It always starts with let's just go and walk around and maybe find a place to eat. Famous last word as it starts with window shopping which then leads into walking into a store and treating yourself. Clearly never hurts anyone. This area is an outdoor space with a decent amount of the higher end stores. It's stretches out a few block radius but the Main Street, El Paseo is where majority of the storefronts are. But then you have the outdoor mall, not really a mall but a little shopping strip. Here is where most of the higher end shops are located. You have Gucci, Bottega Venetta, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Company, to name a few. Not to mention a fairly decent amount of restaurants to add to the mix. Quite a few steakhouse and seafood restaurants. Plenty of parking along the street as well as the parking structure behind which is covered. The property and layout of the district is beautiful. Of course the desert theme is active with all the cactus and succulents. A few water features and a good amount of seating with umbrella from the sun. Even if you window shop or just browse the streets, this area is quite beautiful and nicely done. A fairly decent amount of stores and loads of restaurants. It's worth checking out. It's where you'll find the higher retailers in the desert. read more

Another successful shopping day in Palm Desert. Absolutely love Dare to Dazzle at Sage on El Paseo, Iris has an amazing selection of fun accessories. Everything is so mich fun, fun, fun. The Cheese shop next door is glorious for lunch. That spinach salad yum. Followed up with a sweet treat across the street at the Gelato shop. So yummy. Their strawberry cup is so freaking good. Of course the little boutiques are also awesome. Christy is one of my favorites also at Sage. Lol. Definitely recommend spending a day or two here. read more

The El Paseo Shopping District offers high-end designer stores and boutiques, fine jewelers, art galleries, and a diverse selection of upscale to casual dining options in this 9-block area in Palm Desert. Manicured & meticulously planted raised median on El Paseo displays a multitude of outdoor artworks as one strolls or drives along the "Rodeo Drive of the Dessert". There are free yellow courtesy carts which operates seasonally from mid-October through May to shuttle people along El Paseo. Street parking can be difficult at times, however there are two parking structures at The Gardens on El Paseo and at El Paseo Village. Also, many storefronts have some parking behind them. read more

This is a really beautiful area with so, so many shops, restaurants, beauty places, art galleries, and just about everything you can think of. They even have a small outdoor mall called The Gardens. This place reminds me of Rodeo Drive, which is high praise. We went there on Thanksgiving actually and I thought it was like two blocks, but it's more like 6 blocks with shops on both sides. They have a nice pretty middle section with statues and designs. They have a Tommy Bahama's and a central Starbucks as well as a Pandora and Sephora. Lots of jewelers and miscellaneous places to check out. I was very impressed by this street. Look forward to coming back when more places are open. read more

I don't know if I came on an off day (though it was a Saturday afternoon) but most shops and galleries were closed which was disappointing. We ate at Porto Via which was great and there were some other restaurants as well but was hoping to do some shopping. I will say the White House Black Market was great and had a good selection with great service. There were also a couple cool antique stores that we browsed but was hoping to see more. read more

Fancy shopping district in Palm Dessert. I spent a morning walking the sidewalks here and enjoyed the few sculptures throughout, window shopping (it was earlier in the day and most stores were closed) and the nice median lined with Palm Trees. There were a few galleries, restaurants and coffee shops sprinkled in to the high end retail. While, I myself, couldn't see myself shopping here, it makes a great place for a morning stroll and some light people watching. read more

For my review #499, I would like it to land here at El Paseo Shopping District in the 'City of Palm Desert,' CA. Which is only about 20min of a drive away from Palm Springs, CA. Aside from Desert Hills Premium Outlets, if you decide to travel to Palm Springs, CA. area, you should definitely stop by the 'El Paseo Shopping District.' I would consider this District a Tourist attraction as well. Stores such as 'Saks Fifth Avenue,' and 'Brooks Brothers,' existed here in El Paseo Shopping District. There were plenty more, but I needed to scroll down my camera roll to bring memories back. This is another long overdue review. This is one of the more beautifully designed shopping Districts in town and definitely offered free parking. I recalled that I was last here prior to the Pandemic. This is another long overdue review. This is a very convenient District to shop at due to plenty of free parking. It requires some walking if you want to stop and take lots of selfies, but definitely worth a trip here if you are already at Palm Springs, CA. read more

