Big fan of their burritos! Yes, they are huge, but that only matters if they taste good. Here it is quality & quantity. One burrito is two meals for me! A,so love their twcos which are a legit street taco. Fresh corn tortillas topped with flavorful carnitas, chopped onion and cilantro. Add a squeeze of lime and some hot jalapeño sauce and I'm super happy! Next time I want to try the chilaquiles. Not many taco places offer these and this dish is one of my faves. Thing is, you definitely need to eat them there while they are hot and typically when I stop at Los Gorditos I'm picking up dinner to go As I drive down SE Powell heading home. There are several Los Gorditos all over Portland: the Pearl, North Portland, SE. They seem to have the formula down and they offer lots of vegan options - an entire menu - and gluten free options so everyone can enjoy their food.

Took a lunch break today and I should've gotten just a bean burrito. Just don't get the enchiladas, they are bitter and for the most part burnt. Way to heavy on garlic. The beans are the reason for an extra star.

So happy this has opened here! Tons of options on the menu- including plentiful vegetarian/vegan choices! Breakfast is served all day so of course I tried the chilaquiles- got them with egg (tofu available) and soyrizo (all meats are options). They were super fresh and delicious and I like how the eggs were fried rather than scrambled. It was a very filling meal as it also came with beans (super creamy) and rice (average). Salsa bar was fresh and tasty as well, though I didn't really need to add more flavor to the chilaquiles. Cans of Bubly were available as well as fountain drinks, but not sure they had any beer/wine. Nice long patio outside for when the weather is nicer! I highly recommend this place- for vegetarians or those looking to eat less meat- if you're in the mood for fresh Mexican food at decent prices! (Yes they have real meat, too.)

Been a fan of Los Gorditos for years now. Always quality food and lots of vegan options. Unfortunately today I found hair in my burrito. Don't think I can go here again.

Best in Portland. If there is a better place in Portland, please let me know. Don't say Por Que No because that place isn't that great. I longer have to wait for King Taco, Tacos El Gavilan, or any great taco place in So Cal. Los Angeles people know what I'm talking about. Finally, a great place to come to for what I miss about California. What's unique about them is that they offer regular meat, vegetarian, AND vegan options. It's great place for any lifestyle diet to enjoy delicious food with the fam and friends. This is their first fully owned property location, so let's support them as much as we can!

We ordered both the chicken and carne asada plates. The portions of both were very generous. The chicken was tender and tasty, and lots of it. Won't be ordering the carne asada again though since it was essentially unseasoned, and a little on the tough side.

Vegan enchilada plate with a wonderful surprise ..

It had so many different flavors and textures, and somehow they all worked perfectly together. The waiter also suggested mixing everything together before taking the first bite, which I really appreciated. The ambiance was super cute, with a cozy little tiki-bar vibe inside, and they also have a few outdoor tables. The service was exceptional throughout. This is an easy 5-star review from me.

The food was so good it made my day; adding tempeh to the mighty bowl with the garlic and tahini sauce is so good. 10/10 recommend. The real reason I came to write this review though is because staff is super sweet and genuine. It was my first time coming here, and I had a lot of questions about the menu to the point where I could feel myself becoming annoying (face palm). The gal taking my order was Jessi, she was so helpful, kind, knowledgeable, accommodating, and authentically friendly. I can't remember what it was that we shared a laugh about, but I walked away happy because of that type of simple interaction that restores your faith in humanity. People who have never worked in the service industry are generally clueless and walk into a restaurants like it's their first day on earth. I love chocolate and peanut butter together esp with coffee but their drink was inedible with an awful taste. Maybe they gave me almond butter by mistake. Woof I couldn't even force it down. The quesadilla was incredibly greasy and nothing like a quesadilla. The mouth feel of the walnut chorizo with the soft vegetables was weird / it felt gritty. The flavors fell as well. The only highlight was the salsa but I'm 90% sure it was salsa de welo which you can buy at a store. No one would finish my quesadillas at the table. Major miss for me. Watch in-depth video breakdown here…read morehttps://youtu.be/2LsMS2vxzRU?is=U5MfItnpo97tUvuq Dirty Lettuce had me questioning whether I was really in Portland or somehow got transported back down South. I'll admit, I came into this place with a slight bias. I'm from the South, and maybe it's ignorant, but when I hear "soul food," I automatically think of the South. I grew up around soul food. I know what good collard greens taste like. I know what good mac & cheese tastes like. So when I heard people on TikTok raving about a vegan soul food restaurant in Portland, Oregon, part of me was thinking: "Soul food? In Portland? How good could it really be?" Well... Dirty Lettuce shut me up pretty quickly. I originally found this place while searching TikTok for vegan restaurants in Portland. Dirty Lettuce kept coming up, and people especially hyped up the fried chicken and BBQ ribs, so I had to see for myself. I ordered the fried chicken meal with collard greens and mac & cheese -- two sides I take VERY seriously. The fried chicken was incredible. The seasoning and batter reminded me of some kind of combination between KFC and Popeyes, while the inside stayed moist and tender. At certain points I genuinely forgot I was eating vegan chicken. It tasted and felt like I was eating a Southern fried chicken plate somewhere in Mississippi or Alabama. Then came the collard greens. Man... These greens tasted like somebody's grandma was in the kitchen cooking Thanksgiving dinner. They serve them in a bowl with plenty of pot liquor, so initially I thought they might be a little watery. Nope. That broth was PACKED with flavor. It was almost like a collard-green soup, and I mean that as a compliment. The greens and the broth complemented each other perfectly. And the mac & cheese? A1. Creamy, rich, flavorful, with this subtle smoky taste that I wasn't expecting. I don't know exactly what they did to it, but whatever they did -- KEEP DOING IT. I also tried the BBQ ribs. They were good, although they were probably my least favorite item compared with everything else. But that's almost unfair because the chicken, greens and mac & cheese set the bar ridiculously high. I also went into the ribs with huge expectations after hearing people hype them up on TikTok, and I'm not really a ribs guy to begin with. So take my opinion there with a grain of salt. They were still good. My one area for improvement would be customer service. The woman who took my order wasn't rude or anything, but I personally would have appreciated a warmer greeting and more inviting energy. I'm very big on customer service, and I think the person at the front counter sets the tone for the entire experience. Maybe she was just having an off day -- we all have them -- but that was really the only part of my visit that didn't match the quality and energy of the food. The restaurant itself is small, clean and has some really cool artwork on the walls. It has a nice atmosphere without trying to be anything overly fancy. But the FOOD is the story here. At one point during my meal, I remembered that Black people make up a relatively small percentage of Oregon's population, and I became convinced somebody from that percentage had to be back there in that kitchen cooking. Because there was no way these greens were tasting this close to something my grandma would have made on Thanksgiving. I came in skeptical. I left thoroughly impressed. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or eat meat every day of your life, I'd recommend trying Dirty Lettuce. And if you're from the South and you're skeptical about getting legitimate soul food in Portland like I was? Go ahead and try it. It legitimately reminded me of a Southern Sunday plate from somebody's mama's kitchen. Dirty Lettuce proved me wrong -- and I'm glad they did. Highly recommended.
