Great Mexican restaurant! The best we've been in for a long time. We were greeted and offered a booth right away and had salsa and chips on our table within a few minutes. The food was great! I had the chicken soft tacos and it was stuffed with chicken lettuce and topped with cheese. My husband had the pulled pork street tacos. The best he had ever had in Fort Worth! The atmosphere is fun and the staff is friendly and attentive. We will be back. read more

I went back and forth between a 3 and 4 after dining her for the first time. I landed on a 3, but if half stars were available, I would say they are a solid 3.5. Dined in on a Sunday afternoon and they were not busy at all. Weird smell outside of the restaurant, like garbage or something? Not sure, but it wasn't pleasant. Inside was better but didn't smell particularly good either. Maybe mix of musty and cleaning supplies? Not sure. It wasn't bad, but did give me pause when entering. It was also humid and almost looked cloudy inside. I don't know how to explain it really. We were seated right away by the friendly hostess and she took our drink order as well as out appetizer order - small cup of queso ($5.50). Drinks and queso came quickly and the salsa was served in this cute little bottle that you pour yourself. The queso tasted like basic processed cheese, but had a good flavor. The salsa was delish! It was served cold and also had a good flavor with a slight kick on heat on the back end. I would purchase a bottle for home if available. The kiddo ordered the 2 beef & bean burrito plate which came with 2 small burritos, similar to enchiladas it looked like with rice and beans ($13.50) and I had the Arroz Con Pollo which is rice topped with fajita chicken, grilled onion & bell peppers, covered in queso with a side of beans ($14.00). The ground beef in the burritos was seasoned very well and the kid enjoyed his meal. The fajita chicken on my plate was pretty flavorless and kind of dry. The onions could have definitely been grilled longer I only saw 2 small pieces of bell pepper. The queso piled on top kind of hides these issues. It was good when ate all together and I added some salsa. Both plates held a lot of food and I'll get at least 3 more meals out of mine. We would probably return because I would like to try something else off of the menu. One thing holding me back would be the prices. The price for the quality just doesn't match up. I also found many items here that are significantly cheaper at my go-to Mexican food restaurant. And considering beans and rice here aren't included with every dinner/combo plate, that's a big deterrent. read more

Arizola's is my current favorite Tex-Mex place. They have the best cheese enchiladas with ranchero sauce, and their rice is way better than most Tex-Mex rice. We have always received quick, friendly service. read more

So I totally forgot to post this review from back in the beginning of August Lol! My Uncle called me up and said Hey let's go get some Mexican food I'm buying and I said I've been dieting so alright let's go! Well we wanted somewhere close but somewhere different so we were looking online at menus and saw Arizola's, and I thought to myself wow i've driven by that place a million times and never even thought about stopping there to check it out. Well now I know that was a mistake cause it definitely didn't disappoint, I ordered the Carne Guisada plate and it was mildly spicy, tender and delicious plus the beans & rice were on point as well. I honestly had low expectations going in having no previous knowledge of the place and by it's appearance but it certainly greatly exceeded them and my uncle and I will both be back! Atmosphere is very loud, sound echoes everywhere, but the food is delicious. I had the chili Riano. I asked for one with beef, and they made the Riano. I've been dumped fajita meat on top with cheese, onions and sauce. It was very strange, but it was tasty. The beef was very well done great flavor, the sauce was interesting. I had never had one like that, and the real it was delicious but small. There was a ton of beans and cheese and rice. I don't normally like rice, but this was actually pretty tasty. This place is very much Texmex.... The one thing I would caution you on is do not eat the chips. I do not think they are very fresh. They tasted kind of like the oil is gone off. read more

