At this particular location I ordered shredded beef, mixed rice and boiled yuca with iced tea and it was ~$14 & change + tip and tax. I ordered the EXACT same platter at the SW 8th st location and paid $6.95. Also prices at this location are not posted conspicuously as well as other locations. A customer doesn't know where the line begins and there are no numbered tickets. A customer knows where the line ends though..the cash register. The food is still worth it. The service is quick enough to compensate for the mob, and if you happen to be fluent in Spanish it goes even faster. I have never seen a person take such care in crafting a Cuban sandwich - he gently placed the ingredients on the bread as though he was holding his newborn for the first time. On to La plancha in two parts first, then stacked - a two-step process in a very busy restaurant...impressive artisanal treatment. Can't say it's unequivocally the best ever, but it won't let you down. Our group got into a sort of frenzy - people just got up and came back to the table with one drool-inducing nosh after another. I've never seen such a spectacle of food since Picadilly over at Westland. Upon opening the doors you still the mass of people ordering, eating, and gawking over the amounts of food being displayed in their cafeteria style food displays. But I came here for one thing. And it was the Pan con Lechon. It did not disappoint me at all. It was a different type of monster. It was juicy, saucy, and filled with crunchy onions. It was heaven. It kinda reminded me of a ropa vieja or a bbq chopped pork sandwich. But it was good. The wait was a little longer than I'm accustomed to but we're in Florida. I should have expected it. It's not NY speed anymore. Floridians move at their own pace. I'm glad I braved the traffic and got myself a nice treat. All you out of towners looking for a good bite to eat. Customers just stand in front of the food displays and hope that everyone goes in order (it doesn't always happens) . People skip in front of others that have been waiting there longer. They should have a numbering system like Publix for customers to be called out or a way so that customers can form an organized line. Twice last month I walked out when I saw it was too busy. Tried this place for the first time yesterday. I was expecting it to be OK at best, but actually it was really flavorful, a LOT of food, and a decent price (but could be cheaper). I got the combo with a churrasco and it came out to about $18. I feel it should've been about $16 since you can get a churrasco at a real restaurant for $18, but that's just my opinion. They put so much rice I'm sure I'll have food for 2 meals. The churrasco was also a good size. The combo brings white rice (+$1 for Moro), and one side. The queso frito was a good size, and it was really good. It was a bit too chewy, but still cooked great. The food was very warm too. I will definitely be back. They had a wide variety (meat, pork, chicken, seafood) so it's good for families. read more

It was so so. They had ample parking which is a plus. And an unbelievable selection of delicious smelling food!! Two long buffer lines of hot food to select from. Also a counter to purchase batidas, café and sandwiches. The lines are a little disorganized so you really have to assert yourself in a line. My largest complaint was that the medianoche I ordered was cold in the middle so I took it back. After they heated it again, it was still cold!! PALACIO OF RECYCLED FOOD is what this should be called. Horrible customer service, bland and not so fresh food, charge you for items you did not buy. The only reason I think I got offered helped after standing there for awhile was because I decided to check out their little area of produce and then went back to stand around, ( I was waiting for my husband and child to get out of the restroom to order lunch)when i noticed one of the cafeteria managers watching me like a hawk because I guess he thought i was going to run out and steal an avocado. Yes an AVOCADO! He started signaling that I needed to come and pay at the other area, which I knew but was not ready to cash out. Watch out for what you pay for because they like to overcharge or charge you double for items. The receipt they give you where you pay for the produce and other little grocery items does not detail the items you bought just a total, so good luck disputing overcharges because the first thing they will ask you for is the receipt and to show where the overcharge was. Mind you they know how the receipt is printed. And the last thing, this is a Latino business but stereotype and go out of their way to condescend other Latinos. In today's climate stereotyping, discriminating and offering bad service to their non Cuban customers is not a way to go for any business. Edit to add: I got fried bananas that were old,they had a horrible taste and had to throw them out. I also found 2 pieces of medium size greasy fatty pork in my Congris rice. It is supposed to be a regular rice and bean plate, please make sure you check your food plates because if you dont eat/allergic to a certain meat or food it could be mixed in with another. This is one of the most interesting restaurants I have been to. First off, they have about every latin dish you could ask for. They give you a ton of food with your order and it was pretty tasty. Like many people here have commented, the restaurant is broken down into several stations where you must pick your food from, and it is a little hectic as well. Best cooks for pork, Moros and yuca. Best ropa vieja. The pork sandwich is the best in Miami. Best pan con lechon in Miami. No one else comes close. I eat for two days on a one dinner. (Big servings) Then there is the juices. I take half gallons of orange juice with beets and carrots. Coconut juice and water and Mamey juice. Gotten to know servers thru the last 12 months and staff is very friendly. They give out very large portions of food and for the price, it's really a good deal. Very authentic (according to the locals) and definitely a stop to make when in