You are better off going to the Taco Bell next door. For the quality of food and the price we paid, we would have been better off at Taco Bell. The service was great. Waitress was on spot with refills and everything we asked. Now, for the food...The salsa was way to hot to eat. Tried salting it to bring down the heat but still inedible. No cilantro at all in the salsa. The food tasted like they went to the local grocery store and bought a bunch of chili powder and cumin and just unloaded on the food. My tacos tasted like the taco powder you buy at a grocery store, they were ok, the Spanish rice and refried beans could not be eaten due to the over abundance of the above-mentioned spices. We had a party of 8. 4 of our orders were wrong and we didn't order anything special. The food was subpar too. The refried beans tasted like they were straight out of a can. The "cheese" on our nachos was either velveeta or pumped. The waitress was nice enough and obviously felt bad about the mistakes. Still, won't be planning on a return visit. read more

I have never wrote a Yelp review, but this place is so awful that I'm taking time out of my day to warn others. I would give this zero stars if it were possible. I will say that our waiter was a nice, friendly guy. The hostess was unfriendly The "cheese" dip tasted like watered down velveeta. {ya know, the unrefrigerated box of "cheese" that never expires.} I ordered the combo #5 [enchiladas] I asked for cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. My husband ordered beef fajitas. When the food came it looked pretty good! I was thinking we may have found a new favorite mexican restaurant. WRONG. My husband gave me a piece of his fajita meat and after chewing I had to spit it out. It tasted like, and had the texture of, hamburger meat. WHAAAT? It wasn't even real fajita meat. Still unsure what it was. The rice was dry and was probably from a pre-seasoned packet you can find at any store. The guacamole was runny like they were trying to stretch the avocado as far as possible to save money. My cheese enchiladas were literally a bunch of cheese stuffed into a tortilla and covered with a bunch more cheese. no sauce of any kind. So stringy that I could lift my fork two feet above my plate and the cheese was still connected to the enchilada, which probably isn't a bad thing if you love cheese with zero mexican flavor. The beans were the best thing on the plate and that's not saying much. Then the check came. I was charged for my rice and beans separately, even though the #5 says 'combo': I assumed it would be a combination of food-not two cheese enchiladas for 5.99. The total bill for one cheese dip, two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, beef fajitas, and a tea and 2 happy hour beers (1$ per beer), was $30. We were shocked at how awful the food was and how expensive our bill was. My husband and I vowed to never eat there again and to write a review to save others from this terrible, over priced 'Mexican' food. Overall, I feel like they were cutting every corner possible with food quality. Do yourself a favor and go to La Leyenda or even La Bamba. Absolutely the worst Tex Mex (or whatever it is the owner thinks this food is) that I've ever tried. The service was fine -- no issues there. The food was deserving of an episode on Restaurant Impossible. I ordered chicken fajitas and was shocked when it was apparent that they used canned chicken. Yes, I said canned chicken. As for the standard plate of accessories that accompany fajitas, again, just wow! The beans looked like reconstituted paste with a gray ring around them where they had dried out. Service was good, but it all comes down to how good the food is. Sadly, this is the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had. Does not really even qualify as Mexican. More like "hey, I'm going to describe mexican food to you and you write down half the stuff I say and cook it up the way you think mexican food should be". Have good service sometimes the chips are old and the food to salty but usually nice people

This place is never really good. I just go for the chips and cheese dip and today saw someone leaving with a to go box after paying for their meal with their small dog in their arms. They let dogs in the restaurant apparently. But food is usually gross and the people that work there barely have walking sense . Couldn't even get a refill on a drink today. Probably the most unreal experiences of my life. The whole experience seemed like a joke, and I kept waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop out with the crew of Punk'd. The food wasn't mexican what so ever, the burrito tasted like the seasonless frozen fajita meat you buy at a store wrapped in a tortilla with shredded cheese on top. I went on my first date there 30 years ago ,I had been going with family to eat there before that when I was pregnant it was still my favorite place my son is now 26 and I have a grandson thats 6 we have now moved to north Alabama ain the Talladega area in a little town called Lineville we still go there several times a year just to eat when we go on vacations we go out if our way to go thru Ozark where we can eat there my daddy is now 80 years old and he was a preacher so he traveled everywhere but you can ask him and mommy where you want to go eat at he says I need some El palacio steak fingers.... and thats the truth we have gotten up on a Sunday morning more than one time and drove 3 hours to eat and then back home I dont have family that lives there we just go to eat Wanda Walden Armstrong read more
