Unfortunately, shortly after our event began, the splash pad stopped working and remained off for the duration of our rental. This was the main activity for approximately 20 children in attendance. While a park ranger attempted to assist, there was ultimately no resolution. What was especially disappointing was the lack of urgency and care from park staff. There was no real apology or effort to make the situation right. We had to go through hoops just to get someone on the phone, which was frustrating in the middle of hosting a children's party. If pavilions are being rented out for private events, you would expect someone to be readily available to assist renters when issues arise. Additionally, we were told at booking that Pavilion B was already reserved and that inflatables were only permitted in that space. However, Pavilion B remained empty the entire time. Had we known, we would have booked that pavilion or adjusted our plans to include a bounce house to make up for the loss of the splash pad. While the park grounds are well maintained, the lack of communication, unavailable amenity, and absence of real-time support made what should have been a joyful day unnecessarily stressful. I hope improvements are made so other families do not have a similar experience.

You'll start with signs leading ways to different direction. The garden itself is on a path so it's easy to manage. There's different area that's guided. Just following the path we ended up at the butterfly garden with a cute little butterfly chair. Depending on which path and direction you head to, there's other gardens. With plants everywhere, they have signs identifying what they are. We thought there would be some kind of water garden but no luck. There was a small waterfall feature but it was shut off. A section was catered to Rare fruit orchard with a good variety of trees and shrubs. Different type of guava, avocado, figs and so on. Some that were new to me. Throughout the garden, there's loads of benches placed throughout the area. All at different spot while some have amazing views of the city. Once you reach the top area, there's bench with an amazing view and it's also the cactus garden area. If you go through that area you'll end at the tranquility garden with a small red bridge and loads of rock sculptures. A cute small part of the garden. The paths all leads back to each other. The garden area isn't that big but the way the layout with the paths are, it does seem like it while walking. As we were walking out, we notice another path which leads to a trail. That trail goes along the creek that run along the side. It's not a long hike, pretty easy as it's all trail. There's a bridge that crosses over the creek which I'm not sure where it leads to. We followed the trail which does come out from the shady creek area to an open area. Views of the city along the way. It's basically goes around the whole garden area and connects back to the main entrance. Overall, it's a decent hike. The garden, I expected more. I thought there would have been a lake or some kind of pond. It's wasn't much of botanic garden but more of a community garden. Positive note, it's free to get in.

Other things my son (and I!) love about camp--there's a super great variety of activities each day including water slides and other fun adventures. Kids are grouped very thoughtfully by age/grade level into groups so there's not a big range of ages. It feels very safe and secure to me as a parent but kids also get a chance to meet other kids who are similar in terms of age. We always run into Coach Russell camp campers around town after the summer is over! On a more practical note, Coach Russell is also extremely responsive to email, extremely organized and great at communication! If you're looking for a day camp opportunity in the Conejo Valley Kids in Motion is just the best!

We went during free swim time from 12-4pm and it was only $10 for ages 3 and up. There's a big shallow kiddie pool with water activities and then 2 water slides on the back side of the park. There's a rec pool that maybe goes to 4.5 ft depth so it's perfect for just enjoying the water when you can't lap swim because the pool is crowded. A large picnic table area can be found in the middle of the center too so you can being lunch and snacks too. There a larger Olympic size pool on the west end of the center that can be used for lap swimming so overall it's great for all ages and swimming levels. We're planning to be here quite a bit for the summer! There's also cabanas to change into and showers to rinse off before and after swimming.

