Finally decided to try out this taco truck. It's right next to the Costco in Redwood City. When I arrived it wasn't busy yet, so service was super quick and no lines! The salsa bar was good and they had a few tables and chairs laid out for people to eat. Everything looked clean. Tried the shrimp tacos and al pastor taco (see pictures). Loved loved loved the shrimp tacos. They overloaded the taco with onions and sauces. It did have a little zing, but was also so so delish. I would totally go back for this. The Al pastor was just okay though. The pineapple flavor was subtle, some of the meat was nice and crunchy, but most of it was a little too chewy for my liking. Also, the tacos are on the pricier side, almost $9 for 2 tacos!

We came back here for a take out almost a year later. They have maintained food quality. Portion size is small, so still a bit pricey food truck for the price range but they have expanded the selection of self serve condiments. We enjoyed that. We again ordered a veggie and carnitas burrito Food 5/5: everything tasted fresh. Decent size burrito, perfect for one meal. Service 5/5 : took us about 10 mins from order to take out. Pretty swift and to the point. Ambiance NA: they don't have chair, tables, so best for take out Parking is easy to find as it is in the Costco parking lot

These tacos were soooooo good. Went to grab gas and tacos during my lunch break and they were hitting!!! Tacos had so much meat on them and the pickled habanero jalapeños and pineapple salsa complimented them so well. Everything was so flavorful and juicy.. the guy at the register was super friendly too. Truck is right outside OSH - don't miss it!

Whoa. This is one of the best burritos ever I've had. The flour tortilla was grilled with charring so no shortcuts. Asparagus, green beans, grilled onions, whole pinto beans and rice with salsa and cheese. Spanking fresh. It was obvious it was gonna be insanely good just by the time they were taking to make it. Seemed to be a one man show. Though he forgot the sour cream, it was a home run. The price more than decent given the heft of the burrito. It's a trucker outside Costco in RC. There are some makeshift tables outside to eat, though the majority of folks take theirs to go. The guy was a bit surly but efficient and matter of fact. Definitely going back!

Incredible El Pastor taco and burrito here. Wonderful service and taco was compliments of the chef!

This was a decent truck. As such, there's not so much in the way of ambiance, but the service was efficient and quick. Even with a short line, they were slinging orders very efficiently. This review is for their nachos. It's a hefty portion and pretty heavily sauced with sour cream, pico de gallo, green salsa, and queso-style nacho cheese i.e. the liquid style and not shredded cheese. That last part is not for everyone, but I'm down on the right occasion. The meat was pretty good and overall it has a nice level of spice. I'd get this again.

I LOVE IT HERE!! I've been here twice during my lunch and they gave me my food quickly and it was really hot and fresh. I asked for my quesabirrias with everything and the salsa is so yummy and they are stuffed with meat!!! It also comes with a grilled jalapeño and tostada and the consome is the perfect amount for dipping and then drinking at the end. They have a salsa bar for your choosing as well! Super nice! Service is perfect , they're so considerate and silly too! I suggest bringing cash since they cover service costs and they're awesome! I'll come here as much as i can afford to lol so delicious! They have tables to eat at and a canopy which makes it perfect for food, great vibes and music playing. I love it here!

I happen to stumble upon this taco truck. It's in a really big plaza next to a Costco supermarket. Not sure if they move from time to time. Plenty of parking so you won't have and trouble. The service is great. The staff is very friendly and patient. They even have a chip reader so you can pay that way. Which should is the new standard in my opinion. The nachos is very good. Chips are crispy and the dipping sauce that is topped over the chips tastes delicious. Has the right amount of salt and not over bearing. I highly recommend.

Oh yeah! Gimme the birria! Came here after a colonoscopy - I was hungry and stoned - the tacos were soo good - couldn't wait - ate them in the car lol - but then I realized they had birria - I was full and inconsolable hahaha oh my goodness well I returned a week later becasue it's next to OSH so I bought my new wet/dry vac and then ran over to the truck and ordered BIRRIA! SO GOOD! So happy! Again, broke German rules and ate it in my German vehicle - ate every bite and washed it down with a Mexican Coke aaaah - and was so full I had to wait a few minutes before driving home - I just wanted to enjoy the full and happy feeling - try this truck - the food is tasty and the birria was delicious and the consommé with it was tasty and so good when tacos were dipped in it - hmmm - might go get some now...

