My friend and i had a mommy date. We ordered the kids food and we had drinks. The drinks here are dirt cheap and really good. I dont think they had a lot flavors for the margaritas but it was overall good. Online the website says the margaritas are 6.95 but they are really 8.95 plus dollar for extra flavor. Jordan was a great server and very attentive. Will definitely be back to try the food but happy hour here would be nice. We paid about 30 each for what we got the kids and two drinks. My husband picked up a large online order tonight. When he got there he was told they didn't have an order for him. It was under my name and she was saying my name wrong and argued with him about that and was very rude. She finally found our order of $100 worth of food. When it came out he asked where the chips and salsa were because we know how they cheat you out of chips and salsa when you order take out so we ordered a large chips and salsa. The manager came out and was asking what was wrong and he said he wanted his chips and salsa and asked her if the small bag of chips and small salsa looked like enough for all of the food we ordered. She was very rude to him. He finally got his order of chips and salsa and they asked, did you pay? He said we paid online. Very unorganized and rude. Our food was a mess, everything mixed together and barely any cheese on my nacho fries! Very disappointed for sure! The food was pretty good! The queso with beef and quac was really thick and good. Not velveta cheese but like actually good queso. I got the chimichanga and the crunch of the tortilla and the portion of the insides were pretty good. VDS has been a local go-to restaurant for me and my friends for a few years now. Overall, they do a very good job in a small town inundated with Mexican-type cuisine. They are almost always busy so sometimes you may end up waiting a few minutes for a table, weekend evenings especially. If there is anything that I have concern about, it has become the service. I understand that all restaurants are having some problem and VDS is no exception. Probably the biggest bottleneck seems to be get drinks from the bar. It can take a bit of time for sure. Horrible party location. Terrible manager. Mediocre (at best) food and drink. One amazing server!! I attended a party at this restaurant recently and I should start out by saying I was an attendee and was not a part of organizing the party. However, the experience we had needed to be shared. The "party" room was very cramped and others sat in the room with you which I thought was strange. The party organizer paid for the reservation for the party room and communicated that 30 people would be in attendance, however, when the guest arrived there was not enough seats for all 30 people, only 24. We asked for additional tables but since other patrons were sat in the "room" it was difficult to accommodate and therefore the tables were not able to be joined together so they set them side by side which made it very difficult to get around the tables. When this happened they said when the table at the end of our table got up we could move it over. Our poor waitress struggled to get drinks, orders, etc. and it made it impossible to visit. The poor family at the end of the table finished their dinner and we went to slide the table around and a waitress (not ours, got ugly and told us not to) she went and got the manager who was absolutely the rudest man EVER! I could not believe the way he spoke to the two people in our party who organized it. They explain the situation and he raised his voice that there WERE ENOUGH AND WE COULDN'T JUST MOVE HIS TABLES! He shook his finger and just spoke like we were complete idiots. They explained that they paid for the party room and he NO! You paid for a table of 30! Which btw, we didn't have, it was for 24! I should note there were 32 of us but we had little kids that we could have held the two extra, if needed. So beware if you choose to have a party here: 1. You apparently don't pay for the room only a table of however many the jerk of a manager decides. 2. If they mess up and you need additional it's near impossible because others are in the room too. 2. If you move a table (although it was discussed earlier) the manager will get very angry and raise his voice and shake his finger at you. Embarrassing!! By the way, for our party we were only given 4 menus too . I can't speak to anyone's else's food but my immediate family was less than impressed with ours. The shrimp was sooooo over cooked it was complete rubber and the tacos al carbon were under seasoned and soggy. Drinks tasted like lots of fake lime and poor quality mixes were used, they were just not very good. The shining light of the entire night was our waitress, who was absolutely a star! She took orders throughout all the mess, tried to find solutions, drinks were never empty, she squeezed around the mess of the tables, she was nice and attentive ALL BY HERSELF! I believe her name was Carmela or Carmen. She was a sweetheart and deserved all the recognition that night. Just do yourself a favor and save your money on reserving the "party room", hope you don't have to deal with the manager, and don't have high expectations on food or drinks. read more