In our relentless pursuit of quality Mexican food near our new home we popped in on a Saturday. We were sat near the front of the restaurant in what looks to be an addition put onto the original building. The shrimp cocktail cake with shrimp that were room temperature. I noticed hubs didn't finish his plate. There is a cashier stand with a cash register but we were sent back to our table to wait until or waitress could check us out. Party of four. We ordered two orders of fajitas for two. Both of the orders had long hairs in them. One was a long blonde hair and the other was a long black hair. The waitress and the manager both insisted that nobody in their kitchen has long hair. That was offensive as it sounded like they thought we planted the hairs in order to get free food. Toouch queso in Texas.. Thought I would try another place since we moved to Fort Worth 5 months ago from another state. Have been disappointed that the flavor here is not the same I am used to. So I have to make my own off the menu arrangement on my burrito. Bean and real shredded cheese. I added their verde salsa to the top and sour cream. The waitress was very accommodating. Came here and shared a plate it was the first time coming here and we didn't want to get something we wouldn't like. The plate was big enough to feed two of us. The rice was ok not bad beans were good. There was a nice amount of guacamole and sour cream. The beef fajita tasted more like barbacoa but we both really liked it. I didn't like the sweet tea tasted a little weird maybe it's the water. The service I think was from Jeff he did a really good job he didn't make a face when we ordered only one plate he even brought two extra plates. If you have any type of OCD with food, avoid this restaurant. My husband and decided to go here because we usually will check yelp and find places to eat. We walked in on Sunday where I see a sign to seat myself. I have no issues with this.... we find a seat and a waiter comes to take the drink order. Be advised that this is the first time I've been to this establishment, so I don't know how things work. I observe that there appears to be a buffet in the corner... but again not sure if we are going to get a menu, etc. The waiter comes back to the table and left before giving any kind of directions as to what we should do. Geez help a person out... Apparently there is no option other than buffet... I go over with my husband and pick up a plate and get in line. I see that they are using tongs and placing them bag on top of the lids so that they touch right where the handle would be. This is where soooooooooooooo many unclean hands have touch and I'm supposed to pick up this food tong dive it back into the food and put it on my plate. My husband sees that I'm less than thrilled. I'm totally the type of person that orders my food so that I can wash my hands after I've touched my menu... now I'm thinking about all of the hands in my food. It doesn't make sense. I then see an employee take a pair of tongs (that someone had angled so you could keep the food covered yet have the tip propped up through the area that's meant for the serving utensils) they promptly picked it out of the food and put it on the lid where everyone's hands would touch.... that's just nasty. While my husband isn't overwhelmed by this I just can't stand it. It's gross. I don't want to go over to the person next to me and lick their hands.... that's pretty much what I'm imagining. I decided to eat pancakes of which came from the kitchen. Hopefully they handled it better in the back of the house than I felt they did in the front. My grandfather used to work in the food industry when he was alive.... perhaps that's why I pick up on the little things. As you can imagine, I will not be back. read more

I love Arizola's. It's a little different type of Tex-Mex started by Mama Arizola in a house 40-50 years ago. It moved to a converted McDonald's, which is a little kitch, but the food is still just as good. The Lake Worth Special is my absolute favorite, although for brunch, their huevos con chorizo and papas is delicious. The only thing I would ask of them is to pleeeeease bring back the Cardona's tortillas chips. They taste better, and they're part of the flavor of Arizola's. This restaurant gives a lot of Mexican restaurants a run fo their money. 1) Server was very pleasant and professional. I haven't had such nice service like tonight. A-1. 2). Food was brought out in possible world record time. Not only was it fast, but it looked very fresh. 3). It was fresh and the first bite was outstanding. I had 3 chicken soft tacos and each one tasted as good as the other. Plenty of cheese and chicken on tacos. Needless to say, my appetite was pleasantly fulfilled 4) Salsa at the table should be bottled and sold, it was that good. Did not have any issues about refills and he was pleasant the other guests, even when they were a minute last. The server was great, I had the triple combination beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas and my wife had the beef fajitas. The chicken and shrimp fajitas were actually good however the beef fajitas were very tough. We complain and were off a10% discount on our $60 meal. The manager did give the owners phone number and after some convincing he agreed to remake my meal. My no longer wanted meal which could not be eaten. She stopped at Burger King later. I will not be returning to this place and not recommend anyone else do. I took the new fajitas home and they were still tough. Just through them away. THERE ARE TO MANY OTHER GOOD MEXICAN RESTAURANTS TO HAVE TO BE FORCE TO ACCEPT POOR QUALITY FOOD!! We did not get our money worth at this establishment!! read more

Whenever I visit Texas I always try a Mexican restaurant and as always I have never found one that has been memorable. This is my second time trying Arizola's Mexican restaurant and I have never been disappointed. I stopped by today one more time before heading home to California. And again they did not disappoint. I had the lunch special beef enchilada and tamale combo the flavoring was what reminds me of the restaurants in Los Angeles. The wait staff are great as well as the hostess. It's okay. The staff was amiable and attentive. The food left a lot to be desired; I ordered the cheese dip to go with the complimentary chips (which were fresh 10/10) and salsa, and this is the only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to that didn't serve Queso Blanco, but a yellow cheese that tasted suspiciously like Velveeta. My husband ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, and it was terrific, but he also ordered enchiladas with a side of beans and the beans were more like soup on the plate. I ordered a strawberry margarita amd it was delicious. I also ordered a beef burrito, and a chicken burrito a la carte with cheese sauce and the meats both tasted comparable to El Monterey's microwavable Taquitos with the same salty Velveeta-esque cheese drenching the contents of my plate. Ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. The steak was so flavorful and tender you could cut it with a fork. The serving for one could easily feed two. My husband ordered the Menudo and it was filling and very flavorful. The building itself is old and showing its age but that doesn't matter to me. The people and food more then make up for it. The only thing that I was surprised about is that their flour tortillas were not as good as what you would expect at a restaurant serving such delicious food. I was SO disappointed in Arizola's; I can't see how it's still I business. It's horrible!!!! Terrible waitress that was slow and sloppy. It took awhile before I was attended to and once I was, I had to repeat my order twice and then I was overcharged on my ticket. The food was terribly disappointing. My nachos were burnt. The salsa was bland and ice cold. They only allow one refill on a soft drink; which is unheard of in a Texas establishment. The water tasted awful even after I tried to add lemon. I will report that to the health department right away. I believe it can be closed down! The atmosphere was equally disappointing. The restaurant was filthy and it was a chore keeping my appetite to finish my meal. I didn't! I will NEVER return and I will be sure to let my family and friends know about this cess -pool so they won't waste their money! read more