The "El Paseo Cruise Night and Car Show" was fantastic time for car owners,car enthusiasts and the community alike! The event took place at The Gardens On El Paseo Shopping Center in beautiful Palm Desert,California.The cars started rolling in around 2 P.M. and there was a fantastic,eclectic gathering of over 100 cars-exotics,vintage,hot rods,classics,lowriders ,muscle cars and trucks! Car owners,enthusiasts and visitors were enjoying great fellowship and car talk! Then at around 4 P.M. the cars hit the streets for a great cruise on the boulevard.. When you go you can park on the second level where the cars are at and then walk downstairs to see the cruise- great photo ops here and throughout the The Gardens On El Paseo Shopping and Dining Center. I love this road, and it's not about the really cool stores. They are everywhere, but there are a bunch. Are you looking for a new Tesla? They've got it. Do you need some jeans? Lucky Brand is on the road. Do you want a nice new silk Hawaiian shirt? Tommy Bahama is nearby. Do you like to eat? They've got Mexican food, a diner, Starbucks, a seafood restaurant (Pacifica), and a host of other choices. These are all great, but for me, it's all about the art. You've probably got about 10 different art galleries, and they all had something that I enjoyed viewing. They were all different, as they all seemed to have a unique focus. El Paseo is a great place for a number of reasons, and I'll be back next time I'm in town. read more

Billed as the Rodeo Drive of the Desert, there are many high end stores here, for certain. At the holidays, there are lights galore, which make driving or walking through at night a feast for the eyes. We did drive by the heart of the shopping district last night and oohed and aahed at several giant trees of lights, plus the center divide trees wrapped in even more sparkling lights. Even our 14 year old nephew thought it was pretty cool, and he can be hard to impress. I always enjoy when merchants create festive window displays, and there were many shiny, colorful designs to brighten the scene. It's beginning to look like the holiday season is in full swing in Palm Desert. read more

What a delightful day enjoying a wonderful collection of stores and restaurants. I love the art galleries that are sprinkled in between the shops. Stores were friendly and welcoming. This is a great place to shop. All of the restaurants and stores are clean in both the interior as well as exterior and they put on great events that bring visitors together including trick or treat where 95 pct of stores participated. Also although its not a mall in the traditional sense it felt like a strip mall in the way that you can visit most of the stores without having to cross the large parking. There is definitely a focus on aesthetics as well as convenience with decent sized fountains and ample seating on benches and in front of restaurants that don't feel restricted to that specific restaurant the tables are in front of. Additionally there are beautiful views of the mountains as you walk around - shopping with a view :-) read more

Like nice cars? Like to people watch? Like to walk? El Paseo is a great place for all three. While here, my husband spotted a Shelby Mustang, a Snake something or other, and some other apparently lovely, fancy cars in pristine condition. As you can see, I'm not the car aficianado, but they must be something special for us to have circled the block four times, then parked to get out and have a closer look. El Paseo is nice for a stroll and to window shop, looking at things that in a million years, I can't afford. Lovely benches align the streets, so sit down and have a gaze. It's the "Rodeo Drive" of Palm Desert, and some would say it's better than Rodeo Drive because you can shop at the Gucci, Brooks, Saks, and many other high end stores without the high end attitude of Beverly Hills. But it's not all high end--there is really something for everyone--they even have a large Apple store (where they actually asked me if I needed help when I entered--very unLAish) and Banana Repulsive and Ulta and BoBoolemon and OldBalance and Mastroes (best steak) and Wofgang Hockey Puck and Armando's Mexican and Sushi and Burrrrrberry, and a ton of Art Galleries mixed in and many many more businesses too numerous to list here. No visit to Palm Springs or Palm Desert is complete without a stroll on El Paseo. It's a Mirage in the middle of the Desert that keeps growing and growing. It has such a great feel to it, and you will feel good here too--it truly is one of the best shopping environments in the US. It is blocks and blocks of streets that are really a well joined outdoor mall, and that is another thing that is so unique. Sitting outside Starbucks or Coffee Beans people watching El Paseo with the stunning mountains in the backdrop on a Sunny afternoon is heaven. Best of all: Parking is free on the streets, and in the lots in the back of the stores. And don't forget, as you walk down El Paseo, on the backside of the stores on the North Side of the street are more great stores and restaurants fronting the 111. And business owners have taken notice of the status of El Paseo and it's growing more quality on the North side of the 111 in the El Paseo area. Unless you are totally opposed to art or dining out or shopping--go check it out at least once. I never knew it existed until someone showed me it a couple of years ago, and now I am a convert and never miss a chance to spend some time there. read more

My husband and I were in Palm Springs for a few days, so we were curious to explore Palm Desert too. Heck, the name sounds pretty to two people originally from New York. We happened to come on Black Friday. We easily found a parking space a block away from the main street with shops. The sidewalks were a bit crowded, but not overly so. Many of the shops were high end, so we mostly window shopped. I recommend looking for the ladies clothing store with the three cute little dogs in the window. There was also a great art store, a bit rich for our blood, but fun to browse nonetheless. We did have lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen, which happened to be quite crowded. We purchased a few pairs of shoes at the Clark's store for my husband, the service was great. Other than that, it was mostly browsing. This was a really fun place to take a stroll through. We enjoyed people watching too! read more