My husband and I pass this restaurant all the at different times of the day and comment that it must be good because the parking lot is always full. Unless you go on Monday. Monday, I think they are closed. So typical chips and salsa nothing out of the ordinary there. We got tea and water and the tea tasted like it was freshly made. Bonus! I ordered ceviche and hubs ordered the stacked enchiladas. The stacked enchiladas come out like fajitas with all the sizzle, steam and fanfare. But I tried them before hubs googled them down and they were tasty. My ceviche was excellent. The plate was beautiful. They sprinkled a type of salt on the cucumbers and it was good. Waitress was slow to bring our check and pick up plates but food was very good. Lots of patrons around us has fish bowl margaritas in every color so I imagine that would be another nice addition to any meal when you go. read more

Wow. I usually don't write bad reviews, but I guess I am having a run of bad luck. A group of 6 of us went to eat at Villa Del Sol. We arrived at about 1:30 on a Sunday, so it was fairly busy. We waited about five minutes for a table. We sat down and waited for quite a while before they got our drink. Then we waited close to ten minutes to get our drinks. I thought the worst was over, but it took another 15 to get our order. Some of the food finally arrived at about 2:20.... I ordered Beef Guiso, but what I got did not even resemble Guiso. It was basically soup on a plate. After waiting almost an hour for our food I didn't even bother trying to have them fix it, I just sent it back. Nobody seemed worried about it, so I guess that is just how they do business. read more

We thought it was just okay. We tried Villa Del Sol on a recent Sunday evening. We were seated right away. The staff seemed a bit frenzied. I'm wondering if they were a bit short staffed. Chips and Salsa plus water came right away. The chips were pretty shiny. Probably oil and probably just out of the fryer. Still, they were very thin, crispy and tasted good. The salsa wasn't great to our taste. It was very thin and tomato tasting. It needed some body and a touch of heat. We asked for some of their Salsa Verde. It came and was thick and brought the heat. We mixed it with the red sauce and that made it better. We ordered a large meal for two and split it. We ordered: Grande Parrillada. This was a huge dish ($34). It included a bit of: - Fajitas (steak and chicken) - Sauted onions and peppers - Bacon wrapped shrimp - BBQ ribs - Beans and rice - Side fixin's of shredded lettuce, pico, sour cream and guacamole We also ordered Margaritas. We asked for rocks no salt. We also wanted a shot of Grand Marnier. They didn't have a bartender this evening so the servers made their own cocktails. They also didn't have any Grand Marnier. Our Margaritas came on the rocks with lots of salt. Oops. She confirmed multiple times before making them. She offered to remake them but we just wiped the salt off. They were just okay. The meal however was rally good and so much food. We took half home and had it for dinner the next night. In summary, good food, decent service, not great drinks, not great red salsa. Super excited to try this place out! However, was very disappointed. Put our name on the list (a lined piece of binder paper) along with several others. We were overlooked, along with several others, and ended up waiting double the time to be seated. Very unorganized with minimal communication at the front counter. Villa Del Sol came recommended to us from a local family member. The inside of the restaurant has a fu atmosphere with a lot of colors and murals on the walls. The staff was friendly. The salsa and chips were really good and the medium was not too hot at all and had a lot of flavor. The meals of my friends were very good and they were pleased with their burritos. I am not sure if this is common practice or an accident, but I ordered cheese enchiladas to go and when I got home, realized that they'd put beef on the top. I'm a vegetarian so this was frustrating and I tried my best to scrape the beef off of the top. I checked the order and it said nothing about beef. If you get cheese anything, and don't eat meat, be sure to specify no meat. I would give them another try if given the chance. read more

Our server was terrific but the food was too salty, the bar was super slow, and the salsa was thin. Overall, it was average but it's still good given the circumstances.
