This was a small eat-in or carry out Mexican spot that gave off a vibe like the fresh Mexican joints you'd find out on the west coast. I ordered a carry out burrito dinner and it took less than 10 minutes to get done. While the portion was not very large (as you often see with carry out places), it was very fresh and the taste was excellent. The meal was about $15, which strikes me as a little expensive, but in this day and age, it's probably about the norm, so I won't rant about what prices used to be. We ordered chips and salsa (ok, no free on the table - it's ok because the salsa is good, not too spicy and taste fresh), steak burrito (nothing special and tastes good) and whole fried tilapia (it was cooked perfectly... it has salad and slices oranges on the side. the best one). Good option in South Haven that was exactly what we needed. A kind of hidden gem that's not directly downtown, and the food was good. As a family, we got tacos, beans, tamales and chips and salsa. They were all good, with the tamale being a highlight for me. The hot sauces they give for the table were oddly flavorless and not hot, but still nice to try them out. I felt like the people working here were friendly, and the vibes are good even though it's more of a "substance over style" kind of restaurant. I loved South Haven, but didn't see too many restaurants I wanted to eat at, but this one really hit the spot after a beach day. I'd go here again without hesitation next time I'm in town. read more

After seeing many raving reviews on social media for this place in our city we tried it. It was quite possibly the worst Mexican food we've ever had. The portions were small, the prices were high and no chips or salsa unless you buy. I ordered the quesadilla meal (14.00) with one chicken & one shrimp. It was not a quesadilla it was 2 flour tortilla tacos. The shrimp was cut into chunks and was MAYBE 2 normal shrimp. The chicken was sparse also. They were both very bland with little lettuce or sour cream My husband had chicken fajitas (14.75). The chicken was orange, there were strips of red bell pepper, the same of green and very little onions. It was clean, there were no servers you ordered at the counter. Amazing food. Very modest building, with walk up and drive through service. We had a party of 4 and we each had a different dish. My wife had a beef enchilada, while I had their steak tacos. My SIL had their chicken tacos and my daughter the pork tacos. We each raved about what we had. Service was friendly and you can dine in. The most unpretentious places sometimes have the best and most authentic food. This is a great example of that rule. read more

Wanted to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint!! A small place with booths, clean and well maintained and organized. Walk in and take a menu and grab a booth and decide what you want and walk up to the counter and order your food and pay and they do the rest. Food delivered to your table with silverware and napkins, ask and they will bring you hot and mild green salsa in a squirt bottle. Ordered guacamole and freshly made flour chips, it was fresh and darn tasty and a generous portion at that! Hub ordered pork Tacos and I ordered beef Tacos, they came with beans and rice. We both opted the Tacos with onions and cilantro, all very good, hot, made to order, we were very pleased and will definitely come back. Our bill was the going rate these days for good food. This is a bright spot in the community. Truly authentic Mexican food but different from the more Americanized Mexican restaurants. It is very bilingual friendly with both English and Spanish spoken . Take the quesadilla pictured here. It was more taco like than the flat quesadilla with cheese , meat and veggies between two tortillas. We opted for steak and it was flavorful and tender. The beans and rice were both delish!. I had the enchiladas -they were yummy. Lightly sauced and full of shredded chicken. The salad topping was more than just lettuce and tomato-it included carrot chucks. Try the tamales! Served piping hot with a shredded pork filling. They will bring bottles of salsa -red and green- The green is mild but the red was too hot for our tastes. Try it but use sparingly. read more

They were out of a lot of items I would have liked to try. We took the parents here and it was really really expensive for what we got. I ordered a pork tamale that was clearly microwaved because the filling was really hard and stuck to the wrapping. I also got a Gordita with chorizo. It had no seasoning and an odd taste in my mouth when I was done. The crema or cheese on it seemed old and runny? The green and red salsas in the fridge were pretty bland The pico de Gallo and chips were fine. The pico actually tasted ok. My husband got a burrito that was $12 and really tiny. The pork was extremely dry in there too. The dad got a chicken dish that was kind of like kids chicken tenders that was also really dry and seemed old. There wasn't much in the way of service and the mom liked her quesadilla but we spent over $70 and I was extremely disappointed. I do like that they have Cokes in the bottle. read more

You Walk up counter to order, yes, it was very warm inside but we seated ourselves and the waitress will bring you your food. We ordered chicken quesadillas, which were very yummy! I got cocktail Cameron and my hubby, steak fajitas. The Cameron cocktail was very good, not as sweet and I liked that, my husband loved the marinated meat. Not bad service, just no service. At least real plates for dine in. There's a reason why no outside pictures or inside pictures. We should have just moved n when we drove in but sometimes these diamonds in the rough can be quite surprising. This, unfortunately, was not. Carry out might be your best bet. read more