The pools & facilities are clean and in great condition. Water temperature is about 78 degrees and they have multiple pools to accommodate lap swimming, classes, and a kid's pool. The restrooms are pretty clean, contain 3 private shower stalls, multiple open showers, and a machine to wring out your bathing suit which is a plus. I hope to be back next summe

This man has no conscience, no ethical compass, and does business dirty to make a profit. He is unhinged, condescending, and worships money over service, professionalism, and honesty. My child is autistic and is a Regional Center client. Lucile Cowle, also under Daland Swim School, said that they would create an account with a 3rd party payer so that they could be directly paid by the 3rd party vendor with the Lanterman Regional Center. I started communicating with Lucile Cowle Swim School on March 5, 2025. It is now July 2026 (16 months later), and I have finally been reimbursed after countless calls and emails. The only way that I was paid for adaptive swim lessons was to bypass LC completely, and Aveanna 3rd-party payers conducted a full investigation to unpack their numerous lies. Dealing with this unethical company was so traumatic and all-consuming. Aveanna had to create an internal memo to no longer deal with this company because they would often refuse to respond, say they already did without turning in the necessary paperwork, and they never responded to the Lanterman Regional Center. My Lanterman Regional Center worker constantly reached out to LC/Daland Swim School, and their statements about when they responded do not align with any of the paper trail. They have made it difficult at every turn. Read my reviews. I never posted a single negative review of a business before today. I have never posted a negative review even when the service or good wasn't great because I don't want to damage a business for having an off day. However, this took 16 months of my time, and the executive director, Tarrik Daou was so nasty, condescending, and more fearful of not covering his bases when too many outside parties (not me) came with financial questions than actually providing honest, reputable service or transparent, ethical accounting. I have a long paper trail that can back up every claim I have been as opposed to Lucile Cowle, who can't keep records or even finish setting up a business account for 8 months. This is step 1 of any financial accounting. I just can't in any good conscience recommend this awful institution or Tarrik's narcissistic personality as someone you want to deal with. Please. There are other reputable swim schools who won't lie to you. I don't call people liars easily; in fact, I literally never have before in any business review. I had to come up with a long paper trail and unravel his lies because he's such an expert gaslighter; you want to double and triple-check facts to make sure the accounting is done correctly. Please take your business elsewhere. There are swim schools that actually care about your kids, not just the money that comes with it. If your child has any special needs, please stay away. Being a special-needs parent who must advocate for your child's special needs is hard; why add to your load by constantly having to unravel one vendor's outright lies? Your time is precious, and your child can become an agile swimmer at a swim school that loves children and not just sees an opportunity to financially exploit you.

The hike provides the opportunity to see wildlife- coyotes, owls, hawks, frogs and more. Plus beautiful sunsets over the reservoir in the distance. During the summertime, this trail can get quite hot as most of the trail is not shaded. Bring plenty of water during these times. Also there are no bathrooms at this park. Be prepared for this! First of all, it is set in the most beautiful of neighborhoods - the kind of neighborhood that looks like a studio backlot, it is picture perfect. Secondly, the park is great - tons of lush green field for kids (or dogs) to run around in, BBQs, covered picnic tables, the scenic backdrop of an equestrian trail behind the park, and two playgrounds that are super close in proximity (a "big kids" one and a "toddler" one.) As of current writing (11-28-2020) the big kids playground does have 2 broken (and boarded up) slides - however the main attraction - the giant swirly slide is still in fine working order. There is tons to climb, tons to swing on (two sets of swings - 4 for bigger kids and 2 for babies/toddlers), and tons of space to run around in. So why four stars and not the perfect five? Well, as the mom of a toddler I automatically reserve five star reviews for parks and playgrounds that have everything - and the one thing that seems to be missing here (I haven't found any) are restrooms - other than that this park would be perfect.

Of course, not everyone there is rude or a jerk but from my weekly attendance, a period of 8 weeks observation, it sure is the majority. I'm all for competitiveness and a hunger to win, but mind your manors. The pickle ball culture is out of control. The courts open at 7am and it's packed until 11am. Then if you get off work to practice, around 3pm to closing it's packed. Good luck getting any time on these courts. On top of that, the courts are open during the time you work and if you take the time off to go, you're out at the hottest part of the day. No thanks! CRPD - please build more courts. Please have pickle ball ambassadors to monitor language and sportsmanship, allow beginners to get play time, and thanks for keeping the bathrooms clean!
