I admit that I've been lazy this year, so far, so this is my first review of the year. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this place. It is an easily accessible building in Azle, off 730, but despite that it's not easy to see unless looking for it, specifically, since the sign isn't easy to read until you stop and it just looks like a basic strip mall with a Vape store next door, etc. The reason for the mixed reviews is that I paid $10 for 3 tacos and charro beans. The tacos were very small for that price, with not much meat. On the other hand, the meat was very well seasoned and was really good. The charro beans was amazing as well, with large pieces of bacon and the beans. My only issue with the charro beans was that it was very mild with no kick at all, even though it had jalapenos cooked into it. One thing that was interesting and not common at taquerias.. While the cilantro and raw onions were in plastic portion cups, it also had grilled onions, a grilled jalapeno, and it was grilled pineapple which was really good and tasted very good putting the pineapple on each taco. Now to my favorite part.. The Hot sauce. I love spicy food and it's very much a craving and the green sauce was very mild, but the red had good flavor and had a nice little kick to it. So good flavor, despite very small portions. A little expensive just for 4 tacos and a small cup of charro beans, so use your own judgement and try this place if you like street tacos and decide for yourself how it is in comparison to other places read more

I saw this taqueria in my small town of Azle and had to stop by to check it out! I got the tacos place which comes with 4 tacos (your choice of protein) and a side of charro beans for under $10! The tacos were very good. The meat was seasoned and toppings come on the side so you can dress your taco however you want! I was not a fan of the chicharrónes taco as it was too fatty imo but the al pastor and carne asada tacos were bomb! Also, the green and red salsa had great flavor and not overly spicy! I highly recommend you check them out but beware that it is a small location so large parties will probably not be accommodated. read more

My husband and I ate at the delicious Taqueria Melendez in Azle, TX! Husband had the monstrous Meat Burrito (with extra cheese) and I had the delectable smooth very thick chicken quesadilla! It was the most delicious quesadilla I've ever had. Fell apart in your mouth, not dripping with grease; you must try it! Small dining area with various sport channels on different screens! Loved this stop! From Cali (and part Mexican), looking at the area and stopped in for lunch. We ordered a barbacoa taco and a sincronizada. Both were soooo good. We've driven past here plenty times until today when we finally decided to see what it was about. It's a very small restaurant, limited menu items- but oh so good! I had tacos al pastor and my partner had the tacos de carne asada. Tacos are served on a corn tortilla (semi street style, not as small but smaller than regular sized). On a separate dish you are given fresh cilantro, raw onions, grilled onions, grilled pineapple, and a jalapeño. I also ordered an horchata (more milky with less cinnamon). I was very pleasantly impressed with my visit here. The meat was soft and tender and full of flavor. The side ingredients were fresh. This is one of the best taquerias in town. They deserve way more recognition. The mom being a very hard worker running the business and all of the workers give the best service. Even the cook named Manny is a great fu**ing guy. The spot being right in front of the highschool is really good for them and i enjoy the Ambiance of the spot. My favorite is the burrito with carne asada but everything is great here. The pastor is made by hand the old fashioned way. The charro beans are fantastic. Red and green salsa are very authentic. The red is hot so watch yourself. They serve most meals with a little cart of grilled onions, fresh onions, cilantro, grilled pineapple, and a grilled jalapeno. The barbacoa is my favorite that I have settled on getting each time. 4 thick corn tortillas with lots of meat. They do not skimp on the meat. Comes with grilled onions, charred jalapeño and charred pineapple. Plus you get a cup of pinto beans that are very good. Cilantro and chopped onions are available. The green sauce is very good. I love this place, tacos autenticos in Azle! I prefer the pastor over asada and the barbacoa is a bit greasy. Love their homemade corn tortillas and the baracho beans are delicately delicious-I could eat them every day. They aren't "oxidized"/dark brown but are nicely seasoned, pinky brown and mild. Dishes come with several condimentos: a wedge of fresh lime, chopped sweet onion, chopped cilantro, and their own green and red salsas. The menu is a bit limited but they do have a quesadilla with meat (forget what they call it). I usually get the tacos al pastor plate which comes with 4 tacos, beans, a grilled, fresh jalapeno, grillled onions, grilled fresh pineapple plus the 5 fresh condiments. read more