    Chicken Taco with guac.

Great tacos! Had chicken and also steak. Each one was very full! Added guac as well. Service was very good!

Food - this place really hits it out of the park every time. I order the super nachos a lot and every time it's 5/5. Very generous meat portion, salsa is tasty but not too spicy and pricing is very fair. Service - the guys who operate the truck are super friendly and almost every time ask me if I want extra salsa. The service is also very fast. Ambiance - located in the parking lot of orchard supply next to Costco. Small taco truck, small sitting area.

Summary: Unexpectedly tasty parking lot truck tacos Details: Maybe I've been burned one too many times by food trucks, but I definitely didn't expect to be as wowed by one as I was by El Paisa, what with their super flavorful meats and all! That said, not all their options are standout, with the much-acclaimed al pastor actually falling short in flavor for me, and the chorizo a bit too dry and hard. That aside though, the flavor of the chorizo was actually quite nice, and their lengua is probably one of the best I've had ever, with them serving up an entire thick cut SLICE of tongue, rather than chopping it into smaller pieces, which lets you really get a mouthfeel for how tender they're able to make it. If you're opting for this (and you really should), get it in taco form, since you lose this quality when getting it inside their burritos. Accessibility: It's a food truck with some portable seating outside, so... the tables are semi-accessible, while the food truck itself is less so. That said, payment is around counter-height, and they've brought the food out to me before so that I don't have to reach up to an impossibly high window, so you're not out of options if you come solo!

Customers have the option to order inside if they want to enjoy a sit-down meal in a group-friendly dining area, or they can conveniently place a takeout order through the pickup window outside. Parking is somewhat limited, but it's manageable if you're willing to wait a moment for a space. For my first visit, I decided to keep it simple and ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito for pickup. I was told the order would take about 10 minutes from start to finish. To be safe, I arrived about five minutes later than the estimated pickup time in case they were busy. Unfortunately, after checking in, I still had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes before my food was finally ready. To the staff's credit, everyone was polite, courteous, and made sure customers were acknowledged. I never felt ignored, and they genuinely seemed to care about providing good customer service. The biggest issue was simply the wait time. When I arrived, there were only two people ahead of me waiting for pickup. By the time I finally received my order, there were nearly ten people lined up waiting for theirs. It was clear the kitchen was struggling to keep up with demand. Wanting to enjoy the burrito at its freshest, I started eating it immediately. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The chorizo tasted overcooked and almost burnt, while the eggs were extremely limited--almost nonexistent. Honestly, it felt more like a chorizo and rice burrito than a traditional breakfast burrito. The bright spot was the fresh salsa, which added much-needed flavor and helped make the burrito more enjoyable. A breakfast burrito is one of the simplest menu items to prepare, and I intentionally chose it as a way to get a feel for the restaurant before trying more of the menu. Between the extended wait and the disappointing quality of my first order, it wasn't the introduction I was hoping for. I understand this is a very popular location with many positive reviews, and plenty of people clearly enjoy eating here. However, you only get one chance to make a first impression, and mine was disappointing. If I'm craving Mexican food and don't have many other options, I may give Tacos El Grullense #1 another opportunity in the future. But after this experience, there's no guarantee I'll be back anytime soon.

This unassuming Mexican restaurant is elevating flavors and using the freshest produce in the best way possible. I ordered the ceviche trio and was delighted with the presentation large fresh prawns with avocado, ( I think ) Serrano chile salsa with cucumber chunks and purée, cilantro and tomato may have been my favorite. I also loved the Dorado- tropical mango forward mahi mahi with habanero chiles, red onion, ripe tomato pico and tajin seasoning. The traditional Pescado with rockfish and a limey tomato taste with lots of cilantro accents was also delicious. I kept loading the large, thick chips with the three different masterful concoctions, shocked by the way the fruit and vegetable aromas shone and the fish smelled of ... not fish... just freshness and maybe a hint of sea salt. I sat near the bar and watched delicious cocktails being made with fruit purées and so many different kinds and brands of tequila, mezcal, rum and vodka. I definitely need to bookmark this place for a girl's night. I ate my fill and tonight, I shall perform my greatest culinary trick/hack. I will stop by Whole Foods- purchase whatever fish looks freshest, a couple of limes, and avocado and a mango and turn my leftovers into dinner without turning on the oven.