2 stars are generous, but the chips and salsa were good, so I decided to allow a second star for that. Chile relleno was a tiny sliver of a chile poblano in super thick and hard outer layer covered in a mound of cheddar cheese. The "queso" on top was more like an orange gravy. It was my first time here. We went to this restaurant on Sunday, March 17th. I was honestly scared the food was going to be bad because there was barely any people(2 other tables were being used). My fiancee got bean burrito, and I got the fajita chicken and beef quesadillas. Our food got to the our table about 5 minutes after ordering. I was honestly shocked. But my fiancee reminded me that there was only 3 tables being used and the other 2 tables already had food. So the cooks were able to work on the food right away. The food was good. I have no complaints about that. Our server was awesome. He came and checked up on us the right amount of times. The only complaint I have is that the cashier seemed very bored and didn't smile at all while ringing us up. read more

My husband ordered the fajitas and oh my GOSH I will be back for these many times!!! It was $20 but we got at least four meals out of it. Really really sad that a place that I assume would be good based on how long it's apparently been here and that they have another restaurant would be this bad. The food looks and taste like ponchos(but not back in the day ponchos that was awesome). The service was even worse and that's scary. The place was empty and it took 10 minutes to be sat down because each passing employee said to the next to one to deal with us and none cared to. Finally the manager I assume angrily sat us and got my drink wrong. My food also came out a completely different dish and I was never asked how my un-eaten food was even when we got up paid and left. We were looking for a place we hadn't been before for our favorite food... MEXICAN! We pulled into this restaurant off of Hwy 199. There were several cars in the lot but not as many as the number of people inside who were waiting to be seated. We had a small wait (although the restaurant didn't appear crowded in the actual dining area). Chips, salsa and drinks came straight away. We were given adequate time to peruse the menu before we were asked if we were ready to place our orders. Three of us ordered the fajita taco salad and one, quesadillas. You guys who follow my reviews know I'm a salsa snob. The salsa was chilled (which I love) and a little spicey. Definitely made in house. I DID have to add a little salt to the salsa in order to get it to my satisfaction. Food came out in record time. Nice presentations all around the table. The taco bowl was INCREDIBLY fresh. One of the best I have ever eaten. This may seem irrelevant to some but, they knew how to stack the ingredients. The hot was on the bottom (beans and meat) and the cold was on top (veggies, cheese, sour cream, etc.). The reason I mention this is because I HATE when the lettuce is put by the hot stuff and it wilts. GUH-ROSS. The meal was reasonably priced and the beers were cold. Enjoyed this little gem of a restaurant very much. I will be going back because as I was leaving, I caught a glimpse of the chicken-shrimp fajitas. They WILL be mine next time. Lol read more

This place has the best salsa in the world. The food is always quick to your table and it tastes like heaven. My husband and I love coming back here for the amazing enchiladas, the rice is great. I'm very disappointed with Arizola's. I went on new years eve to place an order for combo fajitas for 2 and a large queso. The hostess at the counter informed me that if I ordered a large, I would be charged for large and would only receive a small. I asked why and she said since covid, maybe shortage of queso. I said what about 2 small, how much? She told me $10.00 for 2 small, so $5.00 each. I told her that I wasn't happy about it but to give me 2 small. I told her I would be leaving a bad review! I have been going there for five years and supported them during covid. I probably won't be going back. Large on menu is $6.75, I had to pay $10.00 for 2 small. Is it true? This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the DFW area! You simply must try the Mexican-style shrimp cocktail. It's so good, when I get it to go, nothing goes to waste..... After all the shrimp/avacados/ picante style goodness chunks are long gone, I drink the sauce from the cup! (It's THAT GOOD!!!) I also get the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce. The staff is really nice and the place is down-to-earth. No need to get dressed up. This place is not a big time chain, so you are supporting a local business when you patronize this place. They also have a location in Saginaw, but I haven't been to that one yet. read more
