Visited with the kiddo on a Saturday a little after lunch time and the restaurant didn't look very busy and we were seated right away. The inside is interesting with a lot of rustic touches with Christmas lights and brick flooring. We received chips and salsa right after we sat down, and they ended up being the of the show. The chips were thick and coated with a yummy seasoning and the salsa had a great flavor with just the right amount of spice. We ordered a cup of queso which was pretty disappointing. It was flavorless and there was a huge chunk of bell pepper in the bottom of the cup. Weird. I ordered the chicken flautas which came with rice and beans. Everything was tasty, but I wasn't a big fan of the beans. They weren't really refried, and most of the beans were left whole. The kiddos ordered the bean & cheese nachos, a full order, and he finished the whole plate, so I'm assuming he enjoyed his meal! The margaritas were ok, but I've found stronger & cheaper ones closer to home. Our server was great! I wish I remembered his name. So what mexican restaurant does not sell Burritos? We have lived here in Azle for years and never have had a problem. My hubby is not into Mexican food, but years ago, a waitress from El Paseo suggested that he order a beef burrito smothered with queso. He loved it and so when he would take me there for Mexican he could order something besides a hamburger. Tonight we were told they no longer had burritos and they would not customise or substitute from the menu anymore. We immediately got up and walked out and went to Villa Del Sol on Hwy 199. We won't go back to El Paseos unless some changes are made. read more

I should've known when we walked into the place and it smelled vaguely of sewage, we should've left. Service was super slow, the hot sauce and chips were meh. Ordered the spinach enchiladas and the cheese enchiladas and added guacamole to both. They finally came out and looked pretty good, but were so tough, we really needed knives. I ended up getting up to refill my water glass since our waiter disappeared. When he finally showed up, I told him we'd pay for the guacamole but we wanted the dinners taken off. He went off and when he came back, the manager told him to tell us just to pay for the guacamole. It would've been a nice gesture to comp the whole miserable mess. We put $5 down and left. Review are about being honest. Sometimes brutally honest. So having typed that I am going to say this place is not my cup of hot sauce. First of all, why are there so many doors to get into this place? My husband and I were in separate vehicles and it literally took us a minute to find each other as we had parked and gone in different doors. The very best part of this dining experience was Erin who was on top of it and waiting on about 8 tables during lunch on a weekday. I hate when chips come with something sprinkled on them. Just don't. I spent most of my time picking through the chips to find the ones missed by the shaker. There were three in our party and we ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered the fajitas, hubs ordered beef enchiladas and third person ordered soft beef tacos. The fajitas taste like they are marinaded in margarita mix as they are sweet tasting. And you have to ask for cheese, sour cream, guac and pico as it does not come with any of it. My husband said the plate his enchiladas were on was steaming hot but the enchiladas were cold inside. We brought my in laws here for some good Mexican food in Azle and this place did.L not disappoint. The chicken tortilla soup was pure comfort food for me. It had really good flavor and the avocado slices compliments the soup very well. The shrimp salad was good but not very filling for a dinner option. Would be an excellent lunch choice for those who like shrimp. The chimichanga dinner was delicious. My husband had the mixed chicken and beef option and he thought it was flavorful and very filling. Finally the fajita taco salad was good for what it was. Overall, the service was great and the food was served hot and fresh. Also, let me not forget to shout out their chips and salsa. They have these seasoned chips that are full of flavor without the added spice and I loved that we each had our individual sauce for dipping! Definitely will be back! read more

As EL PASEO seems to be an Azle staple I have to say that I was very disappointed. The service was horrible, the chips were stale and their Margaritas tasted watered down. When I asked about the way certain foods were made (I have dietary restrictions) and also about substitutions so I could enjoy a meal with friends my questions either went unanswered or I was told NO!! I even offered to pay any extra fees and they didn't care! It was as if all they wanted was to get us in and then out as quickly as possible!! Very disappointing on so many levels I for one will go elsewhere when choosing to spend my money and time going out. NOT worth the money!!!!!!!! read more

I ordered the chicken fajitas for one. It was pretty good, not a lot of onions and peppers and the chicken could have been a little more tender. The portion was enough to share, with an extra side of beans and plenty of tortillas. Speaking of, the flour tortillas were beautiful and soft. I didn't eat any but I have this feeling that they were fabulous. Our waiter, the patriarch of service there was very friendly. The hostess that sat us to our table was not so pleasant when we asked not to sit so close to the kitchen, to which she replied, "It's fine." Though she seemed put out, she accommodated us. Recently moved to Azle and this was on my list of local restaurants to try out. We used to go to Los Molcajetes as it was close to our old house. This place has pretty good chips, queso, and salsa. I've heard they have pretty good drinks as well, but haven't gotten to try those yet. I had the Botana platter so I could sample a little bit of everything and it was all very good tex-mex style food. They gave us so many chips too, which made me feel like I had the opportunity to eat as many chips as possible (just like at a restaurant). We ended up saving the extra chips to snack on during the week. Looking forward to trying the fajitas and other menu options in the future. My family & I have been customers of El Paseos since 1995, & never in our time eating there have we been treated like we were tonight! Tonight when the food was brought to our table, there was an order that was made wrong. My mom had to send her order back because they put chili instead of queso on her enchiladas. She kindly told the waiter that she can't have the chili, and that she wasn't 100% positive if she had forgotten to order the queso or not, either way it had to be taken back. Well...when it was brought to the table, the manager/owner proceeded in the most condescending tone and passive aggressive attitude to tell my mom how to order her meal next time!!!! She proceeded to tell us the company policy of what happens when food is brought back and how the wait staff has to pay for it. (Which that is NONE of our business!) She literally was extremely rude!!! When we told her she was being rude she told us it was a matter of opinion because she was not rude. She literally told us that just because we're the customer does not mean we are always right!!!!! She was beyond fucking rude, and we will never go back because of this bitch. read more

Ate there with friends as we were all visiting Azle from other parts of DFW for an event. Service very good and liked the ambiance. Food was a mixed bag. I had Pollo Asado, and it was a nice portion, but the chicken was so dry that I had difficulty cutting it, much less chewing it. Our companion who was paying asked if I wanted to tell the waitperson, but I was no longer terribly hungry so said I'd just take it home to my dogs. LOL.