This is THE shopping destination in Palm Desert. Very tastefully done, all relatively new and in the same style. Most of the year it is just too hot too wander a vast outdoor space like this, making it a better option for morning or evenings. They have all the big name upscale designers as well as a few locals, art, jewelry and restaurants, anything you could want to do in Palm Desert is located in this area, a must see if in the area. read more

The Rodeo Drive of Palm Desert. Fun to window shop but unless you've got deep bank accounts it's not your typical shopping trip at the mall. Mainly empty, high end clothing boutiques, ritzy interior furnishings stores and art galleries. The art displays along the open space and medians make for great selfie shots. I love this street! There is something for everyone. So many great places to eat - Mastros, Sullivan's and Mitch's for Steak, Kitchen 86 has Boom Boom Shrimp and Wood fired Pizza. , Beaux Arts Cafe for crepes. Tommy Bahama has a great Crab and Avocado salad. Armando's is authentic Mexican food. Wilma and Frieda is delicious for Breakfast. JC's Cafe is my go to for simple lunch. Il's Corso or Mamma Gina for authentic Italian. And so many unique stores that are one of a kind - and some favorites from Louis Vuitton and Tiffany, Williams Sonoma, Janie and Jack but the small stores too. My husband loves the shirts I got him at Tommy Bahama. For casual, I like Fresh Produce and Chicos for day wear and Grayse for bling. So many hair salons to get all dressed for dinner or spa like Body Deli. It's fun on the first Friday of every month when the cars cruise on the street and the Art Galleries open their doors. Reminds me of Sorrento, Italy where in the evening everyone strolls the main street with their babies in strollers and dogs on leash window shopping. My friends that come in to visit, I suggest they stay at the Hotel Paseo and they love it. Such a great experience. Can't wait for Friday night since I am going to watch the First Friday Festivities again since it's starting up. I love living here. It's like a cruise ship with so much to do. read more

We come to Palm Desert to eat and shop. We normally stay nearby in either La Quinta, Palm Springs or Cathedral City. La Quinta is the closest so overtime we stay at the local resort we always make a pitstop in El Paseo. When we come it's never busy. The busy times I suppose is probably during the holidays. Every time we have came, there is barely anyone walking the strip of high end stores. It's kind of like a ghost town, which I like. I hate crowds. We have our usual stores that we stop at - Burberry and Banana Republic. There is a restaurant that is next to Saks that we really like. We don't ever discount Tiffany's or LV of course! We love Mastro's!!! Definitely your high end area, but plenty of free parking on the street and lots in the backside of the shopping centers. read more

This shopping center has really improved the last several years, additions of the Apple Store, Anthropologie, Teavana and most recently Mastro's Steakhouse. I was here New years eve day and never seen this plaza so busy. Parking on the street was impossible so parked in the complimentary two level parking structure located in the back. In addition to the newer stores you'll find the only department store Saks Fifth Ave and retail such as Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Bahamas, True Religion Jeans, Williams Sonoma, Between the Sheets and many other retailers. In addition to Mastro's for dinner you'll have choices at Sammy's Woodfried Pizza, Pacifica Seafood, Tommy Bahamas and Sullivan's steak house. Christina S. and the other Yelpers have done a good job reviewing El Paseo. Speaking as a former Palm Desert resident this is the best place for shopping. And I think the shopping has improved a lot in the last 5 years. In addition to the new high-end shops, some more moderately priced stores have opened up too (Lucky Brand, Anthropologie). Shops that I enjoy, that I think are worth checking out: BB One, Trio, She She Clothing Boutique, J. Crew, and I like the Saks Fifth Ave here. The Pottery Barn is also good. There are several good restaurants in the area. Sullivan's, Pacifica, Mamma Gina's, and Sammy's Woodfired Pizza are worth checking out, and that's just to name a few. There are many others. One thing you have to remember is that a good majority of the people you see shopping at El Paseo are NOT from the area. Those hoity people that you're seeing are visiting from other parts of California (mostly LA and Newport) or they're out-of-town snowbirds. If you don't want to be bothered with those people then I would suggest going to the desert in July, August, or September. :) read more

This is the "strip" in Palm Desert. Mostly high end boutiques offering apparel although there are also salons, parfumeries, and kitchen supply stores. I was able to buy some nice shoes at Mephisto and some of my favorite shower gels at L'Occitane en Provence. We also enjoyed drinks at the AC3, the new food and drink establishment at the Hotel Paseo. read more

Since we were in the area we decided to check out this shopping area. It's pretty big and just stretches along a long road, with some staple stores, unique stores and grassy/seating areas and artwork. Overall, a nice stroll if you have time to kill but nothing super amazing. read more
