended together perfectly. Even though I associate chorizo (or soyrizo in this case) with breakfast burritos, it really worked well with everything else. The chips were obviously hand made, but it was the salsa that really blew me away. It was very thin which I REALLY don't like, but the taste/texture was akin to a broth. It was so good. It has this deep richness that was super yummy. My only (minor) complaint is no pico de gallo at the salsa bar, but there were enough other good options, that didn't bother me too much. Split a half of a carne asada breakfast burrito with my feller because we were HANGRY after Christmas things. Burrito was rolled way loose and stopped being something one could eat quick with their hands and turned into a fork and knife ordeal. Very messy. Grabbed a thing of guacamole to go with it--found a produce sticker cut and mixed in. When I addressed The situation with the cashier I was met with a blank stare and zero suggestions to fix the situation.. Overall not very impressed with the customer service after spending four dollars for a poot of guacamole that had a sticker in it. read more