Hialeah. They made a special chicken sandwich for us that wasn't on the menu. Mango juice, guanabana juice and chocolate milk shake= all delicious! I ordered two drinks here, the maracuya and guanabana. The maracuya was a little too sweet for my liking but the guanabana was the BOMB DOT COM. I am a tad biased because guanabana is my favorite fruit but seriously this juice tasted like it was made with milk and it wasnt. It was straight juice. Meh! I went here with high expectations, as it was hyped up for me. It was just a big, drawn out food court with unlimited food choices. It is pretty cheap though, and the portions are huge. You can literally buy two combo "completas" and have enough to feed an entire family of 4-5. We ordered the seafood paella, which was lackluster in flavor and seafood. We also got the chicken milanese, which was average. I also bought a chicken soup, and found several chicken bones, as opposed to actual chicken. My hubby wanted the pan con lechon, and that too was just average in taste. Nothing amazing, not enough crunch. I honestly would just come back for their great tasting, natural juices. Being Hispanic I judge Hispanic restaurants very harshly. I don't know if it's because I hold them to a higher standard or if it's because I am so used to my mother's authentic Cuban cuisines. Either way El Palacio De Los Jugos, or for my non Spanish speaking friends, "The castle of the juices" LOL is just about as authentic as it gets. They have anything and everything prepared in authentic fashion in mass quantities. From Arroz con Pollo, to Congri with Ropa Vieja and Yuca or Camarones en Enchilada they have everything. The food is made fresh daily and served in a food by pound type fashion. The food has the authentic Caribbean flavor with lots of herbs and species. They also have 100% natural juices and shakes made from Caribbean fruits, such as Mango, Mamey, Papaya, Guanabana, Tamarindo, Etc. They also make traditional sandwiches on a press like Croquetta Preparada and Pan con Bistec. The service is excellent and the staff always give you large portions, can a guy like myself 6'1 250lbs eat it all yes, but two can have 1 of there meals "completa" The one thing I can't understand , well I guess I can understand the logic behind it but don't agree with the concept is the way you order and pay. Each station (and there many) have there own order station and cashier, which can cause long lines and organized chaos at times. However, the food is well worth the confusion at times. I am a big fan of the El Palacio de los Jugos restaurants. This one just recently opened in hialeah and I was happy to finally visit this past weekend. Very busy for a saturday afternoon, no formal lines, pretty chaotic, separate lines for pretty much anything. I ordered a fried fish sandwich (minuta) and a mango juice, $6 for both. If you want good cuban food at a good price, this is the place for you. don't expect waiter service but they have plenty of tables to sit down and enjoy your meal. If you visit during the weekend, (their is a bonus!) sit outside and enjoy the music from the Gus Machado dealership across the street. read more

I give this place a 3.7 not a 3. Went here not too long ago with my mom to get some fresh squeezed juice. They have the best, freshest, yummiest juice! The watermelon sells out pretty fast so get it when you can. The pineapple is my favorite. The agua de coco (coconut water) is good but I think they put lime juice or something in it, which is not what I prefer. I like plain unaltered coconut water and if you do too, you may not care too much for their coconut water, but it's still pretty good. I recently got their Pan con Bistec and HOLY CRAP was it the best one I've ever had! The steak had what seemed like a citrus marinade on it so it was flavorful and juicy. It was also very tender. I mean how many times have you ordered a pan con bistec from Latin American Grill, Casavana, Little Havana etc.... and compare it to eating shoe leather between 2 pieces of bread? A LOT I'm sure. It can be so hard to find a nice tender pan con bistec that isn't bland or chewy. El Palacio de los Jugos gives you a great piece of meat that doesn't require an iron jaw to chew through. I saw the man making it put a sauce that I thought was mayo on it (eww) but it was actually a delicious creamy mojo sauce. It was just the most perfect, mouth watering, I know I'm full but I want to eat more pan con bistec ever. Did I mention it only cost about $5! My only gripe with this place is their parking situation. Parking there is just horrible. There is a small lot in front that only has about 9 or 10 spots, there's a slightly larger lot in the back, but it's still too small for the volume of people that go in there. It's cafeteria style with food behind windows and they offer a lot of different foods. Looking at the amount of food offered, the size of the building and the amount of people coming in, the parking lot just isn't sufficient enough to accommodate everyone. Not giving a full 4 stars because of the parking and the fact I haven't tried a lot of their food yet, but my experience so far has been pretty good. My mom ordered Arroz Imperial from here for a Welcome Home Party we had last night. The Imperial rice was a largely sized family tray and the deal you get price-wise, makes it appealing as somewhere to buy food for a large group. This Arroz Imperial had chicken, cheese, and yellow rice. They also included slices of Ham (which I wasn't that crazy about since I particularly don't eat ham), but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. My only complaint about the Imperial Rice was how salted the chicken was, it was too salty. For this reason they get 4 stars, instead of 5. Also, the mariquitas were delicious, but the mojo sauce was pure garlic, not that I mind, but my husband wasn't crazy about it. All in all, the food was good. The large Imperial Rice tray was enough for over 10 hungry people, so that's pretty awesome. In the end, El Palacio de Los Jugos continues to provide good cuban food! We will be back! read more
